Sir David Attenborough recounts how Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher - two of the unlikeliest eco-warriors in history - saved the planet.
A short film to raise awareness of the current Montreal Protocol climate talks in Kigali, Rwanda. World leaders are working to add the powerful global warming chemicals hydrofluorocarbons - HFCs - to the protocol. If they succeed, the result will be a cut of up to half a degree off global warming by the end of the century.

Except, in reality, it isn't that simple. The ozone layer expands and contracts annually, and in recent years the 'hole' has fluctuated from 'record largest' to 'record smallest' via seasonal fluctuations that ARE REGULATED BY THE SUN! Mankind plays no role this variability.
And you didn't win the Nobel! Shame... :P
In fact it was PM Brian Mulroney who got the ball rolling on this issue. His personal relationship with Reagan was responsible for the notably un-environmentally minded Reagan to get on board. Also Mulroney was instrumental in getting Reagan to see the necessity for an acid rain reduction.
Idiotic. The OZone goes through cycles every 50 years or so, where the hole opens, and then closes back up. It has nothing to do with humans. Just more self-absorbed nonsense about how humans think they are in control of the planet.
Your wrong thank God Reagan accepted reality.

@@DST7058 Mt. Erebus alone puts 1000 times more CFCs into the atmosphere than all human activity ever. That's why the hole is always bigger over Antarctica. Also, the Solar Winds that leak in through the geomagnetic fields at the polar regions (aurora borealis) strip away thousands of tons of Ozone, completely dwarfing any Ozone damage from human released CFCs.
