Absolutely beautiful!! I want to do this for some reason I think it would look beautiful seeing those alliums popping out of grass
Thanks very much. Good luck with growing your own.
Beautiful! Well done! Such hard work!
Thanks very much!
add plants ie. Epipremnum aureum on the rocks to absorb all the nitrate in the water, without nitrate the green algae can't grow.
Thanks for the tip
looks great, you could probably add some bottom feeders like shrimp 🦐 - they're very aggressive eaters that will eat anything leftover from your filter (even bird waste) that water will be crystal clear, and your water feature spotless in no-time 👍
You’re welcome. Thanks for the tip!
Shrimp will die over the winter, better to add some scuds and seed shrimp.
@@tiffanyo3365 that's a non-issue, shrimp are extremely cheap- they'll get too big if they survive the winter
@@johnsmith91528 They'll get to big? Why constantly replace shrimp when you can just have scuds...seems illogical...
@@tiffanyo3365 yeah cool man, scuds are great too- it's just an outdoor bog filter, not a big deal they're all so cheap main goal of the filter is the water quality👍
The problem is you only had a pump and not a filter. Once the algae has completely colonized the rock, it will continue to colonize on the rest of your water feature. The only way to stop it is to have a UV light or a bunch of plants to consume the excess nutrients in the water. PS: The beneficial bacteria will only increase the algae level in your pond. As the waste turns to ammonia, the ammonia turns to nitrites, and nitrites turn to nitrates, which eventually are consumed by the algae and causes the algae to bloom further.
I’m sorry to disagree with you but this filter does work and it doesn’t need much maintenance either. I have experience of using gravel filters in aquariums too so i know they work. There are many sources on the internet that explain how beneficial bacteria will keep algae at bay by removing the nutrients they feed on. Beneficial bacteria breaks down sludge, uneaten fish food, fish waste, dead and decaying plant material and excess nutrients which are all food for algae. By reducing the amount of those excess nutrients, you are effectively starving the algae. I agree that pond plants are also another good way of helping to control nutrients in the pond, and reduce algae growth but some pond plants such as water lilies won’t grow well in turbulent water from water fountains.
Beautiful, I'm sure garden birds will really appreciate it.
Thanks very much
I am planting today, so this video was inspiring and helpful for me in gauging size and spacing. thanks friend!
You’re welcome. Good luck with your alliums.
How many days does it give hot water
How do the bees get in to pollinate?
They can crawl through the cage netting holes, but also i didn’t place the cage over my strawberry plant until the first strawberries had appeared which by then most of the strawberry flowers (90%) had already been pollinated. These strawberry cages gave me a good yield of just over 2 pounds of strawberries this year compared to only about a handful of strawberries last year!
I had this problem on one of my rose bushes, and it was also covered in black ants who were feeding on the aphids, it was awful. I sprayed with soapy water and squished with thumb and finger as I was spraying (lovely job 😂🫣) but all is well now.
Glad to hear you fixed the problem!
I am about to put my tender fuchsias into dormancy.

What a stunning timelapse video! Just stunning
Thanks very much. Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing this. I dug up some of my friends clematis. I’ve never had any history with clematis so I wasn’t sure what would happen. This past spring I put the roots in a pot with some soil and it started growing and had one beautiful bloom on it. This past summer was very hot and although the vine was growing there weren’t any blooms. Well the weather has cooled down and I now have at least five blooms on it. I am going to also transfer it to a bigger pot. Thanks again
You’re welcome. Good luck with your clematis!
Если бы можно было поставить 100 лайков, я бы поставила за такую грандиозную работу!
Thanks very much!
What the heck is “grit”
It’s another word for small pebbles or stones lol

Oh, that is really beautiful. I just discovered your channel. As a healthcare worker doing night shifts I found these images like a balm for my soul. I really like gardening but I'm far away from my home 3500 km precisely. Thank you sir for giving me and others a bit of colour and positivity. Really appreciated and subscribed for more soothing images. All the best.
You’re very welcome. Thanks for your lovely comments and thanks for subscribing!
Wow what did you do for care this past year because this Piilu grew very fast.
Thanks. Watch this video to find out: How To Grow Clematis In Pots ua-cam.com/video/M5eDzUcT6nM/v-deo.html
you have a fantastic sense of humor 😭❤️
I was watching your video and I have a question. Do you have to take your Pot inside a garage and the winter time for your clematis?
No I don’t. I leave my potted clematis outside all winter.
Amazing effort and video just a small correction though. This is not purple sensation this is allium christophii
Thanks, and I think you are right. It seems the bulb supplier 'Farmer Gracy' delivered the wrong bulbs. They still look great though but I wonder if the real deal 'purple sensation' alliums would look even better!
@@tomsgarden They wouldn't be, at least I really prefer the Christophii🤗❤️ Btw I also had the same problem with farmer gracy, they delivered me only white liatris spicata (amazing plant!!) and instead of Allium ping pong they send me something else which makes green sprouts instead of flowerhead..... They have an amazing site and service but mistakes like these really turn me off
can I text you for some info?
You can ask me anything here if you like
Its beautiful
Thank you

How to take clematis cuttings
Poor soul is hungry. It must be awful having food right there that you cant reach.
Don’t worry about that. He’s eaten every single strawberry from my other dozen or so unprotected strawberry plants at the far end of my garden so far. If these pot plants were not protected i would have none left to eat myself!
❤
I put one in a pot, it didnt come back the following year waste of money
Sorry to hear that. It may have been a sick plant before you planted it.
Nice idea
Thanks
Soooo pretty!!
You’re welcome
Does it work with battery storage?
Yes, you could power it from a usb or similar low voltage power pack.
Exactly what i was looking for! Ive had a clematis in large pot for year. Fabulous up to last year then seems to be struggling now. So maybe not best time but i will be transplanting it soon into bigger pot. Thank you.
You’re welcome. Make sure they well watered too.
Beautiful!!! I missed out plating them this year, on my to plant list for next year. Greetings from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺🥰👍😃
Glad you like it. Good luck with your alliums in Australia. 😊
Explanation is the best! Could I have some seeds ple my dear?.
Thank you. Yes sure
I use my own compost that i make myself and comfrey liquid fertiliser wrks like magic they love liquid feeds
Thanks for your feedback
Thank you, so informative. I have Sally and Inez in pots. They are doing nicely.
You’re welcome. Good luck with your clematis.
My Allium didn't flower this year 😔 can anyone explain why ? They are watered well and get plenty of sun not sure what else it could be any advice please ? Loved this time lapse video excellent 😊👍🏻
Thanks very much for liking my video. 😊 In response to your question, I’m not sure of the exact reason for your Allium not flowering but this year my Alliums that you saw in my time lapse video did not flower well at all. Only 30 flowered out of 100 that flowered last year and i was even expecting at least 300 to flower this year because alliums multiple each year. I believe the reason for this epic fail this year was because here in the UK we had an exceptionally wet winter and my alliums were planted in heavy clay soil which can get waterlogged if there is too much rain. This waterlogged soil can cause the alliums roots to rot and hence not flower and to try and prevent this adding medium to the soil to help it drain better, like sand, loam or gravel could be a solution.
I like your video, can I prune my fushia in the end of May ?
Yes you can. There is still time for it to flower.
