you still need to use -aG options for usermod when adding new secondary group, it overwrites users group memberships. It looks like its working fine in your exampel because user John wasnt a member of any other group before so nothing got deleted. If he was a member of sales and hr and you would try adding him to finance by usermod with just -G his groups would be changed to just finance removing his access to sales and hr

Hay Victor, i was installing openshift on a virtual box VM with RHEL 9 . "crc setup" is not running, it stopped with the comments "You need to enable virtualization in BIOS". Though virtualization is already enabled in VM (enabled nested VTx/AMD-V). But it's still giving the same error. pls suggest .

After doing manual configuration i can't log in my machine it say "Module is Unknown" I am using rhel 7 in VMware so just take snapshot before practical and after doing practical I can't log in my machine with the help of snapshot I did this practical 4 to 5 time but again and again i can't log in to my machine

I've used VMware Workstation to install Ubuntu Linux 22.04.4 version and seems like there is no faillock installed in this version. I've tried to use cat /etc/pam.d/system-auth to read the files but still nothing shows up, and also used rpm command to look for any directories related to faillock but nothing appears. Do you know any recommended way to solve this problem? Thank you!

NO NO NO it is not defaults here is the fstab entry UUID=something /mount_point FS_TYPE _netdev,x-systemd.device-timeout=0,x-systemd.requires=vdo.service 0 0 This is why I will never use VDO. I can do the same stuff with ZFS and BTRFS. VDO and Stratis are garbage.
