Dr Christie suggests shame shows up as a vagal response and practitioners can work with it skillfully. I’d love to hear some examples of working with this specifically for healing effect. I also agree with Gabor Mate that it is physical in nature.

Guys, we really appreciate the effort, but you may really need to shorten these. That is why you are not getting engagement. It is very drawn out and laborious. Just a suggestion, I know the company is spending a lot of money and leadership capital on this and the lack of views has to be disappointing.

First, Steve, this made my whole day hearing your voice. My brother is friends with Dr Robison's brother. I got sent the link, opened it up. Laying on my back doing my old man stretches on the floor. Listening only, i almost instantaneously knew you were the other Podcaster. I haven't seen you since 2006. Your work and content did not surprise me in the least. I've always thought extremely high of you. Your ability to connect with others, bridging and making meaningful heartfelt connections across all and any cohort. I always saw a genuine, kind, intellectual, spiritual, and super athletic over 30 looking high schooler. Kind and sincere with everyone you came in contact with. All this and only a high schooler. To have expected less than greatness from you, would be a fools bet. I appreciated the outlier example of the FDA acting on behalf of the people profess to protect. My uncle was the expert cardiologist used to testify in the class action lawsuit against fen phen. The drug was withdrawn and $13 billion in damages awarded. They might as well flip a coin each time an application is submitted. Happy to have discovered the podcast. Already subscribed. Greetings from Costa Rica

Ryan! I'm so deeply moved by this. You're gonna make me cry big manly tears. I'm humbled by and thankful your kind words. The "over 30 looking high schooler" piece was particularly accurate. When I showed my yearbook picture to my teenage son he was like, "bro why do you look like a grown-ass man?" It's wild to think how much has changed since we were fumbling our way through high school. It's hard to really appreciate the impact we have on each other, especially in those formative years. Every memory I have of you is a good one. You were the kind of guy I felt like I could be myself around. Accepting, authentic, playful, funny, and the perfect amount teenage rebellion. Hope life is treating you well down there in Costa Rica!

The most valuable lesson I learned from Existential Kink is that fear equals desire, and already having something in your life also equates to desiring it. At first, you might resist this truth-after all, who would consciously desire rejection, for example? Yet, in my case, being rejected provided me with a sense of comfort and safety, and I unconsciously manifested it because I loved that feeling of security. Our ego often mistranslates our shadow desires into fear. So now, when I start to fear something, I remind myself, "Oh, I secretly want this..." Then, I allow myself to fully experience whatever it is, without feeling the need to resist or prove it wrong. I come from Neville Goddard's camp, where imagination is reality, where imagination is God. I found this to be true, but God loves to create, and as beings, we are naturally curious. Our imagination is like a curious little child, not judging good or evil. This understanding was the missing link in many of my manifestations because, as Neville said, "There is no one to change but self." However, it wasn’t until I encountered Existential Kink that I fully grasped this concept. Now, I finally understand it. It’s the most liberating and enjoyable practice-finding pleasure in all areas of life, even in sadness and struggle. It’s like a great work of art, like theater, where all the actors are set to play their roles and give you a complete human experience. Neville’s “Isn’t it wonderful?” method works beautifully with Existential Kink. For example, “Isn’t it wonderful to be able to feel such beautiful sadness with all its layers and colors?” This is what we signed up for-to be human, to have human experiences, with all the love, hate, and the wonderful drama with its twists and turns. Hollywood has nothing on our imagination. So for all the people who have hurt you, know that it’s God-your imagination-that is doing it. You are creating these experiences to fulfill your secret cravings for human pain and suffering. Embrace it, cherish it, and in your imagination, secretly thank the "actors" for playing their roles so wonderfully. To forgive and heal, I suggest using Ho'oponopono on the "actors." I often imagine a scene at the end of a play where we are all on stage together, holding hands, bowing to ourselves for playing our roles and delivering such an amazing performance. Flowers are being thrown at us, and we feel glad and thankful. There is no more pain and suffering-how could there be? You masterfully created these experiences to feel those emotions; otherwise, how could you experience despair and rejection if you don't live it? It’s a brilliant work of art. You are the author, producer, director, and actor.

I didn’t really finish the episode yet, maybe because I’m distracted by what’s going wrong. Hope both of you are ok and not facing any trouble. However I was thinking to put this suggestion here. I really don’t think bringing your patients as an example in the show is a great idea. I’m saying this because I can sense how intelligent both of you are to overcome such way in order for your audience to understand or absorb your ideas. Even if you got their consent at the end their consent don’t really count 100% in such case and there is a whole conversation can be done to explain way. Finally, thank you both so much for being the therapists I’ve been always looking for. You will never have an idea how you made me understand all what I encountered and what was going on with me. May all of the team of this show live in peace ever after.

At 26:02 you disapproved of methamphetamine being in Adderall in Mexico. I would agree that the quality control in Mexico may suck but Dr. Carl Hart of Colombia University says that after thousands of experiments his study participants couldn't tell the difference. So he concluded that they were essentially the same drug except meth lasts a bit longer. I've always been taught more bang for your buck is a good thing. But yes Mexico should do better quality control and sell what they advertise.

A bundle of good advice and helpful thoughts, thank you! Just one thing got me thinking, which is if it really is a good thing to “shelve” challenging trips. In my experience psychedelic trips don’t age well. And they not only give you what you need, they are also tailored to fit your psychological/mental abilities at the time for processing them - but this is more of an intuition than a scientific fact. The trouble with not processing them while fresh on your mind is that we tend to lose the feeling of urgency and - especially for very challenging or even painful trips - avoid going there again emotionally or mentally at later times. They do infiltrate into your unconscious mind or into your dreams, though, and do what they do without you actively processing them. Or they start to “rot” and infect other parts of your psyche. And one more thought on this from a spiritual perspective: Maybe the “lesson” of a challenging trip is not a wisdom, but an improved skill, even though you went into it with the intention of getting answers. So there may just be nothing to integrate (just to acknowledge). We are all here for a reason, it's not so much about us. Let's just let the universe play itself out through us. 🙂

Question. Does taking shrooms always make you nauseous? Would it be ok to take nausea medicine-phinigren (however you spell) or would that negatively counteract with it? Also I have heard you can take Xanax to cancel trip if it goes horribly wrong, approximately how many mgs would be needed to do so?

  • @homoerotic85

Question. They were talking about a girl who lost her job and drove all night to the place she was taking the psychedelic and how that wasn't a good time to trip. I understand that could make her have a bad trip/not enjoyable. But I hear people say that a bad trip is actually a good trip as far as being life changing in a good way. So is that true? Would there be other negative effects it could bring to you other than just having a bad trip?
