How Hmong Shamans Support Women Through Pregnancy
During pregnancy, Hmong women may seek the assistance of shamans to ensure a safe and healthy pregnancy for both mother and child. Shamans are revered for their knowledge of herbal remedies and traditional medicines, which they may prescribe to alleviate physical discomforts or promote overall well-being during pregnancy. Additionally, shamans often perform intricate ceremonies and rituals that aid in the babies overall health and positioning within the womb.

Shamanism is not a religion like Christianity. Shamanism is a Hmong culture. Don’t divide and be mistaken by the the two. If you you even think Shamanism is a religion then you my friend have lost your Hmong culture. At that point, don’t call yourself Hmong anymore. To be honest, Shamanism doesn’t even resemble Hmong culture. It’s much more complex than that.

Very good video! I love it. All of us who are still practicing the old tradition need to band together and strategize a way to reduce these ridiculous costs. I love the many ideas here. Shorten the length of the funeral will reduce a lot of things that equates to money. Yes no more catering to so called VIP guests. I agree with just 1 full day and 1 evening is good enough.

John 8:31-55 The Truth Will Set You Free 31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” 33 They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?” 34 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave[a] to sin. 35 The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. 37 I know that you are offspring of Abraham; yet you seek to kill me because my word finds no place in you. 38 I speak of what I have seen with my Father, and you do what you have heard from your father.”

Hmong commonly known as Miao are an indigenous ethnic group in Asia actually…and because they didn’t assimilate to Chinese culture- they stuck with being Christian’s and then got booted out of Asia. The end.

The Hmong in the States thinks of themselves too highly that they are pressured to make a funeral for a king and queen (ironically, the similar thing is happen to Hmong Laos and Vietnam in weddings today). Sometimes it's the fault of the parent or relatives, who demands certain requirement. When the Hmong were still in Laos and Vietnam, the average person had less than the value of $50 USD and everyone can make a funeral happen. I can understand $10K-$15K in the States, but you shouldn't need to spend over $20K (even with inflation) as a baseline requirement. The rich ones will say, we need to do it, but never think about the poor families who can't afford to spend more than even $5K without going into debt. Your loved one just died, why give yourself more burden with debt. We all know, it's about saving face. But the truth is, at the end of the day, nobody cares because most of them, 90% won't call you, won't ask about you, won't help you pay your debt. But hey, at least they'll be there again at your funeral, right?

You're so right on the point. That's why Neng Chue Xiong yelled out, "Malaqapi" to the other guy, who demanded a bigger cow for the deceased person. Also, there is not need to invite the "leaders" or VIP to a funeral. They offer nothing to the family of the deceased person. Thanks to COVID-19, the change was dramatic.

My life was chaotic, I am from a culture where family comes first, but my family doesn't even know how to love one another and there's a lot of resentment. Islam taught me patience and self love. Even how to take care of myself (hygiene etc). It makes my life meaningful. Alhamdulillah Islam saved me.

A 3 year old Hmong child is missing in Wisconsin, his name is Elijah Vue. He has been missing since 2/20/2024. His mother and the mother's boyfriend are in jail for child neglect so they are locked up and not able to ask for help to find the little boy. The biological father, Billy Vue is in prison for something unrelated. This 3 year old child needs to be found. The FBI is offering $15,000.00 reward. This 3 year old Hmong needs a Hmong Shaman to locate his soul parts. The grandparents recently participated in Two Rivers WI police press conference asking the public to help locate this little Hmong 3 year old, so that is an invitation but someone who can qualify as next of kin for this child... Hope you can locate this boy.

These “professionals” talk about the “social pressures” but it’s the politics… The politics of it really sucks with clan leaders and co-leaders…Is it bad kharma for paternal side relatives to allow the hosting family to work the basic jobs (cooking/cutting meat/ restocking food) due to lack of support/sincerity? I’m from maternal side and tried my best to help and tell the hosting family to grieve well during the funeral. It sucks that politics kicked in during a funeral; n I hope the paternal family improves their sincerity.

Respect to you. For those who keep on saying God is the only way or Jesus with the Holy Spirit can only heal you. Think about it? Shaman calls on SPIRITS guide to help and heal. Jesus with the Holy SPIRITS will heal the sick. So what y’all bitching about this and this is better. He already stated that they went to church and it didn’t help. So his parents turn to shaman for help and yes there will always be regrets but he was brought to this world to help heal people. I have cousins that shaman couldn’t help and heal them. They turn to Jesus for help and that turn out to be what they needed. So it go’s both ways. So STOP preaching one is the only way. Be who you are Billy.
