Love it! It was very relaxing watching you create this feather!❤
@@peggyfrank5374 Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed it. 🥰
No caution about how bad mica powder is for you lungs if you dont wear a mask?
Huh, didn't realize that! I know it's bad to inhale zinc powder, but didn't realize mica powder is the same. Thanks for the info!
@@corriefrankcreates No problem. Better to be safe than sorry.
@@eddiechilds9053 Definitely!
I have purple mica and silver mica that I mix with my fountain pen inks at the moment, I have just ordered some watercolour paints and can not wait to try mixing my mica with them
@@tonyshaw13 Ooh, that is going to be beautiful! I hope you have fun mixing your metallic colors. 🤗
Excellent and very inspiring work!
@@Fuluca Thank you so much!
Beautiful! 😍
@@peggyfrank5374 Thank you so much! 🥰
Gorgeous. You've just become my inspiration to get into my watercolours. I mostly saw less realistic and detailed works with them, so I was a bit hesitant, but I've got no doubts anymore they can do a perfect job painting realism. Up to now I mostly used acrylics or drew. Cheers! Keep sharing your amazing artwork. 😊
@@inspiredbyalllife Aw, thank you so much for this lovely comment! I’m so happy to hear that this has inspired you to break open your watercolours! Yes, I love flipping expectations with the medium since they’re usually softer and a bit more abstract, but you can absolutely get hyper-realistic with them. So excited for you to get started, and thank you for watching my videos. 🥰
Hi just started watching your videos and really enjoy them. Whats the name of your watercolour set?
@@colettewalsh8827 Hi, there! I’m so glad you’re enjoying my videos. 🥰 Great question! It’s actually a custom palette-I bought the empty metal case from Amazon and filled them with my own colors from a tube. My favorite brands are Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolors, Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolors, and M. Graham & Co. Watercolors. Hope this helps! I also have a resource on my website (corriefrankcreates.com) for newsletter subscribers to help folks get started with purchasing their own watercolor supplies, if you’re interested. 🤗
Very beautiful work!
@@Fuluca Thank you! I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment. ☺️
Beautiful bee!
Thank you so much! 🥰
Who’s in the dark doorway???
Lol, I'm not sure . . . probably the doggo I was looking after.
I really enjoyed finding this video. I also get afflicted with migraines and so I could really sympathize! You did great though! And yes, it is difficult to get your body to cooperate when having one, with coordination and scattered thinking! Thank you for persevering!
Thank you-I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Ooph, I'm sorry you get migraines as well . . . they're terrible! I appreciate your kind and encouraging words. 🥰
I am very encouraged by your video! Thank you. I've got my wooden spoon mic sorted too yay!! (love that), and have more or less got a rough idea of what I'm gonna say. I found a batch of small index cards that I will use for my bullet points. 😊👍
@@wendydashwood7879 That’s wonderful! I’m so glad this video encouraged you. Sounds like you’ve got a great plan for your process. I bet it’ll be fantastic! 👏🥳
Thank you! Very helpful!
My pleasure! Glad you found it helpful. 🤗
Thank you so much for this video. I am just switching to Affinity, and as a visual artist, it’s been really hard to find tutorials for revising images from physical artwork that has been photographed or scanned. I hope you do more, because I’ve learned a lot here. I took notes! In the past, I have used Corel, but I really hope I can figure out how to revise in Photo and then link to Publisher. Thanks again!
Yay, I'm so glad you found this helpful! I'm super thankful that Affinity has created such a great product as an alternative to Adobe. I typically focus on creating painting/art tutorials on my channel rather than these types of videos, but if you have any specific requests regarding Affinity software, please don't hesitate to leave a comment here and I'll do my best to help you find the answer. 😊
Why did your brush look like a pen? What kind is it?
@@karpagamrajagopal3832 It’s a round brush, which comes to a really nice point, so it probably looked like a pen sometimes, lol. The one in this video is a size 12 Silver Ltd Brush Company Black Velvet round brush. Hope this helps! ☺️
I know your skill makes it work even better. Thanks for the info
@@karpagamrajagopal3832 Aw, thank you! Practice definitely helps. Happy to share the tools of the trade. 🤗
So beautiful! Love the fall foliage!❤

So cool!
Thank you so much! 🥰
Ten minute water color painting - I’m in! ❤
Woohoo! Would love to hear how it goes if you give it a try! 🤗
Love the swan! Great background in the second one. Maybe add Koi or flowers?❤
Thank you! Ooh, great idea! 🤗
Fantastic!
Thank you! 🤗
Soooo cool!
Isn’t it?! Watercolors are the best!
Thank you for the video, was interesting. A bit hard to listen an explanation in headphones as the sound was in left and most of the music in right ear, unlike the presentation and final speach.
