What a wonderful prayer! 💗

I hope the fake account of Jasper ToeJam knows that there was NOT a Council meeting last night. We do not have a meeting on the 2nd Monday of the month. So like everyone else I was at home watching MNF.. and then that was terrible.. so I watched a movie while enjoying a cigar.

Ooh! @Jasper Toejam (totally a real name, I assure you), Don't forget to work at getting the Vehicular Bridge Voter Base too. Just tell people the other guy wanted a Pedestrian Bridge or something, I'm sure they will never look anyway.

The Bremer County Board of Supervisors have canvassed the Waverly vote. The mayoral race will go to a runoff between current mayor Charles Infelt and Dean Soash. Runoff Election for Mayor is Dec 5th. Please vote for Dean Soash.

I agree. It's embarrassing.. it's also embarrassing that our current Mayor will not out the item on an agenda so it can be discussed. We were ignored. He does not understand how Democracy works!! It's embarrassing for Waverly!

Waverly light and Power charges exorbitant amounts. I don't have a month UNDER $350 for electricity and we have a gas stove and gas dryer. I don't have a crappy job either, but I can't wait for my daughter to finish high school so we can move. We can't afford to live in Waverly. My wife works at the same place as people on City Council, so it isn't that she has a struggling job. We have decent jobs. Why is there so much resistance to council members fighting for lower living costs? This confuses me. Every council meeting has new plans to spend millions and millions of dollars-- to build bridges, pools, schools, things that Waverly doesn't have a tax base for. There's what 10000 people in the town, at the most?

You are very arrogant, Mr. Mayor. Every day more and more people see religion for the real evil it is. As we evolve we find ourselves unable to pretend god is real. Religion has had thousands of years to demonstrate any physical, repeatable proof of the existence of any god. Yet not one bit of evidence exists. Your beliefs are slowly but surely fading into what they truly are: myths and fairy tales.

Mayor, you have just lost your city money. Hope your bigotry keeps you warm at night.

Congratulations Mr. Mayor. You've all but ensured that Waverly will now waste money on a lawsuit it has no chance of winning, solely because you think that only the types of invocations you want to give should matter.

This is extremely offensive to non-theists when the mayor asserts that they must "be tolerant" of the theistic prayers which are the only type of invocation permitted at their city council meetings. That is because it is the height of HYPOCRISY for him to preach that those local citizens who do not believe as he does in a god(s) must be tolerant of his expressed religious beliefs, while he clearly demonstrates nothing but intentional exclusion of, and utter contempt for, the many residents of the Waverly community who do not likewise subscribe.

Kathy Olson asked and seemed to want any Council Person who had a rental property to not be able to vote. We should have taken her advice as she must not have done her homework. Her good friend Dan McKenzie has a rental and thus under Kathy's suggestion would not have been able to vote. Without McKenzie's YES vote.. The Resolution would have failed. It takes 4 yes votes to pass any City resolution and without McKenzie's vote there would have only been 3. Resolution does not pass. Obviously what she was requesting is not legal or really valid.. However, it is rather funny that if Council would have followed her request... The project she was so in favor of would not have passed.
