Hi bro, how do you connected the server to a HeidiSQL?

Getting an error 1146 (42s02) at line 2 in file: '/root/azerothcore-wotlk/data/sql/updates/db_world/2024_07_16_02.sql': Table 'acore_world.version' doesn't exist after all this. Fortunately, i did a backup of my server before attempting this....

And for coming videos , i´d like to suggest to always do a snapshot before changing anything. Almost every virtualization Software is capable of doing this. (Dont forget to delete the snapshot afterwards since it drains ressources especially when many changes are made or they are there for long time. Snapshots make it very easy to revert changes

After running the update alias the compile and build aliases fail on 12% /MySQLConnection.cpp:133:9: fatal error: use of undeclared identifier 'mysql_ssl_mode'; did you mean 'mysql_ssl_set'? Is this a known issue? should I checkout an older version of the azerothcore fork?

i followed every single step and when trying to start i only get this error message six times :" error while loading shared libraries: libmariadb.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory exit code: 127"

i follow each step exactly like yours, when im done with Dabian. i start Putty changed the settings like yours. checked for IP A in ym virtualbox. filled in the IP i start Putty nothing happends there for a minute then i get connection timed out, and in virtual box a whole message with alot in there. wtf am i doing wrong when i follow you exactly XD

can i also download any version of wow while following these steps, or does this ONLY work for WOTLK ?

I was watching your vid for a bit. The swastika at 23:13 was censored because Romero got a letter from a WW2 veteran who complained that it was in the game. Romero felt bad and decided to remove it so that is why. Also the swastika was in there because it was supposed to be a reference to Wolfenstein.

Any fix to the realm list loop? Followed instructions, realm is running and creating bots, I can log in with my GM account, but when I select the realm it idles and sends me back to the realm list again. I removed firewall and turned off firewall, added ports/ip but still not resolving the issue

You're doing great work making putting these guides out there! Does your AHbot still work? Some modules have a custom database loaded into acore_world - Creating a new one means you will need to reinstall for those modules to work again.

Doing it with su is okay if you run it on your own PC, when the server is not meant to be public on the web. If you want to make it public, you will have to disable the root user, disable log in with passwords, and make SSH only accept logins with certificates. Restrict logins from all IPs except your own. Also, if you do not provide a password for the root user during the Debian installation, the first user to be generated is automatically put into the administrator group. From then on in, all commands should then be performed with a preseding "sudo" (SuperUserDoOperation). This is common practice. Again - these hints apply only if you either run this on a real machine on the web (even if you only plan to play with maybe a few people) or in any other form outside a local virtual machine. Best

But now one other issue I have. I can not seem to get passed the first Deathknight quest. Somehow one items is missing. I can't seem to make the sword glow...

thankyou for your tutorial while my first attempt was a complete failure and i somehow screwed windows over completely my second attempt was successful.. very clear instructions... to be fair my first attempt had remains of one of those "repacks" on the system... for anyone that keeps getting disconnected at login, it most likely has to do with the bots drop the bot count to 50 from 200 then slowly increase it until you find the happy limit where your not disconnecting

Thanks nirv! I'm slowly learning some things in Linux and using the private server as an excuse to get into it. I would have struggled with the change from maria to mysql on my own. Following your text doc I was able to get things running again without any hiccups. I appreciate the time you put into making these videos and guides and I'm enjoying wotlk with player bots.

One think to note for those of you who are using mod-ah-bot and are not migrating acore_world DB, you have to do the following: sudo mysql -u root use acore_world source ~/azerothcore-wotlk/modules/mod-ah-bot/data/sql/db-world/mod_auctionhousebot.sql; exit; Otherwise the server wouldn't start.
