A few non-spoilery tips that the game will never tell you: - swimming with an item an your hand slows you a little (press e to empty hands/exit/eject) - swimming at the surface is also a touch quicker - holding down sprint (shift button) keeps the fabricator menu open while it makes something - if you bind the left click action to the mouse wheel you can break rocks much quicker (thought this might be useful to a streamer) - don't worry about animals clipping through terrain, the game is just rather slack with it's collision detection, especially for critters Hope this helps.

Dude I got this game like a week ago and I'm already in deep. Quick tip, commando seems like a good character but he really is item dependent. Unlock Mul-T (first teleporter done 5 times) and his power mode (a little more complicated, loop your run until stage 7 or later and look up how to get to the void fields and finish those) for, frankly, a better commando.

I'm curious whether your problem is with the controls and not something else like the gameplay itself because I feel like returns does a pretty good job at having good controls. The only thing that bugs me is that my character doesn't shoot at the side of the screen my cursor is on

Great video! Very laid back. A quick tip, don't be afraid to use your abilities as often as you want, especially the utility. Most characters utilities help with movement.
