Hello sir, iam doing the same thing. Dont you have some kind of wiring diagram or something? But i have 1.8t 132kw from Octavia RS in my fabia. Thanks a lot
Good to hear there's another one being built! (The car skoda was never allowed to by its vw overlords!) Are you planning on rewiring the shell of the car or trying to splice the 1.8t engine loom into the original fabia RS body loom?
Cheers mate! How is the fabia 1.8t project going? I'm trying to keep up with you while I convert the engine to mine as well
It's been on hold for a little while in all honesty! Taken a hair over two months to get the swap registered with the DVLA thanks to some butterfingers in the sorting department but we got there eventually! How far along are you with your swap? I will have an update on the 1.8t shortly 😁
@@AshandAutos I can't wait to see it! at the moment I bought the car for swap, it is a skoda octavia 1.8t 4x4, unfortunately I can't use it much as it is very different from the fwd platform. I just loved how its engine works and I definitely wanted it on my Fabia
@neculairares6699 it's certainly do-able! The octavia you have there is a rare beast in itself! If you have access to getting a polo gti or ibiza 6l FR or cupra you'd have a lot more access to usable parts and the conversion (at least for me) was cheaper having an entire donor car that was essentially the same chassis, are you starting with a petrol fabia or a diesel?
@@AshandAutos Unfortunately, where I live, any ibiza 1.8 / polo gti costs around €4000 and in the whole country there are only 4 for sale (3 ibizas and a polo) the Octavia was much more affordable, having from the start big problems with the body (rust) The Fabia I want to convert is petrol, 1.2 htp
my fabia in question is extraordinarily simple, its only equipment being power steering and air conditioning. (I don't even have ABS) I personally know several people who have completed the conversion. the cars run very well, but they all either have problems with the power steering or with the cluster
Unwatchable
Top job Ash!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great vid 👍 Looks a lot easier with all the dash out 😂
Cheers! Oh it was the easiest retrofit wiring job I've ever done! I thought it best to do it whilst I had the dash out already, rather than add it later on, as wiring upside down is not my favourite 😂
I have a 66 plate mk 3 monte exact same as this. My android auto is greyed out and won't connect to any phone I've tried. Do you have any idea how I can get it working? Does it need a software update from dealer or something? Its annoying lol
Sounds daft but have you tried a different known good cable? I have issues in works van sometimes and that's been cable related, especially if you've tried multiple phones
Are you keep8ng this car or selling when done ?
@bassonlures no immediate plans to sell this one I'm afraid, my other two fabia mk1 vRS' are in need of some tlc so this will be doing a lot more of the miles whilst I get those two squared away properly 😅 after that I'm not too sure... It's also finished! There's one more update post MOT to come but it's road ready again
@AshandAutos will we see the final on the road and how it drives video, also can you mod the mk 3 mo te carlo without stressing engine too much ?
@@bassonlures That is quite literally the next video I have in the pipeline 😁 is there anything you'd like to see in particular? These small vw petrol engines can be pushed fairly decently on a budget. This being the 1.2 Tsi, a simple remap would see north of 130bhp, a large 1.4tsi turbo w/exhaust changes and other supporting mods see around 180bhp based on other cars in the forums for these
So u used a ibiza fr donor car?
Yes the donor car was an ibiza 6l 1.8t FR
Hi, i have question about swap ,this is conversion from 1.9tdi ? this is 1.8t auq? , and gearbox from ? , i swapped Leon mk1 1.6 to 1.8t and im collecting informations about swap Fabia mk1 😅
This is swapped from 1.9tdi PD130 BLT to 1.8t 20V BJX, the AUQ has a different timing belt tensioner that would foul on the chassis leg/engine mount of the Fabia mk1 as far as I'm aware. BJX and BBU will bolt up without any issues 👍 Very nice on the swap! Do you still have the Leon?
@@AshandAutos thank you, Yes i still have Leon and continue build , now installed intercooler fmic 550x180 , and i fixing bumpers from Leon fr
Mate what a series, fair play lad!
