Visiting the shelter. Kharkiv, Ukraine 🇺🇦. September 2022.
The upcoming winter, together with Russia's new tactic of daily bombardments, using drones and the destruction of water and gas supplies, as well as electricity and heating, generate the risk of a new wave of refugees and thousands of displaced people.
There is a significant chance that many will end up homeless both in Poland and in their home country.
The war is entering a new stage with the newly appointed Russian general in charge of the so-called "special military operation." With the upcoming winter and with renewed attacks on civilian infrastructure, our Ukrainian friends will need our support more than ever.
The list of the most necessary items is listed below. Your support is invaluable!
Thermo-active underwear: 10 sets - 200 USD (we need 100 sets)
Polar fabric for sewing winter clothes for civilians and soldiers - 1 000 USD
Portable diesel air heater system with batteries - 600 USD per set (we need at least 100 sets)
Medium-size cargo van for transportation - 15 000 USD
Power generators - from 1 000 USD per piece
To help us with our mission, you can e make a tax-deductible donation to Friends of the Taube Center Foundation. Using the link below, you can choose the form of payment most comfortable for you: wire, check, or credit card.

What particular ‘donuts’ are you referring to? From your comment I’ve absolutely no idea whether you’re appreciating and supporting what Professor Lipstadt is putting forward or arguing against it. (From either a hardcore or softcore perspective)

Thank you so much for this important talk! I am myself in an artistic research about memory, resilience and an artistic interpretation of remembrance of current forms of memorials. I just bought the book of Natalia Romik and you helped me a lot to deepen my field of knowledge.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge of Majdanek camp. My Grandmother’s brother was murdered there in 1942, but we can’t find any records from the camp. He was only 20 years old 😢 I will definitely buy your book to learn more about what Janina did in Majdanek.

From your narrative:"During the WWI the Germans partially devastated the synagogue". Perhaps you should add that there are no Jews left in the village because all of them were taken out into the forest by the Nazis and murdered.

There was no such thing as ,,holocaust" in Poland. There was no Poland in that time. It was ,,Gross Deutschland!". The GERMAN occupation, the GERMAN terror under the GERMAN law. If you are going to Dublin, many start from an other place, that ,,holocaust in Poland".

Most hiding places were quite prosaic: attics, cellars, dugouts in fields and forests, bunkers, etc., many Ingeniously camouflaged. However, I am impressed by Natalia Romik's dedication to tell the story of the efforts of Jews to survive the Holocaust and of the courage of those in the local population to shelter their Jewish brethren. I would venture to guess that the overwhelming majority of those places no longer exist.

seems the jews that fled to the forest and hid in various places had a better chance of surviving the war than the Jews that went to the concentration camps.

This talk gets better and better as it goes along. Really excellent, thanks. The conversations that consider the role of perpetrators alongside the centrally important work of representing victims' experiences in 'meaning making' are enlightening. Also, really grounded thoughts on selfies at memorial sites and the role of fiction towards the end. So glad to have spent the time watching. Thanks again.
