Using an AEIOU Letterboard
So many people have a hard time communicating with our son. it's not that difficult.
The hardest part is it takes time. and he doesn't need to look at the letterboard he has it memorized. he spells better than most people so sometimes he spells out some really long words.
just take a minute use it like I'm showing here and you will get what he's trying to tell you.

Gitschlag Quilt Of Valor

For Two years we created this Quilt of Valor. It has taken some real detective work to get all the pictures together that we used on this quilt. Quality material was fun to find. Everything we found was just not suited for something like this. I had to randomly through some questions at you to get your favorite colors and hobbies. I finally had to just ask. Richard can not just answer. "Doesn't...
Doing 25mph myself.
Переглядів 254 роки тому
It's been suggested that maybe these vehicles are doing the 25mph limit. That I just don't know what it looks like. So I thought, Why don't I just record myself going in each direction. Then I'll have a reference and know for sure. I used a GPS speedo on my dash AND the regular truck speedo. BOTH said 25mph, In each direction. Sorry busses but your definitely speeding!

      Really. This is a 25mph street. NOT 40mph. I have followed them all down the street they have no regard for posted speeds. As an HOURLY employee it makes no sense why they drive so fast. Getting there late means they started late,,,

    Torque screws or clutch screws?

    • @thomaskunik15
      @thomaskunik15 2 роки тому

      Im assuming your asking about the cover to firewall screws/bolts. The cover sits tightly and it a course thread. So when you back them out they will "pop" once the thread clears the clip as it snaps back against the clip. All the screws are regular thread. I prefer Philips screws so I replace them with 1/4-20 all the time. She is still in the yard having just finished another trip from TX. 320,500 miles now. Just had the transmission rebuilt completely for the second time. First time was 200K and 4th was slipping.

    Thanks for this. I'm not very mechanical and was dreading this job. This video gave me the confidence to tackle it.

      I've found that most things on these vans are rather easy to replace. Just take your time and a lot of pictures as you go. This will help you put it back together again. I've been back and forth between three Army bases since making this. Still there doing the job. Sitting on 360K miles now. HAd to replace the belt. It was showing signs of stretching (squealing) when cold. Stopped as soon as the new one was on there.

      @@thomaskunik15 yah I had no idea how great these vans are. I've got a 96 Safari hi top conversion van that I've often lived in the last 2 years. It's got 175k on it and keeps going strong. Apparently, judging by yours, it's just getting broken in 😜 Provided I start to do some much needed maintenance on her.

      @@thomaskunik15 oh yah, these things are easy to replace IF YOU HAVE TINY HANDS, SKINNY ARMS AND DOUBLE JOINTS 🤣 Seriously though, I've been used to working on old, carburated, full sized V-8 trucks. The kind you can climb in under the hood and bring your son with you to work on. I've had to get quite creative to work on this (like replacing the fuel pump {Note to GMC, put in an access door for Pete's sake} the pwr steering pump, & the hydro booster (note to others, if brakes & steering go, check pwr strg pump 1st🙄) WTF is a 'hydro booster anyway 😒. (kidding, I know them intimately now) Learned a lot, still luv her. Sitting in her now.

    How much would you say the tank is on average even with a little gas in it? I'm planning on doing this and I thought about siphoning all the gas out of it first, or most of it. Thanks for the video.

    • @thomaskunik15
      @thomaskunik15 3 роки тому

      The fuel tank itself is pretty light. Empty I would say 15 pounds tops all together. Just bulky. Two people handle it easily. As you can see I do it myself. I just drain it into a big plastic bag inside a box if I have 1/4 tank or so. Close the bag so it doesn't evaporate. You get a good idea of conditions inside the tank this way. Rust, water, trash. They will show themselves. Clean the tank if needed. Toilet brush works well. When you ready to put it back, If its clean, its ready to go in. Dirty gas should not go back in.

    • @thomaskunik15
      @thomaskunik15 3 роки тому

      Not giving advice. Just explaining what I did. Line a good box with thick plastic bags that fit in a box big enough to hold the gas that you have. Siphon into the box. cover the fuel with another bag to prevent evaporation and accidental spillage. Drop the tank. It is relatively light. I use a floor jack as a helper. Clean out the tank while its down! Rags and a toilet brush. When you're all done put the box on something higher than the fill port tothe tank and siphon it back in.

    Many will benefit from this Did this two years ago replaced again last week The connectors on top are interesting for the uninitiated that are not familiar with Chevy connectors Tank with a lot of fuel is not ideal The rubber fuel fill hose most likely will tear Plan ahead to have a replacement If you are planning to add leaf springs or After market Leaf spring shackles : Address while tank is down due to restrictive space on front DRIVERS side shackle and the main leaf spring bolt / unusually long This is not a good time A helper is ideal if for no other reason for moral support Allow plenty of time and ... prayer 🤔 This guy knows his way around trucks, cars and tools and it shows - And the fact he took the time to wrestle with a camera while taking this on is appreciated

      Good advice on the shackles. I will be doing that here in the fall to this one. Let me guess. Your pump gave ZERO warning and did nothing when you went to go somewhere. Or else, it did like my high dollar Bosch fuel pump did one February while I was in WIsconsin. Came apart in its bracket in the tank. The two halves separated but hung together just long enough to get off the interstate and to the Hotel. Had a top speed of 30 mph for about 2 miles. Was just starting to look for the exit when she fell on her face. No reason. 27 months on the pump (warranty was gone). Fun times in the snow!

    Wasted two years of my life with this sorry excuse for a company. They are a sham company that opened in NC to absorb all the funding. That funding went to Peggy Terhune (the CEO) and a couple of her girlfriends. This place needs to be shut down yesterday. Thanks for posting this.

      This driver is even worse now. It sounds like a dragster when it leaves the clients house just down the street. WHY they have to be in 4th gear and running so fast in a 25MPH zone is a mystery. Its not like their day facility is going anywhere. I fear it going to take someone getting seriously injured before anything gets done about it. Its a shame these "Drivers" are so unprofessional. If your getting paid for the job they should do it properly.

      Notice this was a year ago.... Same driver as then? Nice being famous isn't it? I cant get your bosses to even look at you guys speeding down Fellowship. So I made you famous instead. If you are not the same driver this is not directed at you. This will stay up because driving on the top of 4th gear in a 25 is NOT the speed limit. Not safe. Not acceptable. I am not interested in what your GPS tracking says. It is called driving unsafe for conditions.... Even if it was not early morning hours Kids are out - right?. This is at least 45 in a 25. Have a great day

Now I saw you were trying to slip the other day. Im glad I was outside were you could see me. I know it was me looking that helped you.