Cheers! Plenty more to do with this one yet 😅
Bonnet lights look awful
It's all part of a bigger plan, not to everyone's taste but it's going to be far from a standard body fabia
Nice project
Cheers! I'd say the hardest part it yet to come
@@AshandAutos I had high hopes of doing the same with a fabia estate back in the day with a BJX engine, it ended up staying a tdi but a vrs conversion
@alexhawes6690 you could always pick another one up cheap and give it a go 😅 an estate with decent poke must have been a very useful car indeed!
@@AshandAutos I'd love to, I don't have space (or time and money) anymore, I moved onto various octavia vrs now in an F11 20d which will get a few upgrades but nothing as exciting as what you're doing
@alexhawes6690 still sounds exciting enough! Well hopefully you can live out your 20v swapping dreams vicariously through this series!
🔥
I'm looking forward to watching through all these videos I am thinking of doing the same with my son I would like some information off you if possible
Hi! I've only just checked my notifications and seen this comment, I'd be more than happy to share as much information as you'd need, what would be the best way to get in touch? All the best, Ash

Thanks very much. Your video helped me find the problem in minutes. Was indeed that little piece that had snapped off (after 18 years). Nail hack wouldn't have worked as it had sheared off completely so new actuator ordered from Amazon, hopefully lasts.
Good Vid, my clio boot lock is playing up stripped it down cleaned it up back in car. However its still intermittent but what I have noticed when locking the car inside on the button it never fails, which leads be to believe maybe its the battery in the key?
That little plastic lug is far too weak for the mechanism. I have replaced it three times. Bad design. comprehensive video and thanks for the 'nail fix' tip. I'll try that.
Need one for the Mk3
Thanks I have a mk 2 clio that I've been meaning to put a dash cam in since I passed wasy too many crazy things keep happening so I deffo need to do this for my safety xD
Could you put the link where I can buy this part on eBay as I keep getting different part come as my boot doesn’t open either ?
Here is the Amazon link to the D2P part I used www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073TYGWBQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_oiagmFENpAc8R Hope that sorts it! 👍
Omg remove this videoo now, bad sound
Thanks for explaining the problem with the mechanism. On my 4th in 3 years, various Ebay sites, D2P autoparts honoured their 1yr warranty : ) I'll try your fix, last 1 off ebay lasted 5 weeks. Cheers
Hope its been a trouble free couple of months so far! 👍
mm
Thanks for the help!
Well done, easy to follow
I'm glad it helped! Hope you managed to fix it 👍
I’ve got the Clio 1.2. I’m putting in the fogs from blanks. The stalk and dash lights show front and rear symbols. But I cannot find the plug for the fog loom. Loom harness /socket is under the passenger headlight. But I cannot find it. Do you have a pic?
I'm,sorry, but i dont normally 👎 anything clio related on UA-cam,BUT, you didn't actually show how to do it,you edited it out if you in fact recorded it,I wouldn't have minded a longer video with parts sped up, but you literally show nothing i wouldn't be able to work out for myself, sorry.
Installed a new one and it lasted a month! Now buying my 4th one, any ideas to help them last longer or am I buying ebay rubbish or do you think it's the motor as well as you say?
Hi Mark, that is definitely an odd one! The brushes in my motor had failed and were causing an intermittent and very annoying issue as you have experienced a lot by the sound of it... The plastic mechanism is a common failure point with these and motors don't last forever as I found out with mine... are you buying them from the same source? Here is the Amazon link to the D2P part I used last year and is still going strong! www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073TYGWBQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_oiagmFENpAc8R I hope this helps! Ash
@@AshandAutos i have just taken it apart and yes it's broken in the same place as you point out - the thin plastic white part that links into the black 'snail' cog mechanism. Thanks for the link I will buy from there and fingers crossed! Many thanks.
Thank you. Really easy to follow.
You're welcome! I hope this helped and that you've got everything working how it should be 👍
