Just Over Here Playing Quietly
United States
Приєднався 29 гру 2024
If you're new to Star Citizen: it is not a finished game. It is actively under development and we are testing what (mostly) works, and a lot of what doesn't work, to give the developers insight into where to focus their efforts. It is often not in good shape. You will randomly die for no reason. You will lose cargo/money/ships for no reason. People will kill you for no reason. Many people come to this work-in-progress with the mindset that it's a finished game. But it's not. If being an unpaid tester isn't your cup of tea, go play something else for a while and check back in whenever there's a free-fly going on.
If you want to be part of the madness, however, then join the club (and maybe/please use my referral code...

I'm not trying to sell you on the game. The game will do that itself. As such, I'm not just going to post "best of" videos. You'll get the ugly side, as well: bugs, glitches, and other "features".

Back-to-Back Hauling, Plus a Mining Run
THE REFINERY WORKED!
I just want to get that out there at the beginning...though, at the beginning, it didn't. Maybe it's because I retrieved and then restored the Prospector. I don't know. But, whatever it was, I was finally able to start the stored ore refining.
Before all that, though, I got a couple of hauling missions completed back-to-back. The second one had four stops. Everything worked, again. Granted, all the stops were at space stations, since I've been steering clear of outposts since they screwed me over. Twice.
Ships used: Freelancer MAX, Prospector

Yes, my videos are long! These are not "highlights" videos. Rather, this is actual gameplay in its entirety. So many people complain that they can't do anything in-game, because of the bugs, that I just want to show that I play for extended periods of time and the few bugs I encounter don't keep me from doing most things.
If your gameplay loops are not as reliable as you'd like at the moment...try something else.
Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium Games. "Open development" means we can play the working (and sometimes not-so-working) parts while they are creating them. Ultimately (well, initially) there will be two games: the first one to release will be "Squadron 42", which is a single-player campaign set in the Star Citizen universe, and sometime after that, "Star Citizen" itself, a sandbox MMO in a persistent universe where you make your own adventure (or other users make it for you if you're not paying attention).
Star Citizen includes (well, will include) everything from capital ship battles, base building, FPS PVP, mining, salvaging, hauling, exploration, crafting...the list is long and far-reaching. If you're unfamiliar with the project, definitely visit the official site (robertsspaceindustries.com) to dive in to what is (and will be) available.
The project is crowd funded, though it is by no means pay-to-win. Everything that you can buy on the RSI website (ships, armor, etc.) can either be found, earned or built inside the (finished) game itself. In order to be able to be able take part in the development process going on right now, however, it is necessary to buy a game package. This is really no different than buying a game once it's released, as the game package that you buy now will not only let you play what is working at the moment, but will also give you access to the finished product in the future. (It also might bear mentioning that the game package price right now is probably less than what the game will cost upon release.)
If you don't want to buy a game package right now, or don't know if your computer can run it, there is a "free fly" a couple of times every year, where you can download and try the game for free.
I suppose that I should mention that I do not work for Cloud Imperium Games. I'm simply a fan of the project, and enjoy making content showing the state of things at the moment. Speaking of which, if you do end up backing the game I'd appreciate you using my referral code...

Efficient Hauling Fail
Переглядів 354 дні тому
I found a multi-stop, station-to-station, hauling mission. Something (slightly) different. More points of failure, sure. But, at least it isn't going down to an outpost, which has never worked for me. Let's give it a shot. My train of thought: A bunch of 8 SCU crates, and something smaller. Not all going to fit. Baijinni is the farthest, so go there and first. Hmmm...the boxes don't divide even...

Obviously the freight elevators on the moons aren't fixed. In fact, that was the same issue that was going on when I tried to do a good deed previously. But since I've done multiple runs between stations and those worked...maybe it's just something with the freight elevators on outposts. Let's test that theory. Timeline: 0:00 But first, are the refineries taking orders yet? 1:12 GDMF 5:25 Hauli...

Okay...Not All Hauling Contracts Are Fixed

Since I had such good luck with hauling previously station to station obviously they've completely solved every issue that was going on with the hauling contracts... Or so I naively thought. They Fixed Hauling (Or I Got Lucky)

This is the hauling contract that I was on the way to in the previous video when I...didn't stick the landing. It worked surprisingly well. The last several times I'd tried, the cargo wouldn't appear in the station inventory, so I couldn't even get started. I've avoided cargo missions ever since for that reason, so this was a pleasant surprise. Something else I haven't done in quite a while is ...

Started off with my usual tour of Hurston's moons to collect what loot was to be found. Then, at the end, I gave a hauling contract a try, as it's been a while and I wanted to see if one of the multiple hotfixes had improved the reliability of those. I never found out. Ship used: Freelancer MAX. Yes, my videos are long! These are not "highlights" videos. Rather, this is actual gameplay in its e...
The Refinery (Still) Isn't Having It + Bonus Input Lag
Переглядів 499 днів тому
It's been a rough couple of days. This is 4.0.1 one of the hotfixes. Starting with 4.0.1 I would occasionally, at least at the start of a session, get input lag where it either wouldn't realize I had stopped pressing a movement key/flightstick, or that I was currently pressing it. Made for a lot of running into walls, and was especially concerning coming in to land. Refinery is still not refini...
Looting a C2 and Buccaneer...In Flight
Переглядів 3914 днів тому
Well, this didn't go nearly the way I was expecting. I set out to explore a bit and loot Hurston's moons. You know: my usual loop when I can't mine/salvage. I ended up stumbling across what I'm guessing was a mission that broke at some point. There was an 890, a C2, a Buccaneer, and I don't think I ever figured out what the fourth ship was. They were all hovering thousands of feet up. Nobody wa...
Crashed Caterpillar Cargo Retrieval
Переглядів 3915 днів тому
I was making the rounds and saw several ship IDs off in the distance outside an outpost. I'm sure it will end up getting me killed one day, but I went over to investigate. The most interesting, accessible ship, was a Caterpillar full of cargo. Not get-rich-quick cargo, of course, but, like last time, free to me. So, I helped myself and pretty much maxed out the main hold of the Freelancer. Time...
Hurston's Moons

You probably know what to expect by now. Another tour of Hurston's moons, for the purpose of looting outposts and inspecting/looting/salvaging/stealing ships that are "abandoned" (hey, it's not like I'm shooting the doors open). And...that's enough microTech for a while. I don't know if it's because it's more crowded, and the servers for that location are under more stress, or what, but I don't have nearly as many issues out Hurston way. Again the medical clinic at Port Tressler wasn't working (room 0). My hangar at Port Tressler overlapped/co-existed with another hangar that had a ship in it (no collission, fortunatel...
Salvaging Cargo In the Wild
Переглядів 3717 днів тому
Obviously, since it's been a week and still no 4.0.1, I could have kept the refinery jobs going for another week and afforded the Vulture by now. The Port Tresslar medical clinic worked for the first time (for me) today! Instead, I was making the rounds of the microTech moons and saw a few abandoned ships. Well, mostly abandoned, as I tried to harvest components off one and when it became appar...

More putzing around the microTech area. Looting ships (the few that weren't locked) and Research Stations. Still not a fan of microTech; too much time spent around Hurston, I guess. I have noticed a pattern of the tractor beam not working when moving between buildings/pads of the various outposts. It's like there are dead zones where it won't function. I've also noticed that round things will (...
