AXON Fleet 3 Process Optimization is manufacturing line overhaul and rebalancing project for Axon’s Fleet 3 in-car video system. In terms of project scope, this project is focused on: identifying the correct amount of operators to run on any given manufacturing line, finding ways to improve floor space utilization, optimizing the manufacturing layout, and moving towards a one-piece product flow amongst the 15 individual kit components. The project deliverables are: achieve 75% operator efficiency and increase the weekly throughput capability from 576 to 1000 Fleet 3 Car Kits per week, providing as-is cycle time data, and creating a model to identify weekly pallet space requirements based on weekly production estimates.
