    I feel like I could hit a 70-80mph fastball

70 probably but definitely not 80 if you don’t know exactly where the fastball is gonna be at since it don’t go right down the middle if your facing an actual mlb pitcher

Bro says not as impressive as if major league batters don’t have 1/4th a second to register and swing at the pitch.

If that was really 100 mph, I would be in the majors as a 12 yrs old, my 65 mph fastball looks 10x faster than that😂

It got there in a fraction of a second. If your gonna pretend like your good atleast make it believable. At 12 your prolly throwing 50 mph thinking your Roger Clemons or smt 😂

@@Akainu-es6ct 12 yr olds throwing 50😂 ur funny, that’s probably what you threw when you were 12, I have arm strength camps to help me throw faster and I work out, go to my baseball facility every day so maybe try and be nice? Ever tried that?

@@CityOfSeagy “if that was really 100mph, I would be in the majors as a 12 yrs old” quote of what you said. If you played baseball you would know how fast 100mph would be and the video is a perfect description of 100mph down to the millisecond. After that sentence everything else that comes out of your mouth should be labeled as b.s

When I pitched in little league I threw at 60mph but since you are 15 feet closer the ball looks like its going 80mph so even though I was not throwing very fast it looked fast especially to 11 year old kids.

Baseball Batter: The reaction time for a baseball batter is typically around 0.40 seconds to react to a pitch and make contact with the ball. This time can vary depending on the speed of the pitch, the distance from the pitcher to the plate, and the individual batter’s skills. For example, a 100 mph fastball would give the batter approximately 0.380 seconds to react. Boxer: In boxing, reaction times are crucial for responding to an opponent’s punches. While there isn’t a direct equivalent to a baseball pitch, a boxer’s reaction time to a punch can be as short as 0.1-0.2 seconds. However, this time can vary greatly depending on the individual boxer’s skills, the type of punch, and the distance between the opponents. BOXER HAVE WAY LESS TIME

one trick to hitting balls in the upper speed range is that you have to start your weight shift before the ball is released from their hand.

like a 1/3 of a second to adjust to 100 mph fast ball, it's mostly a guessing game, will it be any of the various pitches thrown and decide which one in a fraction of a second,

This explains why like a third of all current MLB at-bats end in strikeouts these days. Many more pitchers now can throw 90, 95, 100 mph. Some are now hitting 102 to 105 mph.

I remember getting in one of those batting cages at an Espn Zone and you could select from different mlb pitchers. I chose Verlander & i think it was set to 90mph or close. The loud pop of the ball hitting the wall mat behind me followed by the swish of my bat followed by laughter from my friends.

  • @dfboiler

i would say this is actually under representing it. as someone who is involved in training both pitchers and catchers, the velocity simulation you have from 70-100 is significantly slower than real life perception. Your 100 is more like a real 85mph. Go stand behind a catcher with a pitcher throwing upper 80's and then watch this again.

Unless you’ve stood in the batters box and faced live pitching, you can’t appreciate how difficult it is to make solid contact. Throw in a curveball or a change up, then a fastball looks even faster.
