we in Suriname are now in the big rain season. It last from eind april till middle august. Then the long hot season will begin. Yess fever and pain comes from walking in the rain.

Hello I'm from Panamá! Some of your questions and inquires I can answer :D So first, the place your hotel was located isn't really that good of a place for tourists. I think you were by la Loteria and la Exposición, only local people feel comfortable going around, however, enjoy your time coz it is a very walkable part of the city. For next time (or if anyone else wants to know) be careful of your things like phone, wallet, keys, watch, etc. I'm not saying you are going to get robbed first time you get outside, but being cautious is for the best. And no matter who you are always be with someone at night. You actually did a long walk to go to Cinta Costera 😂 The lady was so nice asking around for someone that could understand you!, and that happens a lot, older people only know english from when they were in school and never use it again unless they have a job were they talk to tourist or for basics. They guy from the fruit stall was so fun! when people notice you don't speak the languaje they like to joke about a lot of things! I think he also said something like if you wanna record him, pay 15 bucks 🤣Here in Panama people are really friendly, so they talk to you and don't mind being recorded. If someone doesn't like it they would just ignore it or try to avoid you. Anothe tip for the peolpe: learn the numbers in spanish and the money we use! so you don't get confused when paying. The currency we use are US dollars and balboa/martinellis coins. So 1 USD=1 balboa. And the other coins also have names like: 1 cuara (a quarter)= 25 cents. You can look it up on wikipedia or I guess asking for help from hotel staff or in the airport can be of help :D The place where you went down the scalator is the metro station. You went in la Loteria Nacional station. For those that wanna ride, you will need the metro card (this card can be used for buses and the train) and you can go easy to Albrook, Cinta Costera, Metromall and I think there is access to the airport, it is cheap! like 25 cents for buses and 35 cents for the train, I think you can use credit cards but I'm actually not sure. Bring money for the travel because taxis and Ubers are really expensive. Sorry for the paragraph but I hope you enjoyed your little time here 🥰
