This is a bit more complicated, I'm working on a Udemy course right now which is covering everything about custom battle systems and also a charging system, but it takes some time which I lack at the moment. Sorry that I can't help you at the spot. Maybe there are plugins that can help you with this.

I'm having a bit of difficulty refining this into a common event. i have it working, but i want the gold to go down as soon as something is purchased, in conjunction with a ka-ching sort of coin sound ( i have the sound working fine ) but currently it doesn't go down until the event ends, it stays the full amount during text dialogue before the event auto ends from buying the item and i'm not really sure how to fix it. I've tried a couple things but nothing seems to make it update until after the event is over. any ideas?

Thank you, there is a tutorial about that on my channel it's called " 1/5 | Action-Battle-System with Shooting and Enemy Special Attacks | RPG-Maker MV ". I created it for RPG-Maker MV, but it should be almost the same for MZ. It's pretty basic from the concept, whenever the player hits the action button it spawns the water ball on the player x and y coordinate and afterwards moves it forward until it hits something.

is there an mv version of this for TextPicture? Or could you take it from mz and throw it in mv? If so what would you write for the plugin command in mv?
is it posible to change the character animation?
That would be a bit more complicated, the only way I have in my mind right now, is to set a switch or variable and set it to a certain value, if two directions are pressed and change the player image according to the direction. So for example, if left and up are pressed change the variable to 1 for example, and if nothing is pressed change it back to 0. Than check in another Event with a parallel process if the variable is 1 and set the walking animation by yourself, like start with left foot front, wait 16 frames and change it to the nomal standing pose and after another 16 frames change it back to right foot front and if the value is 0 change it back to the not diagonal movement pose and do the same for the other directions. As I said it will be quite complicated and im not sure if it works well.

Cool, but is it possible to change the speed of diagonal movement? Because when moving diagonally, the character now covers a greater distance in the same time than when moving normally (for the diagonal of the square is larger than its side). Thanks!
Yeah that's a tough one I guess. I haven't tried it out but what you can try is to use a script command to increase and decrease it. So you can do something like this $gameMap.event(123).setMoveSpeed(3.5) and set the move speed to a lower value if one button is pressed and to a higher move speed if 2 buttons are pressed.

Hi there, thank you for your kind words. An active time battle is quite complicated without scripts, since you have to handle the UI with pictures or events. I already planned something like this, but I don't have that much time at the moment. But it's definitely something that I have in mind for the future.

This is Amazing, I am wondering if you may know a way to add an enemy HP bar?
Hi, I know this is a couple years old, but if anyone comes across this, you should know this: This video forgets to add an Else branch at the end of it (where it tells the event to not jump past a certain point) where it accounts for the negative aspect. I'm not sure if this causes an issue in MV, but it *does* cause an issue in MZ, where it will work properly and not allow the player to jump a certain amount of tiles to the right, but *not to the left.* It will ignore this restriction unless you place an else branch conditional that tells it to stop if the variable JumpDistance < -[your number restriction]. Otherwise, this works perfectly! It also avoids a potential issue of "Will it jump space by space if two regions are right next to each other?", because from testing, I've found that it will not make you jump a single tile over... For some reason I can't actually explain. I hope this helps you with future projects as this video helped me with mine!
Also, additionally, I'm currently having an issue where sometimes, the character will make an impossible to make jump and land directly in the water and get stuck. Hoping I can find a fix for that to avoid some potential issues in gameplay later!
Hey, thank you for your advice. I can't test most of the mechanics here to a full extend, the tutorials should be used more as an inspiration and should show you how things work in general. Most stuff I show here is far from a release state, but it should give people a general understanding of how to create certain things. Maybe I will redo that tutorial for MZ and will fix those bugs, but I don't have that much time at the moment so I can't tell you exactly when it will come out.

Thank you for the reply, I wasn't expecting on on a video this old. I just thought I would do what you did and help others with their projects should they come around and need it <3
