    That was a good one! I think maybe the one sentence where you say around 4 o clock needs to use the kanji 時(じ) that you used in the previous sentence. I'm open to correction because I could be wrong; but I'm pretty sure there would be a particle に after よ時ごろ so that the sentence is formed technically more properly and that part means something like "at around 4 o clock." It's great to see you're really keeping up studying.

    hey mate, just randomly found your channel and very impressive that you post a video everyday. I am learning japanese too and one thing I observed is that you might over-rely on the Romaji of the words, they help but Japaense don't exactly pronounce that way. So maybe you want to focus on learning how the hiragana really pronunce and stick with it or otherwise it would sound like English. Anyway good work and Keep going!

    Hey, just a couple of things. 毎週 (まいしゅう) means every week, not every weekend. It probably sounds close because 週末 (しゅうまつ) means weekend. 毎(まい) means every, 週(しゅう) means week. I think sometimes it could be too literal to look at it this way but in this case 毎週 (まいしゅう) really does mean every week. It's probably a good idea to look into pronunciation. The ways that certain kana are pronounced is different than how we make our English sounds if that makes sense. So learning how to pronounce つ how つ is said (not like how す is said) is pretty important. I sometimes still struggle to pronounce words with the more proper pronunciation of り, and also I forget sometimes how technically the mouth shape is different with し than how we would say words like "she" in English. Good to see you're still keeping up studying. All the best!

    I think it's imperative that you start learning actual grammar because it would clear up some confusions that you have. Like for example the を (wo) particle that you get wrong sometimes. sometimes you put it instead of the first お (o) syllable of a word like およぎます that you spell よぎます with a を before it (which is grammatically incorrect), other times you confuse the を particle as a part of the word following it like when you said/wrote おたべます instead of just たべます. If I recall correctly you said you were learning exclusively with duolingo ? If so I might suggest you to use other primary sources for japanese because duolingo is very lacking when it comes to actually explaining things, which is why you're still confused about exactly what あります means or how present/future tense works even after 5 months of learning (btw there is no future tense in japanese). If you want some kind of helping hand for that, I suggest to you the incredible YT channel "Game Gengo", and especially his Genki playlists as well as his N5 grammar playlist. This will help you understanding the basic grammar of japanese, which will in my opinion clear a lot of things you might find confusing and help you progress faster. Good luck!

    I think you pronunciation a little off. You still seem to have the tendency to pronounce the words with English vowel sounds. One cool thing about Japanese is that there are only 5 distinct vowel sounds (not accounting for pitch accents). That is to say, O sound in の, も, と, ご, ろ are pronounced exactly the same, regardless of which word you may find them in. There would be five in total in Japanese, A, I, U, E, O. This should make Japanese pronunciation easier to get the hang of. Note that these are vowel sounds, which is distinct from vowel letters. This is different from English which can have many different ways of pronouncing the same vowel character. The words dO, dOnt, cOw, pOt all pronounce the letter O differently which often trips up English learners. Do you incorporate audio spoken by native speakers in your study? Trying to imitate them as best as possible might be a good way to correct how you speak. Keep it up! がんばれ!!!

      roughly, here are some english words that sound similar: a = lAg, dAd, crAm (that's the sound) i = Eat, Even, scrEEn u = rUde, fOOd, cUte e = Every, sElling, Excellent o = sOmber, hOt, bOnfire

    I'm sure it's just a typo but just in case it isn't: The "わ" (wa) is supposed to be a "は" (ha) which is pronounced just like "わ" in this context since it's being used as a topic marker particle. The correct sentence would then be "ホテルはあそこですか?". It's also a pretty odd sentence, but I guess all beginner sentences sound a bit weird.

    Are you familiar with the concept of "mora" ? It's basically how we call the units of sound that are used in japanese. so for example the word あります the word is composed of 4 moras: A-RI-MA-SU, each written with it's own hiragana. Understanding this might help you with the pronunciation of some tricky words like おてあらい which made you struggle. You tried to pronounce it as if ら and い were making one single fused vowel sound (like the "ray" in blu-ray" But since it's actually two separate mora: RA and I, they should be pronounced independantly from one another. So it's always O-TE-A-RA-I (with the "i" always pronounced like the english "ee" in words like "bee") and never -O-TE-A-RAY. The い can alsoctually be used to make the previous -e vowel longer but I don't know if you've learned that yet

    • @wbgjp
      @wbgjp 23 дні тому

    I would recommend immersing in japanese Like anime manga TV and UA-cam and do it with japanese subtitles only, the reason for this is because if it had english subs on it your brain would be too focused on that and you would learn nothing, but with japanese subtitles your brain is forced to figure it out, also it will improve your comprehension of words in a sentence, also don't try to understand everything while doing this. For UA-cam try to find stuff that's entertaining and watch it in japanese with the closed caption button on, now there usually auto generated but they're usually right so don't worry about that. Now ideally the input your getting needs to be around your level but don't worry about that if it's fun to watch, watch it. Also would recommend looking up language learning methods like refold, ajatt, etc. Best of luck, you're amazing for documenting your journey!!
