😮😮 keren
I can’t lie. Looks like a trap. Side loading that without securing to a tree is just asking for an accident to happen. I love climbers and used them for years and this is just silly. Some times when you se a climber they shift a little… not to mention if it falls off your feet and slides down from under you. Might want a leash to a belt top or something. Smh. This is silliness. All to do what? Save like 2 lbs? Smh b
Your input is appreciated, this has been modified since then addressing the safety issues May not be your style it may not be for you But it is for thousands of others I can’t even count the number of contacts I’ve sent video instructions on how to make these all across the United States Just in case you change your mind open shot top section with a lone wolf, bottom platform, trimmed, and mated together make the ultimate set up Good luck stay safe out there
Did you watch the (One Stixing like a Boss) video? Either way you should see this new one. Title (Climbing Platform??) Hope to get some feedback. Thanks
Complimenti per la tua professionalità e sincerità, sei un grande uomo!
That's a neat little climber. Try pushing a rope up with The HUNTER PUSH STIXS, while secured with a lineman's rope (with a tree squeeze). After you have done it once from ground. You could always rappel down if you drooped the climber (If you didn't have it tethered to you). It would be SAFER, easier, faster, and quieter. Let know if you agree. ua-cam.com/video/5RAXg9LovLc/v-deo.html
Have to try this again, when I did this before I had problems raising the platform…
I bet a rock climbing harness would be awesome with this
good luck finding a tree without branches
make happens if the foot platform falls down the tree
Might wanna attatch the playform to your saftey rope or yourself. You end up loosing that platform halfway up the tree youre screwed.
Many many improvement since this video I appreciate you looking out
Thats pretty Awesome man!
I do the same thing climbing sticks are to much hassle
Can you fabricate your own climber for us so we can buy this style from you, hopefully soon they will make a easy perfect small climber for this style would be awesome
Sweet
Great, until that platform falls!
Genius!
the only issue with this is that when you side load it the platform is going to twist. another thing is that if you bump it wrong it could fall to the bottom of the tree. Also if you do this then you might as well just use a regular climbing stand setup. saddle hunting came out so you can hunt in spots that a climber will not work on
No twist Prototype Many mods since 6 Trophies Taken Love how your in and set under 5 min
I like it smart thinking!
Thank you man since then, I have made several more modified lighter versions Taken several trophies since and this was my goto method
Pretty slick Im too fat though
No your not watch (Climbing Platform??)
Why not just one stick, this makes no since.
I love it great Idea
Thats brilliant
I would love to see a video on how you actually cut it down to that size and made it. Great idea!
Genius
Very nice innovation. I'm too fat and old to saddle hunt. Only thing I would suggest to help you is to attach a safety rope to the bottom half. If it falls you're not going to have fun getting down.
Nice shot and a nice buck.
Freaking Awesome!
Hows it holding up?
No issues Since that video currently now have 450 miles on it I’ve noticed the key thing is to get the junk oil that the manufacturer sends in it Out of there and replace with quality oil and filter
@@gregorypiwcio7883 thanks for reply
I had a monster on at gate 31 and as I got it to the surface it spit out a yellow perch I had actually hooked That laker was a 10+ pounder But the biggest one I ever saw was in the stream flowing in at Gate 8 it actually swam up part of the way probably feeding on the trout That was a 20+ pounder
Just take a rappel rope and a madrock with you and toss the platform to the ground and then rappel down otherwise I’ll try this
I'm wondering if you can hang from the tether and move the platform around branches to bypass the branch limitations of a hand climber. This certainly gives ideas. Even just to replace climbing sticks and have a separate platform to cam into the tree for greater stability if that platform isn't stable enough to swing around the backside of the tree from. Are you still using this method?
I only use this method past two years did not use any other method harvested 3 mature bucks I don’t climb trees with limbs on them I find straight trees just suitable for a climber and have had no issues at all The best part about Saddle hunting is you don’t need full-size trees just the size of a basketball and there seem to be more of those around making it much easier for prime stand placement
非常好用。
I’ve already hunted this way last season…the only issue I had was finding a tree with no limbs in the area I wanted to hunt. Definitely need pre-scouting and cat eye the right tree.