@@poriotb8017 Thank you! Huh, how weird-I didn’t realize the audio split between left and right channels during the primary part of the video! I’ll see if I can figure out how to fix that in the editing process. Appreciate you letting me know!
so lovely. do more for us
@@treborekcohcs40 Thank you so much! Will do-I post videos every Tuesday and Saturday. 🤗
Love the beautiful night sky with silhouettes of the hill and pine trees! Incredible❤
Thank you so much! ☺️
Very pretty 😊😊
Thank you! 🥰
Why the spots at the end?
It's just a stylistic choice-I think it adds some fun whimsy and rounds out the piece, but I realize it's not to everyone's taste. Thanks so much for watching the video and leaving a comment! ☺
Beautifully done. Congratulations! This is going to be my next project. I love horses .❤❤❤❤ Definitively, for me, bird eye view !
Thank you so much! Yes, horses are so beautiful and majestic! Happy painting! 🤗🎨🖌️
Thank you for keeping this simple as just learning & found a video where person did whole painting with a card & was lost in 5 seconds!
So glad this video was helpful! I try to keep these art tips/tricks videos shorter so they’re more digestible, but I definitely have longer, complex videos, too, especially with my online courses. Happy watercolor painting, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions! 😊
Love it and the music that goes with it! Simple and beautiful! 😍
Thank you so much! 🥰
I like the variety of blues and greens you chose. It makes this Orca whale look so natural and realistic. Beautiful!
@@maureencepiel959 Thank you, friend! I always enjoy adding unexpected colors to paintings, especially black tones-makes it more dynamic. 😊
Thank you Corrie. I believe I've just learned how to do an abstract painting that actually resembles a recognizable subject.
My pleasure! That's awesome . . . happy painting!
This is beautifully demonstrated, thank you so much. Please would you also explain or show how you use your water pot? You seem to dip and dab quite frequently but that is not shown on screen. As I've been learning watercolour for quite some time I have realised that the amount of water on the brush is as crucial as the amount of paint. Your control of water and paint is excellent.
Thank you so much for leaving a comment! Figuring out the ideal setup can be a challenge. I kept the water jar off screen to give me a little more workspace, but I’ll try to include it in the future. You’re spot on that I rinse my brushes a lot-watercolor is so much about finding that balance of pigment and water in the brush, and I don’t always get it right the first time, lol. It can be helpful to use a little scratch piece of watercolor paper to test out how much water is in your brush before applying it to your actual piece until you feel more comfortable with achieving that balance more consistently. I hope this is helpful! 🤗
@corriefrankcreates Thank you for responding, it is helpful.
It's incredible how a few colors can make such beautiful floral art!
Agreed! Watercolors are so cool. ❤🎨🖌️
You are such a strong painter.
Aw, thank you so much! 🥰
Your brush strokes are always so elegant.
Aww, thank you!! 🥰🤗
Thank you for sharing this video! I’m brand new to watercolor - - to painting in general - - and I was wondering when you blend the edges around the highlight are you using a dry brush? A wet brush with little to no pigment? Tonight I tried a different tutorial with a single cherry and my first attempt was actually better than my second. It’s really disheartening when you don’t see a linear improvement. 😏
My pleasure-thank you for leaving a comment! Aw, I’m so glad you’re trying out watercolors. They’re a lot of fun, but can come with quite a learning curve, so be patient and kind with yourself. Even if that second cherry painting didn’t turn out as well as you would have liked, you’re learning and growing, and that’s something to be proud of! To answer your question, yes, I would recommend more of a “dry brush”-just damp with water, the excess moisture blotted off on a cloth-when blending edges or lifting paint. I hope this helps! I wish you all the best on your watercolor journey. 🤗
@@corriefrankcreates What a thoughtful reply. 🤗 Thank you for the information and encouragement!
@@maremacdAnytime! 😊
Would like see an image that needs more work done.
Ooh, okay! As in an image that needs more intensive color correcting?
Yes, I love your tutorial but unfortunately I do not have such a great scanner
@@kristincastillo8848Gotcha! I’ll see what I can do. 😊
@kristincastillo8848 Hey there! I did wind up making another video that involves more color correcting/photo editing using Affinity Photo 2. It's a fairly long tutorial, but here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/77V3kriN9Go/v-deo.html. I hope you find it helpful!
Beautiful ❤❤❤❤ great job
Thank you so much! 🤗
did you do this if you did it's so cool :)

What a lovely yellow rose!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for an excellent video. I am a beginner and is very motivating knowing I can complete a painting in 10 minutes.
It’s my pleasure! I’m so glad you found it helpful and motivating. Happy painting! 🥰🎨🖌️
Lovely! Is that cold pressed or rough paper? Looks very textured.
Thank you so much! It’s Arches cold press 140 lb. watercolor paper, cut from a large 22” x 30” sheet. It does have quite a bit of texture. My favorite is the 300 lb. cold press paper, but it comes with a high price tag, lol.
Beautiful
