It's 2007 and this cherried old sled, a rare one out of 335 with a removeable t-top sunroof, is getting shipped off to collectors in Finland. But not before Old Pa takes it out for one last spin.
Ο νεκρός δρόμος ((((
Why are the authority trying so hard for people not to see or use rail carts on the line?
Pick an answer you're comfortable with - 1 - It doesn't belong to you 2 - It's unsafe 3 - It's illegal 4 - They just don't like you personally
@@DrLumpyDMus 1 - It belongs to the city of San Diego which means taxes purchaced it. Which makes it public. 2- It looks fine to run a rail cart on. (use at own risk) 3- It's illegal to use a publicly owned road? No 4- My personality is so awesome. The City Of San Diego would ask me if they could fix any problems on the rails for the rail carts.
By bike is definitely the way to do it. Just went this spring, great trip!
This very nice recording deserves a lot more love. It told me everything I wanted to about this line in a very short amount of time with nice images and maps. Thanks!
Just went this weekend
How was it I’ve been wanting to go
Great info
The engineers don't wave from the trains anymore, not like they did back in 1954.chris

As long as you have a good background record, its worth the $500 trespassing fine, if u ask me.
Awesome video thanks for sharing
Good video, thanks for the info
1:00 I8 has sections as steep as 6%, but steepest for steam engines is around 2.2%. www.google.com/maps/@32.6486136,-116.1031629,3a,34.6y,56.67h,85.81t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sjNgfVkESOFnLkOkoUmrc6A!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
Goat Canyon Trestle Bridge now posted as No Trespassing as of October 2017.
really
Most ignored sign in a 20 mile radius.
Nice car but just wrong that we continue to ship American built muscle out of country. Soon there will be none of these beauties left. Thankfully I got to own ,69 ,73 ,77,79 and where the best cars Chrysler ever built.
She's a beauty!
My 78 Doba has seat belt buzzers
Where did you get the side louvers.
There factory
T Tops, hell yeah that's 80's finest option.
@N330AA The track is not entirely abandoned, and one can get into trouble walking on it. This line goes into Mexico a few miles to the west of Campo. Pacific Southwest Railway Museum has regular excursions on it.
very interesting,
I have one of these car, t-top, needing restoring.
Shit, I think i just saw this same car at the car shop today for 9900€ (about 13800$) with t-top, white paint and red interior? I Just started to look some information in internet and found this video. Sweet ride man! (I Live in Finland, so it very possible that this is the same car)
@corvus06 yes they are rare the one we had met a sad end after being sold..... so thats one less..... come to think of it i have only seen two others neither was a t-top
@weishapl69 "Old Pa" says he got those letters at a booth at a car show.
Well done. Thanks.
I work with a man the was an engineer for the SD&A. he was saying that they ran mostly at night because the trolley uses their main line in some parts of the county...what a way to run a railroad!
God I miss my 300! How I wish I'd never sold it.
I have a t-top one for resto.
Mine had a vinyl top when I bought it originally, but the vinyl top was in such bad shape I had to take it off. It's now just a hard top with T-tops, but I kept all the original hardware just in case I want to put the vinyl back later.
I've got one with T-Tops. I still have the original wheels, too. The 360 is still strong enough to pull down a house. I've had the car for 14 years now and I'm never getting rid of it.
What an education!
WOW, that's 2kewl Tracey! And it took me this long to find it!
john coleman is tight.
OMG! My parents got me a brand new '79 Chrysler 300 for graduation! This video really brought back memories. I really wish I still had that awesome car! Thanks for making this 46 yr old feel 18 again!
The Vinyl top on a 79 300 may be even rarer. I think it had to be special ordered because it normally did not come on that model. I've seen and been inside three with tee tops but I've never even seen one with the Vinyl half top with or without the tee-bar...
Yeah, the T-top was pretty rare, I think only 336 of this model were manufactured with it in '79.
Vinyl Top and Tee Top, possibly a one of one car...I have a tee top edition with a go wing in my garage...Those cars are COOL!!!
The door was closed before the key was put into the ignition, so it didn't buzz. To our knowledge, seat belt buzzers didn't exist for Chryslers in 1979.
I noticed that when you started up this 1979 Chrysler, it made no buzz sound at all. Did this Chrysler never have a buzzer or did you disconnect it?
Great Video!
nice i own one cool car.should have done one last burn out for the camera.
