I am curious about how well these handle in really bad weather? I dont know the first thing about if you even get into situations like that, but I would assume when travelling across the big oceans, weather can be an issue. Do you get waves that crash across the boat decks, rocking around a lot, etc? Or do you have some way to stay "ahead" of bad weather and thus avoid anything too serious?
This looks identical to the Sailing Zatara boat including the back dome dish thing. Laid out identical, I bet this is the boat. ua-cam.com/video/YhNmK1Xf9RQ/v-deo.html
I like the internal layout but I would want some much warmer yauchtish wood. I really, really, really hate the Scan Design light wood in a yacht, but that is a matter of taste. Structurally, having large port lights facing upwards is dumb. The sun comes in and heats up the interior. You need overhanging cabin structures with vertical windows. Other than that, I like it.
Ironically, this is the make and model owned by the family from the Sailing Zatara channel, and they've been quite candid about operating costs as they sail theirs around the world. Life is all about choices. Personally, I believe if you work hard and pursue your dream, you've not wasted your money. Battling traffic day after day to slave your ass off just for the privilege of driving a bank's car home to a house the bank owns. Now that seems like a waste of money to me.
Merv Ive followed Keith and Renee for a while. You are correct, Keith is very candid about their expenses, I worked out their monthly expenses is about $5000pm which includes, insurance, navigation, health insurance, various subscriptions, food, repairs, fuel and maintenance. The above figure is for a family of six .... I dont know of many families that size getting away with $5000 pm. They basically swapped their home for a yacht, dont need vehicles and so forth. Seems like a great deal.
Karl D. What you’re forgetting is they paid half a million cash for the boat, since most people don’t have half a million to pay upfront, a HUGE additional operating expense for people like us would be the loan payment. If someone got the same screaming deal Keith got and put 100k down, on a 20 year boat loans for 400k the additional operating expense would be about $2,150 more on top of the 5k.
What kind of people are they catering to? Too many small boats with a sofa in the cabin (bedroom), never to be used, and often two hand basins in a tiny bathroom with a shitter in between. What do they think that people do in real life?
this is a boat for people who don’t mind having many things without particularly high frequency use for it. i have a feeling these are kind of sentiment you are not completely familiar with. besides, boat builders don’t have to reveal their intended market to everyone. your question seem too forceful.
They are catering to: 1) dreamers, 2) people who see this as motivation to work hard in order to achieve, 3) syndicated boat owners (e.g. 3-6 individuals), 4) businessmen who use the boat to entertain clients or potential clients, and 5) those who have enough money that buying and maintaining this boat is chump change. Don't be jealous or hateful toward any of these people.
Randolph E, seems to me that the people who can afford these things easily don’t really need them. As for someone who would live onboard full time as they sail the world for the rest of their natural life these things are just about unattainable because of the prohibitive price. The working stiff may be able to get an old one if it happens to find an affordable sweet deal like the guy with “sailing Zatara”. Even then, most working stiffs may never ever come up with half million bucks plus even if they’d sale everything they own in order to get a cat like this. Those folks who have the moolah for things like this usually spend “other people’s money” as their wealth it’s usually the result of the hard toil of thousands of people who works like slaves all their lives and will never be able to afford anything like this boat !!! Be frigging honest and admit that this stinking world is like this and quit pretending that these fucturds who get filthy rich get there because they worked in one year as much as a bunch of normal folks work in a lifetime !!!! Being a crook initiated in the crook societies is what makes some of us human beings more privileged than billions of others who have to toil just to scrape a living after getting hit with all sorts of taxes and fees on that miserable paycheck they depend on for their existence. Money is a representation of time and used energy. Please don’t tell me that the frigging millionaires and billionaires accumulated for themselves in just a few short years the equivalent of hundreds to thousands of years in time and the equivalent of used human energy of at least a few thousand to a few millions of people !!!! If you would take a look at the fortunes of some of these families like the Rothschilds, Rockefeller, Morgan, etc., were talking about something the equivalent of billions of folks working like slaves for a bunch of generations. The majority of humanity is in poverty because of this minority who never ever get enough for themselves through the compulsory and crooked systematic measures of a crooked society which developed for millennia on this planet. Eventually there’ll be a grand reset one day again, just like the one which happened a bit over four millennia ago. Only this time around with fire. This world is in desperate need of a total reset and it’s been due for quite some time now !
why don't they just bring back this model
Amazing!
Perfect for family adventures.
The inside is just gorgeous
Ah. Beautiful. Before the IKEA design team took over.
Juste un conseil : si vous faites des images sans commentaire arrangez vous pour investir dans un stabilisateur !!!
Wow it a dream Boot 🥰
Lots of work
What did she sell for ? Beautiful boat
I love this older privilege cats , nowadays , all manufacturers seem to use Ikea design interiors
Anyone know what year this cat is from?
Какой шикарный катамаран.... Хочу, такой же.... + Мммм....
Why am i poor?
Wide catamaran. Beautiful interior starting at 3:30. Thanks for sharing.
So very nice, such as beautiful boat!
I love the video EXCEPT you didn’t show most of the second hull. I know it wasn’t a mirror copy of the first hull. 😢
So what is forward and aft of the galley?
Now l have found the exact boat all l need is lotto...
Love it. Will he take $575,000 USD???
That was two years ago and no he did not take $575k for it because I was three years too late.
Beautiful boat but the video is poorly done
The Sailing Zatara channel lives on one of these, a 2009 I think, and have been sailing around the world on it. 6 people and a cat. No problems.
LOVE their blog...

Kevin Duffey dont ya wish you got an answer? I’m wondering the same thing. I just want stability.
Theirs is a 2006, and the layout seems to be different
The cat just died
How is it stack up against Lagoon & Leopard on the same size boat?
Look for 60+ ft

It’s not the same boat ⛵️
This is four cabins layout, theirs is five. Also main deck is a bit different type.
If I was lucky enough to own this boat I would rename her "White".

Buy a Lagoon 😁
Wish had a million dollars to spend.
Amazing boat... how do I get one!!!
Absolutely my favorite Cat. The Privilege 585 is amazing and this is by far my favorite layout.
Even rich people regret buying these expensive money pits. Imagine regular folk buying one of these. You'll be in the poor house within the year.
mr zed ??? “Regular folk” couldn’t afford to purchase this so imagining them taking care of the upkeep is a little impossible.

worst video editing ever. completely ruined the walkthrough.
cheese n rice
I viewed many Catamarans on UA-cam but I must say the layout of the Privileged class is by far the best design.
whoever has the privilege of Privilege can kiss my ass.
Joseph Hinton They have better things to do.
overly dramatic video. Just get to it and show me the effing boat.

You probably mistook the second "hand basin" which is rally a bidet ;)
