No, this repair is for inside the car. The most obvious issues for yours will be a failed fan motor, or a faulty temperature sensor. There are other reasons for this failure, too.......

If you use their recommended descaling fluid, and follow the instructions in the handbook, they make it very easy 😁

I used the differential and beatings from a different car to rebuild this one - if you can find an exact match, it's easier to swap as an assembly, complete, in the housing.

It could well be the same fault causing the symptoms you describe

I’ve had this before where an engine earth lead set wasn’t refitted - from memory there’s a similar batch, into a bolt-on eye, at the top back corner of the engine, near the ECU ..... What work were you doing, what did you take off, and why were you doing it ?? If all you did was remove the ECU , there’s a suggestion the ECU has died .....

When you tried to turn on the car did you look at the dashboard its a security system light is solid red when trying to start it up

Derek Maldonado yes! That’s a vital earth. One of the bolt holes nearby is its home. You’ll be lucky if you haven’t fried the ECU with backfeed 😳

Mine becomes louder when coolant reaches 90°C but otherwise it's quiet. How long have you driven it with this noise? By the way can you please post a video with the new kit fitted, both with cold engine and warm engine? I'm curious :-)

TeraVolt as long as it took me to get it into the workshop & do the diagnosis! I told the customer they've probably killed the engine by leaving it so long - you will do the same to yours if you leave it rattling ......

Didn't know you were the receiving end ;-) heh heh. So you think the chain ended eating the casing up and filling the system with shards much like a failing ac compressor? Well, in my case it's not rattling that loud btw (can't hear it from inside the car while stopping at a red light fir example), somewhat quieter & normal for a car at my mileage, these engines do that. Always changing oil and filter yearly or even earlier with very good quality products (i'm using the genuine 9192425 filter for ex), maybe the customer neglected that aspect and the chain wore too much as a result.

TeraVolt sadly, the engine design is bad. It's a simplex chain, severely under strength for its job !! Yearly oil changes are insufficient if you cover large mileage, or do a lot of short journeys, especially in traffic. Oil is the most vital part of every engine, and is usually underestimated & over ignored. But it keeps me busy when all these faults combine !! If the chain is rattling at all, it's already dead. But the rattle could be from multiple other components in the engine ....... predictably 😝

Burnett4201 when does it misfire - mine used to misfire at about 4000rpm, and i found the rear catalytic converter [left side in 'tech' parlance] - between the engine & the bulkhead, had started to collapse & was blocking the breathing of the engine - this was accompanied by a 'moan' from the intake when i used lots of accelerator ......

+Burnett4201 hello again - P1800 relates to the VIAS solenoid itself - did you delete the fault codes after replacing it ?? - if so, you have poor wiring / connection / signal to the solenoid - my diagnostic machine can trigger the solenoid remotely, perhaps you should try that too ....... your 'old' solenoid may well be perfectly OK, so you can sell it on ...... P0306 could be any or all of these: - Faulty spark plug 6 - Clogged or faulty fuel injector 6 - Faulty ignition coil 6 - Fuel injector 6 harness is open or shorted - Fuel injector 6 circuit poor electrical connection - Ignition coil 6 harness is open or shorted - Ignition coil 6 circuit poor electrical connection - Insufficient cylinder 6 compression - Incorrect fuel pressure - Intake air leak !! the 1800 doesnt come up anymore thank god now im left with this damn misfire and im starting to learn it may be the electrical harness

You need to plug into the OBD (onboard diagnostic) plug down by your right toes under the dash ... Numerous code readers / resetters are available online & in car stores - or, ask your friendly local mechanic - you DO have one, don't you ??!! #MnMService
