if the singer would, just for 5 seconds, stop pretending to be kurt cobain, this band could really grow into its own. The music is fantastic, but the singer is ACTING like cobain instead of BEING himself, in every possible way from posture to how he holds his guitar... its so cringe and annoying.... but Is the Is are is one of my fav albums of all time :)
UH lol They imitate our Cultures and how we grew up. MANY from their generation are doing it. Telling our Stories and treating us like dress up. It is incredibly uncomfortable.
Love this band music but I cannot watch them play live because I don't know why but there's something super try-hard about the singer and I can't even look at him perform - just something fake about him. But their music is superb
man DIIV is such an amazing band, their music just takes me to another dimension. sounds like they are only getting better live too. one of my favorite bands of all time.
I saw Road the Wet Sprocket twice. They were so nervous the first time that they never looked up. I would consider that "shoe gaze" by definition. This is simply great music.
Alright man, similar to skin game is waste of breath which is a great song but here’s some others you should check out bent(roi’s song), human, sometime, oshin, between tides, and air conditioning hope you enjoy them.
There are definitely similarities, I'd say it's very slowcore, post rock, and shoegaze inspired alongside the alt rock/grunge vibe. Smashing Pumpkins is also more shred heavy, and there's a crop of young bands tapping into that sound pretty hard currently.
just imagine for a person that don’t know diiv, going into this show and having this blast of a show with one of the greatest setlist I’ve seen of them. I would feel like I’ve accomplished something, like being in the right place, right time
As I understand the situation, Devin was removed from DIIV due to a slew of inflammatory remarks he made on 4Chan. I feel like Colin is a good addition wherever he lands, but Devin definitely was a good bassist. I don't know specifics of what was said, or to who, but here ( pitchfork.com/news/57837-diivs-devin-ruben-perez-under-fire-for-sexist-racist-homophobic-remarks-on-4chan/ ) is an article on that situation if you feel inclined to check it out.
its funny you say that because it really feels like before Elliott died he was gonna lean more into the noisey stuff. Could you imagine a Noise Pop/Shoegazey Elliott Smith record? Would've been awesome!
The other commenter is probably referring to his look/aesthetics. Which is grungey. I'd say without Nirvana the landscape of music would be altered heavily, but I also get not being into them. Not a big deal either way.
@@stephendorn5875 No doubt about Neil Young and Crazy Horse. I meant more about Nirvana popularizing it and becoming such a force to where labels were looking for the next "Nirvana" to sign, so they could line their pockets too. I like Nirvana too, but in a detached way.
I love this perfomance ❤
Best recoding live I've seen.
This is pretty damn good.
Haha nice jellybean unbrella there
UH Is that whole fucking Generation imitating everything how we grew up ?

They are Culture Vultures
Great album. The guitar sounds take me back to the 90s. One of the few bands around I need to see live.
Yeah They are pretending to be our Generation and Cultures and our Parent's Generation and Cultures.
does anybody have the bootleg rar? cheers
28:49 басист насрал ))) ну ничего ничего хд
I was there! Well sorta, I worked that night next to Lake Perris 😂

man DIIV is such an amazing band, their music just takes me to another dimension. sounds like they are only getting better live too. one of my favorite bands of all time.
The song Take your Time ❤️❤️It moves me as only a few others do
never gotten a chance to see them over the last decade but what a performance
I just turned 58 this summer. Diiv is the sound I've been looking for since the 80's. They are on my bucket list of bands to see live. Thank you Diiv.
This is "shoegaze" or "dream pop" if you want to research other bands that also might captivate you.
You couldn't have been looking very hard.
Me too!!
I love this for you! Seeing them live is a whole experience in itself, definitely recommended.

do you have anymore of these? helped film these and trying to source clips
I don't, I'm sorry. This is the only set I paid for and recorded
Absolutely phenomenal
Simplesmente espetacular...
Thanks for uploading this. Awesome set and recording.
This is absolutely one of the best things in UA-cam.
Thanks so much, it's all due to DIIV and the folks who provided the livestream.
blankenship!!!
36:14 i have the exact same reaction everytime i hear Taker lol
I love diiv
Нормально так
Mrd vengan a Perú, quiero volver a escucharlos, me encanta su música
See you in Off festival 2022 <3
I wish I could go to that. I'll live vicariously through you, enjoy it
se ya thereeeeee
take your time is gorgeous, I'm glad i finally found a live version, thank you!
Me too! For me Take Your Time is “my” song.
Ahhhhh finally a DIIV set playing all of the new stuff with well mixed audio
ชื่อ วงอะไรหรอครับ
Неебическое выступление
Beyond perfection ✨

DIIV fans, put me on to your favorite songs. I listened to skin game and I'm a big fan. Enjoy that riff alot

@@Luii2kk how do you pronounce their name I just got into them finally lol
@@Carryusaway_ their name is pronounced like the word dive just spelled differently.
@@Luii2kk thanks that’s exactly what I was thinking just wasn’t sure
Incarnate Devil dropkicked me into the sun when I first heard it
don't they remind you of Smashing pumpkins (siaseme dream) era? at least with this album 'Deciever'.
There are definitely similarities, I'd say it's very slowcore, post rock, and shoegaze inspired alongside the alt rock/grunge vibe. Smashing Pumpkins is also more shred heavy, and there's a crop of young bands tapping into that sound pretty hard currently.
The outro of For The Guilty gives me a lot of smashing pumpkins vibes
@@XeroMB recommendations for which young bands are tapping into the SP energy right now?

How do you pronounce there name?
@@Carryusaway_ pronounced like “dive”. The writing is different cuz there was another band called like this too
@@Renatinho12ful did you know they are names “DIIV/Dive” after the Nirvana song, “Dive”?
That was me. My mind exploded!
That's exactly what happened to me 3 days ago in Katowice. Strong recommendation
Dude thank you so much. Do you have the other sets?
No I didn't get those, sorry.
Where is bass player before (i'm forget his name) ? And why did collin replace the bass player? My opinion, Collin better played guitar.

Good version of doused with out the 'scream '
Parece o SONIC YOUTH…
Very close to MBV...Pavement
Colin is such a great bass player
he has amazing backing vocals too
28:49 lmao
mah. Of all great things about the band...he mainly only plays the root note....not like one needs to be genius to do that
this sounds like a fresh heatmiser... love it!

Diiv sounds way better than Nirvana. I'm not sure why they're even mentioned in the same sentence 🤣
