@racinggamechallenge the 60's era corvette 427 the other cars go accelerate so fast that you have to use brakes more often also if you want to try to match or beat my time youll want to master the the track and by master i mean learn the course and find a line that allows minimal usage of the brakes Edit i would fire up epsxe up and start now but ive got a few more days of deer season left and i intend to make the best of em then ill start playing again

Yeh definitely! The first game is so twitchy! TOCA 2 is faster aswell, didn't expect 4 seconds difference! 🏁

@@racinggamechallenge The standard TOCA cars speed in TOCA 1 top out at 146mph and the cars speed in TOCA 2 top out at 137 mph so TOCA 1 is actually faster. TBH I prefer the more challenging TOCA 1

@@AZBCDE TOCA 2 you can adjust the car setup. Take all the downforce off and adjust the gears, you can get upto about 149MPH! If you look at around 1 minute in, on the back straight, TOCA 2 gets upto 148mph. Love TOCA 1, the handling makes it so rewarding to play :D 🏁

@@racinggamechallenge Thanks for the tip bro, haven’t played with the setup in TOCA 2 so didn’t know that. With TOCA 1 I totally agree, it can be frustrating but when you get the handling right it’s so satisfying. Just requires a lot of concentration, focus to not make mistakes and to not get punted off by the AI.

This game is so nostalgic, at the time I played this a lot on the PC

I played the first game loads back in the day. Is some of the best handling physics on the PS1 of any racing/driving game 🏁

Awesome! Jumping in at the deep end 😂! We had a Master System 2 and Mega Drive 2 before PS1 but only remember Road Rash, not sure that counts as a racing game hah! TOCA defo one of my first, love it 🏁

I just played toca one and than after Grand Turismo. On the PS2 Midnight Club 2 and Need for speed and Grand Tourismo. I just ordered again Toca 1 but i see there excists more what do you thing about Toca 2 and Toca World Touring Cars.

@@frankenluk3007 Nice! They're all really good games. TOCA World is the most playable/easy to get on with, more cars and tracks and everything. TOCA 2 my favourite overall! TOCA 1 is pretty hardcore! Let me know you get on with it :D

Yeh is really good for its time. The original TOCA advertise on the box and on the in game banners that the tracks are done with Ordnance Survey. The track layout is really similar to Grid for sure. They're certainly known for their challenging handling! That's what made them so good! 🏁

@racinggamechallenge Looks so good even for today and still holds up Gtr 2 and Race 07 both legendary games still play them if you don't have anniversary mod for Gtr 2 and remastered mod for race 07 i would highly recommend checking them out !

@@racinggamechallenge I don't remember which game it was, I recently watched a PS1 game (maybe GT1 or GT2) where, if you remain alone, the speed variable gets completely f*cked up and you start blazing through the track so fast you go Out of Bounds. So the fact that it somehow moves the last car to an invisible "pit" is probably a failsafe mechanic to avoid that! You'd surely end up first, unless the Audi already finished the race I guess.

Yeh totally! This is way too crazy for a modern game. One of the many things we love about these old games! Nowadays, if they make anything extra, it'll be a new livery for £9.99 DLC 🏁

What more do you need! (other than a PS1!). Remember I had this on demo, it was Donington Park only. I would make up my own championships, writing down all the results sorting out the points etc haha! An all time classic :) Beautiful story mate, thanks for your comment 🏁

I'm playing on original hardware, so an old PS1, there's no online or anything like that. You can link the console to another PS1 for 2 player. This is from the 90s hah! 🏁
