All Americans can learn from Native Elders and others to keep and defend our good traditions.

This is not tradition. The tradition aspect of this comes from riding down steep banks from times of war or raids to get to or away from something faster. I don’t think we ever would’ve willingly gone down something like this with our horses that we’ve loved and respected forever. I’m not sure if I would say this is abuse but it is definitely way too dangerous for the horses and riders alike.
