@@pops_placeI could be wrong but I think that roadie is “Josh”, the same guitar tech Justin had at his New England concerts. Josh got a lot of recognition from Justin and the audience loved him! Someone recently posted videos of one of Justin’s UK concerts. In addition to Mike (who’s incredible!) there was a second guitar player and I’m pretty sure it was Josh the roadie! That would be something! 😊🎸

That would be Cool... I did a Google search for Justin Hayward, including various keywords (Josh, Guitar Tech, Roadie, etc) and found only one mention a Guitar Tech named Chris, but unfortunately, that was all I could find... That being said, I'm betting that the "Tech" at this show can most likely play the Guitar, and is touring with two Master Teachers (Justin & Mike) . I find it very possible / plausible that Justin would throw the spotlight his way from time to time. Let me know if you come across any more info on this interesting Chap.... Pops

This is actually the first time that I have seen Justin Hayward as a solo headliner, although I have been to three Moodies Concerts over the years (post Mike Pinder, unfortunately) , first one at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena in the late 70’s…. Those were the days where you had to “ sneak” a camera into a venue… I do have some stills from those shows, but from a distance… For as bad as the Covid epidemic was / is, the one plus for a concertgoer was that now my ticket, Covid vax card and camera were all on my phone. No more sneaking in… EVERYONE had their own personal video studio in their pocket now… I do understand that some artists specifically take action against posting video, and I respect that, so I usually wait to see if others post first without artist objections, and I found out that most are ok with that, as long as it is not for your own personal monetary gain from their material. There is a copyright from the artist placed on most of the videos I have posted, but all have the artist’s permissions as well… for which I am grateful 😊 Getting back to Justin’s touring band, After reading the Bios, I realized that each had been with Mr. Hayward for quite some time now, and each artist is amazing in their own right. Mike Dawes, Justin’s Guitarist (who opened the show), totally blew me away with his talent and charisma… I found out that many consider him one of the best “finger style” Guitarists in the world at this moment…. Julie Ragins on Keyboards, and Karmen Gould on Flute ( in addition to backing vocals), are both accomplished musicians as well…. I know that a lot of folks really miss the Original Moodies, as do I. And I’m so glad that I got to experience a few of their concerts, during the Patrick Moraz years… They had such a unique sound, and blended together well… very fond memories…. That being said, I believe that Justin’s touring band, no doubt hand-picked by the Man himself, did a fantastic job accompanying Justin, performing HIS music, and is the closest live performance that anyone will get to experiencing a Moody Blues / Justin Hayward Tribute today…. 😊 PS: I currently use an iPhone 13 Pro… I try to edit as little as possible, but there are times when someone stands up in front of you (not their fault, just enjoying the show) , or the camera suddenly goes out of focus, which IS usually my fault, since this is my first iPhone, and I’m going through a learning curve process…. Needless to say, the acoustics may also be more of a mechanical issue from the phone, rather than the concert itself…. Pops

Hey, I get it when people comment about performances not being “up to par” with the vinyl… I respect the opinions of others… but I do feel like I have to give my point of view as well, every once in a while… Live performances will NEVER sound like the vinyl… and when I see a show, I don’t expect it to… I’m there as a fan to see an Artist that I have admired for quite a long time…. Taking into consideration that the album “The Present” was released in 1983 (40 years ago), I’d have to say that his performance of Blue World, as well as the entire show that night, was a very pleasant experience for me. From what I saw, I think the majority of the audience who was there would agree… Pops

@@pops_placeSince seeing them in Niagara Falls on the 2023 tour, this song jumped to one of my all-time favorites (so many favorites). Beautiful song and lyrics, even better with Karmen adding flute parts that originally were keyboard. And this is one of those songs where Mike Dawes could not help joining in singing along on the choruses, even without a microphone!

@JustinHayward-er3uz I live I in Spokane Washington, there is an excellent venue called The Bing that would be a great setting for you and your group in our city. Been a Moodys fan since “Go Now”, spent my college years listening to your wonderful music, still sound as fresh today. Keep up the amazing work with your great ensemble. From what I experienced, I think Justin holds his own very well… His latest release “Living for Love”is proof of that. I do give both Justin and John credit for carrying on for the fans and for their love of music, but whereas Justin still has “The Voice”, IMO, it’s John that needs a lot more support, from the UA-cam posts that I saw of his recent tour….

@@pops_placeI completely agree with you. You expressed this so well. Justin’s concerts are almost always sold out and his shows are amazing. The songs he selects blend perfectly with the outstanding talents of his other three musicians. John created a wonderful band as well but judging from the comments I’ve read many fans are conflicted when John performs two of Justin’s most iconic songs, NIWS and Tuesday Afternoon. John’s son in law, Jon Davison, has a nice voice but will never come close to Justin’s. I think that is the point that seems to bother people. I have never seen Justin perform any of John’s iconic songs such as See Saw or I’m Just A Singer. Justin said in an interview in January 2024, that he considers the 2017 performance in Toronto to be the “only legitimate live performance” of DOFP. I’m not sure what he meant by that but it certainly makes me wonder. I wish both Justin and John only the best. The Moody Blues were the best band (IMO) this world has ever had. I have such fond memories of seeing the Moody Blues all together back in the day and I truly miss that. Seeing your recent concert videos is wonderful, thank you! 😊
