One of my favorite jeeps nice build😎
Thanks!

I’m curious do you think I should fix up my 2009 4 door Jeep (it’ll currently cost about 3k and it has 68k miles)?? Or keep it broken at the moment and buy an older 2003-2016 Toyota Tacoma or Tundra with less than 100k miles? Or if you have other suggestions I love to hear! 👂 🎉 Thanks!
Fix up the jeep. That sounds like a great jeep being it has low miles
@@TroyLee- thank you! 🙏
I think it's seriously a badass rig but I personally honestly dislike how the front springs are angled and bending.
I had them straight before. But the springs contacted the track bar mount. No change in handling, it's only looks and this is a trail rig so I don't care. Not worth the time or money to change it
@@TroyLee- I understand completely, as long as it's not binding up or anything why mess with it more. This is a awesome build though man.
Good looking zj 🤘
Thanks, yours looks good too
how many centimeters do you use wheel spacers on the rear axle? and on the front axle?
Not sure in centimeters. I don't remember exactly but something like 3" in the rear and 2" in the front
@@TroyLee- thx
A little bit of rain and Uhwarrie is a different world. I dont live far from Eldorado, you'll break your ride sometimes in there, but the adventure is worth it.
what front bumper is that on the 5.9. need one
So that is an ARB bumper that I cut up to look better
@@TroyLee- you do anything to the exhaust? I ordered a flow master 44 muffler that I’m going to install soon
Yeah it's catless and I put a 10 series muffler on it dumped right in the middle. I did a video on here of building the exhaust
Hey man, nice Jeep. I own a 97 zj limited and doing some stuff to it. Currently in the proces of putting in the DIY sliders. Yours look slick! Any chance you could put up a video talking and showing how you put them in. Especially how you welded them in om the bottom. What size beam you used etc? Cheers from the Netherlands
So that I did not do. It came with those sliders. I would check out bleepinjeep on youtube. It's going to be the same process as the xj's sliders/rockers
i got a 97 zj orvis, one of like 1200 ish so i hear you in the rarity part! I sold the 95 orvis i had but my 97 i actually have the original paperwork from when it was bought in 97 for 38$k and the original dealer window sticker also. Ill never sell it!
Nice!
Man that is one sweet zj.
Thanks man I appreciate it
Great job with your video tour. Who makes your springs?
They're rubicon express springs
ZJ’s are becoming obsolete. We need an update video 💪🏼
I got one coming soon. Made a few changes since the last one
Was/is this ZJ for sale? Coulda sworn I seen one exactly like this not too long ago when I was looking for a donor 5.9L lol
Not this one. I saw another one same color with beadlock wheels for sale recently. Probably that one
@@TroyLee- Ahh! Yeah I think it might be that same one. Hopefully have my 9er back up here shortly. Just got the feame stiffeners ordered up for it. Be cool to catch another 9er out at uwharrie at some point 🤙
Nice! What color is your zj? Hopefully we are going to URE in the next couple weeks. Waiting on my buddy to fix his jeep. Dickey bell should be open soon too
@@TroyLee- Its Slate Grey. Have had it for the last 10ish years, its been sitting the last 3 yeara, just letting the NC sun beat away at it. Havent had much time to tinker with it with school and traveling for work. Its nothing crazy, 7 inch Long armed on 35's, HP30/8.8 set up with lockers and 4.56 gears. Was my daily for a while until I picked up my car, so held off on Ton swapping it with coilovers. Its needs some TLC. Ive never been out to Uwharrie, but have heard good things. I came down here from PA about 5 years ago. Used to wheel up at Rausch Creek up there all the time. In addition to the ZJ, workin on my brothers 8" Long armed 4.7L stroked XJ and doing a frame swap/tub resto on my buddies YJ. Hopefully there will be an end too the madness soon.
Right on man. At least you didn't sell it. So you still have plenty of time to get it back on the trails. Hit me up when you get it back out there
Would you ever consider selling it?
I don't have any plans to sell it. But you never know. I could find a good deal on something else in the future. As for now I plan to keep it and continue building it
Got too much time and money to waste 🤷🏻♂️
What gear ratio do you use on the Dana 44 with the 37 tires?
I am running 4.11 gears. 4.56 or even 4.88 would also be a good gear set for this tire size
might be a hansen rear bumper, check out the "Master Pull Jeep ZJ" it's the ultimate ZJ ever built
Thanks for the info. I'll check it out
@@TroyLee- What's the coolest are the X-max ZJ fenders, formerly Icelandic fenders, if I was doing a trail ZJ I'd use that MasterPull ZJ as the model it has the original Icelandic fenders on it and looks amazing and it's on 37's with some trick axles...
@@VenturaITthe Icelandic company was bought by notch customs who still make them. I had a 12 week wait, but they are awesome. @jeepzj2.0
Where did you get the whole tie rod and sway bar kit for the front ?
The tie rod is home made. The drag link and trac bar is the ruff stuff DIY steering kit
How tall is it now? 6”
Around 7-8". In this video I lowered it to around 6". But I raised it back up after flexing it out

