Man.. This is one of the WORSE lists I have seen ... Everyone one of those reasons are pretty much Bullsh*t.. A turbo engine may be ok for some.. but the V6 engine is an something a lot of people want. The only thing I wish the Ridgeline would have is a traditional shifter - instead of a push button shifter..

Do a search on gasoline fuel stations in NYC and the prices. $5-6/gallon in Mid Manhattan vs near JFK airport $3/gal. New combustion tech gives 3000 HWY, 4800 City in range, 4000 miles average. This large range allows a person to fill up every 2.5 to 4 months and do so at lower prices when out and about. Also, with 240 MPG city and heat pump tech that gives 12 times longer time with the heater on, nobody will go cold. EVs just can't give the range, especially in Winter. They can't maintain temperatures in Winter a long time either. 67 kwh (2 gallons) with EV vs 20 gallons at 674 kwh x 4 = 2696 effective Kwh of heat while parked with heat pump engine tech. New combustion tech makes EV obsolete.

Stay away from the all turbo engines . They are not designed for heavy pulling . They all have rubber bands r oil pumps and auto manufacturers has to change the drive belt at 100,000 miles. This person doesn’t know anything about engines.

What about the fact that when involved in an accident however slight. panel repair shops don’t want them in the building as they may suddenly self destruct possibly destroying the building.

Rather than either or, in a two car household they make a lot of sense as a city car or semi-rural. Charging at home solves many of the infrastructure problems. Having run two EVs for years (one for kids and one for parents) works well. With an ICE car for trips. Have never needed to use public charging over 5 years with minimal planning and only about 40 mile range (2 old Leafs). So can be made to work where there is more than one car per family. Most families.

I think the Ridgeline is a good option for many urban and suburban owners and is marketed above the Maverick and Santa Cruz. However, I think the biggest challenge for Honda is the price. I would have liked to buy one in 2017 but chose the Ram 1700 Tradesman 4x4 Crew Cab V-6 for $30K and much cheaper than the Ridgeline. Maybe Honda could provide a more economical Ridgeline with a trim level similar to the Ram Tradesman. Skid plates and 9 inch ground clearance similar to the Subaru offerings would make it more appealing to the soft roader enthusiasts. The 4x4 traction control in the Ridgeline, Passport and Pilot is excellent in my opinion.

EVs are dangerous. Risk of fires, the computers that drive these machines can malfunction leaving people locked in and unable to escape after accidents and or causing other accidents. They don't perform well in cold temperatures and neither do the chargers. The rare minerals and resources they require create destruction & devastation on the land and the people mining them. They require huge amounts of water which can become contaminated. The land stays contaminated. They aren't good for long distant trips, leaving people stranded. The use of electricity for heating and manufacturing etc is compromised to charge these heavy cars that are damaging to roads.They also require more parking spaces. L

If Honda offered a 450hp Type-R version with a 6.speed manual for around $50K they might see some interest. Right now it's as exciting as a rental Kia.

we had to have air bags for safety ,collapsible front panels for safety ,seat belts for safety , otherwise your new car was not allowed to be sold publicly , but we can burn to death legally now ? thermal runaway is real but why is it ignored

EVs sounded like a good idea at first but it became clear that EVs are a bad idea when the government started pushing EVs

There is but one reason it's not selling. Ford Maverick. It can be equipped for identical capability for thousands less and better MPG, or if someone isn't going to be towing, they can get the hybrid again, for thousands less, and the thing will absolutely kill it in MPG. IF someone needs more truck than the Maverick, they won't go with a Ridgeline as it's not substantially more capable. As far as the drivetrain itself, a belt driven cam setup was done away with by almost every other manufacturer 15 years ago. Honda needs to get back to the drawing board, literally, and build a hybrid model of the Ridgeline and maybe they need to consider a Civic/CR-V based model.

It's a bit outdated now that we have new GM twins, Colorado and Canyon, and a new Ford Ranger. I hope that the next generation of Ridgeline has the front end that we're seeing on the new Passport. Also, I wish Honda would come out with a new compact truck to compete with the Maverick.

It may not be for everyone, but it's engine will definitely outlast those turbo 4cyl engine. Plus it's the most comfortable of all midsize truck for both driver and rear passengers.

I had an ev and it was only good as a city car. Also it was only good in summer. (spring autumn winter was also very bad for the range) Back to gas!

The hilarity of "hardcore truck enthusiasts". When 99% of the time they hardly put anything in the bed, or haul anything. A guy buying an F250 will never buy a Ridgeline. But in urban settings it does just fine. The repair thing is bonkers too. Considering Honda's reputation for quality. Probably means a Ridgeline will be running far longer than it's competition. What they need to do is build a capable light pickup thats AFFORDABLE.

Newer EV’s are addressing some of the issues with cold climate. Tesla is in my opinion is ahead of the game with this. Yes EV’s still lose range but not live the older ones.

As an electrician I've always been against EV's, not a fully dependable vehicle. No infrastructure, homes are not set up for it, it goes on

I LOVED the original version just wished they upgraded the drivetrain to more like a Tacoma. No the original wasn't a great work truck but for playing on the beach or camping it was awesome. But the 4×4 version that i had was a joke it needed to be more like the Tacoma and I would have kept buying it!

Electric Vehicle COULD have been a good idea, if marketed to local governments for cab and bus service, or to localized industry for local deliveries, but they needed to build these vehicles with a slide out or drop-down platform for battery access or quick removal/replacement, not 'formed' into central cavities with the car built around them. After the technology of that infrastructure was developed, then into cars for recreational / daily work use. They just don't fit into normal daily lifestyles, where the car conforms to the needs, rather than we have to conform to the car's limitations. IDEA: Build the batteries into a sealed compartment that completely closes off all outside air on high heat indications, and locks off all wiring to it, requiring fire department unlocking, like elevators regulated by the state. Heat can start fires, lack of Oxygen can stop them. Or does Lithium produce Oxygen?

lets see.. 4 cyl (fail) starting at 40k up to at least 55-60k with all the soy boy millennial foo foo amenities that pamper you in a safe space.
