Question. I graduated from college a few years ago, and I still occasionally see my advisor around the campus I still work at. We still engage in good conversation during encounters. When I graduated, I emailed her a short story for my capstone project, because she wanted to read it, and she loved it. She's still interested in my life and career plan (though I haven't gotten there quite yet). I'm working on a short story, and I could use some extra eyes. I was thinking maybe her, since she voluntarily read the project one (back in 2021). Do you guys think it's appropriate to email her and ask if she'd like to read it? Heck, I once recommended a book that I liked, and she went out and got it. I think she does like to read in her spare time, so maybe that would include my work.

This was their answer when I asked a couple Tier 1 Former Admissions Officers... 1. Yes apply early is better 2.Yes they do compare with your other same-school applicants 3. Yes EVERYTHING matters in terms of Stats/Gpa/APs/Test scores/ECs/Awards/Essay .... They said Stats are more straight forward , ECs they can see right through having ECs just for sake of looking good, and the cookie cutter ”how to write college essay” essays 4.Having part-time job shows how enduring and you rise up to challanges while maintaing top dtats and EC involement 5. They do look at if you’re low income first Gen .. Gives you advantage if it also includes extensive grants & scholarships 6.Essay is a big deal, seems like they kept reiterating to NOT be vanilla or sound similiar to the nearly half applicants who writes like so 7.They want well-rounded excellence Academically but more specific with ECs and Comp... And helps to include couple very special talents thats not related 8.They want 1 from STEM teacher, 1 from Humanities techer and 1 from counselor 9. Their ideal applicants shows they actually are the ones choosing to go to their school .. Higher up the tier they will get sense if youre most likely going commit or not 10. Most applicants make mistake of not being transparent and not being confident enough show sense of vulnerability 11.Not really , as long as it challing you aka take the highest like AP or Honors .. If you didnt dont worry because remaining courses will speak for itself including test scores 12.SAT ACT is just a component to use if and when the other numbers are not as comprehensive like not 5.0, 5sGP 13.Declaring major is an advantage if its congruent to overall profile

Thank you! And yes - I love that there is always a party somewhere! I have a few tips: 1. Bring your vax card or a recent negative PCR test because eveeeerywhere will require you to show it in order to dine in or sit inside. 2. It will probably rain at some point! So I recommend bringing short rain boots (tall ones might make you hot depending on the time of year, and they're also harder to pack!) 3. On the topic of shoes, I would avoid expensive footwear or high/skinny heels. Some of our sidewalks are 🥴a mess haha 4. If you're unsure of where to stay, I'd recommend anywhere along St Charles Ave between Jackson St and Tulane. Easy access to the street car and very safe! I would also download the "RTA GoMobile App" so you can pay for the streetcar with your phone instead of having to carry cash. I hope that was helpful!!! You will love it here when you visit!

The landscape of Colleges in Ontario is not flat but rather contains a hierarchy of institutions. Colleges in Ontario are loosely broken up into three distinct groups: Degree Colleges (or Universities) - Offer professional programs such as Engineering, Medicine, Chemistry, Law, Pharmacy etc. To avoid confusion with other types of colleges we have placed degree colleges or Universities at this site. Community Colleges (Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology) - Offer vocational or trade programs such as plumbing, automotive, Network Administration etc. Community Colleges are publicly funded, and often have programs that lead to a technician or technologist diploma after two/three years respectively. Private Colleges (or Career Colleges) - Offer vocational or trade programs like Community Colleges but typically at an accelerated rate. In many cases programs last months not years. collegesinontario.com/ontario-colleges/

Pukar Khand I recommend anything you are comfortable with. I would do a lot of research. United States, Unites Kingdom, and Canada is the top counties but they’re very popular so it could be harder. I only recommend those if you speak nearly fluent English as those are the heavy English countries, unless you speak Spanish then you should be fine for certain states in US I recommend doing a lot of research and finding a perfect agency (that way you won’t be across the ocean when something bad happens) also try to do it as early as possible before high school as application process could take long. That’s all I can help for friendly comment neighbor
