Like for instance the drop dead diva role wasnt even supposed to go to Maddie it was supposed to be Chloe or Brooke because they wanted a 13 year old blonde and Maddie did not fit that description yet Abby and the producers told ddd that Maddie was the only kid available to do it. Also with working with Sia, Sia herself has spoken out about how she asked Abby and the production if all the kids could be apart of her first video chandelier yet Maddie was the only one who was able to actually participate there were lots of things she did work for like the rest of her music career with Sia she worked her butt to keep her position and half the time on the show with dancing she worked and earned her first place trophies and of course because of the show it helped catapult her into bigger stardom with more acting roles. If you’re an actually dance moms fan and you actually research instead of going based off a edited reality show you’d know these things. Judges and other competition staff have spoken out about how Abby tried her hardest to talk up Maddie to the judges in order to secure her win like for instance About Mother vs They’ll never change Chloe was supposed to win yet Maddie won “for the show”.

What was gross about it? The video was full of symbolism, that was the whole point. Sia and her father were stuck in a “cage” when it came to alcohol. She was able to escape and get out but he wasn’t. There’s trauma there. The video represented this and how it feels to be inside of it vs outside. It was very well done.

Gross ? There are so many things that were great about that video it’s a work of art I became a fan of Asia because of that video. I saw nothing but art

She wasn’t wrong. You can’t shelter someone from the truth of the matter. When that video released there were a LOT of positive and negative responses. Hiding that from Maddie wasn’t going to help her in any way.

But it’s all the moms this time, and controversy was real.

There’s a big difference though Maddie was having a really big peak in her career the comments were spiraling and becoming overbearing of course if you can protect your kid from unnecessary hate why wouldn’t they but for Maddie it was coming to a point where if she didn’t hear from her mother she was going to hear from somebody else eventually and that’s exactly what Jill was trying to show

I know but I think Melissa wanted Maddie to be proud of her career and this could actually be really good for Maddie bc her confidence level would rise and is definitely helpful for blocking out haters. Just like in her after interview where Maddie was still happy and proud of her music video even with the haters. But ofc I get Jill’s point.
