Wow... the comments on here are so waaay off. The middle finger gesture was just starting to become a symbol of rebellion in the U.S. during that time period. Soooo.... no Mister Rogers wasn't "flipping off" the kids or the cameras. Excellent find! I have seen the middle finger gif quite a bit throughout the past and I always assumed it was edited in some way! I had no idea that he was actually really lifting his middle fingers - honestly, I couldn’t believe he would be caught on camera flipping the bird! I should have guessed that it was a totally innocent act!