Yes sir there’s a time and place for this where it is ideal and for others it’s a preset stick and platform attack
I did the same thing with my Lone Wolf bottom! Saves so much money, and doubles as a platform!
Absolutely my friend you see it the way I do you already own the equipment so it’s no extra cost and the weight drops substantially
@@gregorypiwcio7883 do you ratchet the platform tightly to the tree once you're in position? How does it work for putting your weight on the side edge?
@@ScottWConvid19 absolutely it gets strapped side pressure shift is fine I’ve tested unstrapped as well but not at hunting heights
I do this with my lone wolf but man I tell ya, this only works with ideal trees. Have you ever had to adjust the belt half way up and tried to get onto the platform after adjustment? Do that is such a workout and hard when you have all your gear on you while climbing. I'm buying a ascender and attaching a rope to that so when I do need to adjust, I can attach that to climb back up.
No disrespect but we started off with the loan wolf idea and tried it out was super sketchy the summit framework bites and holds a lot better have not had to adjust anything midclimb as of yet Multiple trees I’m sure it will happen eventually but specially used this all last season and tagged out everyone has a method this is the one that works for us
@@gregorypiwcio7883 the reason why lone wolf is sketchy is because it doesn't have side support like the summit. But yeah, most trees around me are fat at the bottom and thin out real quick 🤣. I don't have the luxury in the dark morning to pick out what tree I want. I also climb super high, so that might also be my problem. Last hunt I checked with my range finder, I was 15 yards up 🤣🤡.
Sounds a lot like one sticking lol. I use a whoopie sling for starting up the tree and going around branches. Works awesome.
What's your opinion on this machine? I'm debating on purchasing one.
Cab noise is excessive when fully enclosed I used a roll of sound dampening and it helped Much much quieter with doors n windshield of this spring Also shifter cable stiff in winter cold I garage kept and was not a issue after may just need some grease in cable I will address that Loose cage bolts upon delivery Minor thing but every product has it flaws No mechanical issues to report
Get that shit patient
Thanks man I’ve thought about it myself this is the first version of my idea I have me two more revised versions since then
@@gregorypiwcio7883 post an update!!!
we need more of these videos :)
Man that is alsome how did u do that platform
Nice idea. It would help to provide build instructions.
This is old school first design many modifications have been done since
What happens when the bottom falls?
This was just an overview there of been many modifications since then use this method exclusively last year to take my two big bucks I will be making a video shortly of my new updated set up
Looks like you're having fun
New toy buddy
@@gregorypiwcio7883 nice
Good job buddy
Are you in high or low. I was wondering about that in deep snow
I was in low range and this has been driven on a few times but originally went to 9 inches of snow no problem
There is a company out of Virginia that sells a system like this for way too much money and not the best design.
I do the same thing with my Lone Wolf climber. I ditched the sit and climb portion of it and just use my saddle in the exact same way. Food for thought, I tether the platform to my lineman loops while climbing and defending so if it slips I dont lose the platform 😉 I also tether the platform to the tree once im at my desired height. I honestly can't believe more people aren't doing this. They are working so much harder physically and taking more time for literally every other method of climbing. Those 1 stick guys I'm looking at you lol
I do apologize I will be making an updated video currently have been battling kidney stones for over the past month three surgeries Hopefully will be getting to make that video for you guys within the next week
Is this a summit open shot top climber , what is the inside measurement from left to right , I was also looking at this mod I have several summit stands
The Open shot works great! I used .100 thick aluminum diamond plate, just fold down a 3/4" lip in front for strength. I screwed this down with 6- 10-24 screws.
Holy shit guy.... I've been looking at sticks and how to make diy platforms and such.... and racking my brain on how to run a stable and quick and light weight system.... this is ingenious! Thanks for sharing
Funny I found this video, because I'm actually in the process of modifying my summit. Question for you though. How do you keep it from kicking out if you have to move to one edge or the other for a shot? Great video! literally perfect for what I was looking for!
We don’t usually hanging off the side of these are usually just ratchet strap it to the tree when I’m at hunting height so far 4 deer Have been taken off this set up and my current new one
Alsome how did u do that platform