Wish my zj looked like this, mines a 💩📦 for now 😏
Thanks man! My zj was no gem when I first got ahold of it
Hello, what brand and size are the front and back springs?
Rubicon express 5.5" front and 4.5" rear. On grand cherokees the height varies because those numbers apply to the cherokee. Also you can't use my jeep as an example for height using those springs because I am using different spring mounts on a different axle and using spring spacers. So my lift height is closer to 8"
@@TroyLee- thank
3:17 Dang ol XJ hit hard, cheers to her for trying though.
Yeah her dad made her do it. Off camera I tried to help her and have her back up to take the easier line and her dad made her gun it forward into the wall instead. They spent at least 15 min there sending it
@@TroyLee- Skee Yee 😄
looks better for sure. Think the biggest reason it looks taller in the front is really just the cut fenders vs the rear ones. Not sure how much of that you can fix with the rear doors staying uncut.
Yeah I like the lower look better. But unfortunately I raised it back up days later and it's stayed in its big size. The issue is when it goes up a obstacle, it bottomed out the rear. So until I work out a better coil for the rear that takes a heavier load, it has to stay big. All the recent videos of offroading are all with it big again. You can check those out. I got more comfortable in it and it's body roll
Sweet Wheelin Action!
Thanks!
Seen ya guys out there, nice rigs!! I was out in my xj probably the only one around with a chrome grille
Nice man! Maybe we will see you out there again. We might be out again this weekend

Yes 5.9

Yes 1998
Time for a new door!
Yeah it got worse after that video too. Now the window doesn't go up more than halfway. Track on the inside broke a tac weld and it goes all over the place. So a new door is in the works
Question...on your badge in back, what's a "Litre" ? lol
Haha I hadn't noticed that. I just looked it up and supposedly that's thr Canadian liter? I guess certain year cherokees and grand cherokees had litre instead of liter. Here is a article of people talking about it www.cherokeeforum.com/f59/help-settle-arguement-litre-vs-liter-130170/
my CA zj has 'litre' and my US zj has 'liter'. Well, someone stole it or it fell off but was a funny thing to notice after like a year of owning both
I found that just using a WJ sway bar fixes a lot of the ZJ instability. The WJ sway bar is larger and about twice as thick. I used TJ sway bar links or something like that, that was longer and bar pin eliminators to hook up the sway bar. ZJ rear sway bar is a joke and WJ has a completely different shap but is also twice as thick. To sue the WJ sway bar you just move is a set of holes forward on the un. Where the radiator mount is you have to cuz out the corners on the stock WJ sway bar bracket. WJ sway bar bracket is 1/4 in thick to so thats even an improvement. After swapping the ZJ feels way more stable and sportier. Improves corning a LOT and no problems off road! I think IRO has a rear sway bar for te ZJ thats twice as thick as stock to. Might be some one else that sells it but its out their.
I'm planning to get a antirock sway bar for the rear in the future. Right now it has no sway bars at all
Nice rig! With that dana 44 front axle, did u swap the pitman arm to a wagoneer pitman arm or anything? Or are you running a ZJ pitman arm with no issues? Thanks
I am running zj pitman arm drilled to accept bigger bolt for ruffstuff drag link kit
Something is off with this door panels 😂
Are you talking about the exterior trim not matching the other doors? That's because the limited trim is extremely hard to find and it didn't have it when I got it. And there is a huge dent underneath that it's covering. So I found a trim piece for a not limited and threw it on until a find the correct limited one
@@TroyLee- can't be rotated to match the trim lanes? :D
@oktanskioktan9372 haha no you cannot flip it upside down. It's not like a perfect rectangle. Plus how it mounts and the fender side and door side are different. Even top is different from bottom. And only at a certain distance does it even remotely look like that's possible. If you look closely one panel the grooves go in, and the other they come out and have an extra indention line. So no it's not possible to flip them. I am not too worried about it because this is a offroad rig and those things will get torn off again on the trail
That guy in the blue tj worked at kc xtreme for a long time, cool ass dude and sweet Jeep !
Yeah man all those guys in the video are cool
Keep it under 60.😂
That jeep is so beautiful man keep her for as long as you can I miss my zj everyday
Thanks man!
what kit do you have for long arms thank you
So none of my suspension is a kit. It's all home built. It's custom triangulated 4 link in the rear. Front is modified 78 ford front suspension
15,000 of them were made that's a big difference. this is a strange beast having that Bronco front end. nice rig, I would go with a Clayton 7 inch longarm lift once you are ready to redo a lot of the stuff on this rig
Yeah I meant 18k. I noticed it after I published it and was waiting for somebody to call me on it. As far as suspension for d60's when i make the change, I will be building everything myself in house
Where did you get this front bumper
Front bumper is arb that's had the top section cut off to make it look cleaner
Lovely car. Been driving G/Cs for near 20 years.loved my ZG firstbut now WJs. No interest in newer models. Only the crap brakes stopped me driving ZGs. I'm sure you've fixed that right ?
Xfap?
@@TroyLee- crap...I keep forgetting to read before I post
Oh gotcha. I don't have any issues with my brakes. I have a 78 bronco front axle and brakes so that could be why
@@TroyLee- Yeah I think the brakes are adequate unless you are towing heavy loads.
A0131 FIT 1996 1997 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Drilled Brake Rotors Ceramic Pads....Hello friend.. If you have a chance to install these, it will be very cool..
I don't think there is a better ZJ on earth than you. It's a really good car and take care.. I'm your fan and I want you to visit me in Georgia..
Thanks! I really appreciate it. I have spent every weekend for almost a year working on it
What you did to Maga now was necessary.. I have separated it from the side.. as G-klass has
I want to be friends with you
Hello friend.. I subscribed to your channel.. Very cool car. I also want it to look like mine, but there is no way to do that here :( If you have any details that you don't need, maybe you can send them to me somehow..:) I invite you to my country.. I will take you everything with my car. ..
