Pitching Speeds 40 - 100 mph
#baseball #pitching
Disclaimer some pitches move unrealistically. This is only to demonstrate the time the ball takes to reach Homeplate.

Wow 50 is pretty fast
one trick to hitting balls in the upper speed range is that you have to start your weight shift before the ball is released from their hand.
like a 1/3 of a second to adjust to 100 mph fast ball, it's mostly a guessing game, will it be any of the various pitches thrown and decide which one in a fraction of a second,
Mlb players have under a second to decide what to do not to mention do it
미국은 왜 혼자 븅신같은 마일을 쓰는가
120 mph- broke the software😮
I think maybe I could have hit the 40 and 50!
no one talking about cricket
This explains why like a third of all current MLB at-bats end in strikeouts these days. Many more pitchers now can throw 90, 95, 100 mph. Some are now hitting 102 to 105 mph.
This is what throwing balls in space looks like.
I can throw 100. ... out of a car going 90
Needed first person view too.
show us from the batters perspective please
I remember getting in one of those batting cages at an Espn Zone and you could select from different mlb pitchers. I chose Verlander & i think it was set to 90mph or close. The loud pop of the ball hitting the wall mat behind me followed by the swish of my bat followed by laughter from my friends.
i never played baseball before but i interested of pitching. last week i tried to pitch at batting cage and can only throw 52mph lol
All those pitches were high. The batter was wise to take. Make him throw a strike.
i would say this is actually under representing it. as someone who is involved in training both pitchers and catchers, the velocity simulation you have from 70-100 is significantly slower than real life perception. Your 100 is more like a real 85mph. Go stand behind a catcher with a pitcher throwing upper 80's and then watch this again.
respect to baseballers, requires fast processing speed in such a small window.
40 mph= bautista with a drive
If you could change from 40 to 100 and keep it straight, you would be the goat.
I could blast the 100 mph with my hands tied behind my back
No you couldn’t this video doesn’t do a justice
Stop lying to yourself 💀
im 5 and i pitch 5
Respect to the pros
Unless you’ve stood in the batters box and faced live pitching, you can’t appreciate how difficult it is to make solid contact. Throw in a curveball or a change up, then a fastball looks even faster.
That’s why hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in sports. It’s the only sport where a 30% success rate could put you in the HOF.
I got too nervous watching game 5 of Yankees Dodgers in the 9th inning so here I am.
nah, i can it that 100. looks more like 75. btw, props to the fake dude taking it in the elbow every other pitch
WHO here is a pitcher ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️
What game?
The brain uses predictive processing to anticipate the final position of the ball.
I stopped tracking the ball well as a hitter at like 58 mph lol. I can't imagine standing in there. It's like a video game. Hitting the button before the pitch even comes
Cheer~~~throw (the ball) for the batter to try to hit.😊
wow. that says it.
To pay someone hundreds of Millions of Dollars to hit that Ball with a Stick is beyond Vulgar and Stupid!!!!
I think 100 was the fastest
Now do 110
I can only imagine what an animation would look like explaining the run speed going first to third, critical of competent base running on any level. ..and how about rounding third heading home.
why is this always on my FYP
Recommendation?
Why the batter moving like a mortal Kombat character😂
This is really good for helping people understand at a basic level. Even if it doesn't actually represent the true speed of a pitch because the horizontal velocity by a slower pitch will be greater then that of a faster pitch. This leads to a 40mph pitch being even slower relative to a 100mph than indicated here. But could you possibly alter the animation to include the most efficient arch for each ball speed?
Hitting a baseball: The only thing in life where you can fail 7 times out of 10, and people will say you're very good at it.
People who have topped out at 120 👇
Soccer is harder. (I have an extra chromosome)
In little league, the 70mph batting cages were scary. Couldn’t imagine 100mph.
The Yankees need to sign him.
As a hitter who had the “lucky” chance to face 101mph in a game, in my experience, 100 and 92 look almost identical to the eyes, however, when swinging at 100, I felt like my hands were so slow, like suddenly my bat speed disappeared
similar as in its just a white blur? because surely the 100 mph would come at you a lot faster
@@blueguppy9321 They meant look identical coming out of the pitcher's hand.
All looked the smae
Meh, hitting a baseball isn't hard
90mph is 132 ft/sec. The rubber is 60.5' away. That means from the rubber to the plate takes only 0.4583 seconds. At 95mph, that is 139.333 ft/sec and only 0.4342 sec. 100mph, 146.6667 ft/sec, 0.4132 sec.
And don’t forget that average pitcher’s release point is around 54 feet from the plate, so feel free to recalculate.
as a baseball player this looks so much slower than it does when ur in the box
This is likely faster than in the box since the ball is sustaining speed instead of losing it and has no arc. The reason why it feels slow is because there is no vertical movement to account for. If you throw two objects with the same horizontal velocity but one flat and one in an arc, the one with the arc has a greater total velocity due to vertical movement.
