Forge Guard 1.1 smelters wrath - Empowered Lagon with Harbringer vs lvl 84

Build in Video ^^^
This video is just me briefly talking over the leveling experience and showcasing me killing Empowered monolith Lagon with a lvl 84 forgeguard running Smelter'sWrath. This build is deffinitely not optimized but what I arrived at over my leveling experience.
Long term I think this build will be OK. I am worried about dieng in 2s because I have to stand still to channel smelter's wrath later. Otherwise I like having minions with the build for QOL. Phantom grip ring, and gloves with armor shred + ignite (or mixed health perk) is a goal.

Last Epoch [1.0.4] - Forge Guard - Warpath testing / possible build ideas
Переглядів 2277 місяців тому
I do not recommend Warpath as forge guard currently. It does okay, but the ST dps is too low to be viable. I would recommend just playing Forge Guard as the Rive Healing Hands build. Or as a summoning skill for forged weapons and play it as a minion build. My build in the video (Crit warpath mana building testing): www .lastepochtools. com/planner/QJz6P5YQ Crit Phys Warpath - What I think an 'o...
Last Epoch 1.0.3.2 - Forge Guard Shield Throw (fire) build - Theorycraft / overview (not good)

I do not recommend using Shield throw in its current iteration. Here I go over multiple theorycrafted builds that I thought might work, and at the end I showcase an unoptimized hybrid version as I saw that it. My builds are wardless, STR focused. Build I used in the video (Reminder none of this is truly optimized). Fire shield throw on hit. www .lastepochtools. com/planner/QdzPOXeo Hybrid build...

Build I used in the video. www .lastepochtools. com/planner/QeY14kpQ 'Optimal' build - Edit; updated 3/22/2024. in the build I used I didn't have Harbinger of dust talent which is a 'more' global multiplier and is mandatory. www .lastepochtools. com/planner/BgJJbpdQ 'Optimal' build very similar - with more health mods. All the armor types stay the same, with the option of changing out rings. Ot...
Last Epoch [1.0.2] - Forge Guard - Manifest Armor Forge Breath [Rant / showcase]
Переглядів 2,3 тис.7 місяців тому
Update: I missed the most important talent in volatile reversal... Build has been updated... I do not recommend this build at this time. I will say manifest armor definitely scales a good amount better with LP items. Getting LP helm and weapon about doubled its damage. Edit: I pushed this a bit further. Julra gloves, and flat spell damage for minions on weapon helped some. For self sustain I de...
This was great info, thanks for posting it for all the obscure use junkies out there. My build is around trying to make ring of shields useful. The build concept is that if block is to be useful, then I'm wanting to get hit. So at the moment it's rebuke/smelters/ring of shields. The unique shield you show in this video makes me think shield throw might be a 4th element, .5s proc is a respectable cooldown. Ignite can scale smelters damage so it looks viable with shield throw/ring of shields surving an automated ignite spread and buff mechanic with smelters for primary damage and rebuke for stacking 10kish ward.
I'm currently trying to make a similar build. It's a struggle lol I found that the ring of shields has the minion tag, so grabbing the talent so your shield throw ricochet off allies really helps with single target dps
Havent watched through the full video yet but did look at all the linked LE tools build planners I was inspired by the Sigeon shield, but ultimately moved away from it for an Iron Glass shield/Dawn shield. I went absolutely full ignite though, and what I'm doing doesnt match any of your planners linked I don't think, and haven't seen anyone doing this summary: shield throw with no cooldown + lavaburst + smite on hit, all as ignite scaling Seal a t1 -throwing cost onto rings. Don't scale any +throwing damage at all, or anything crit related, just need throwing speed because it is an ignite build. Elemental Damage Over Time rolls everywhere you can manage. I use Maehlins Hubris gloves so that all bleed chance adds to ignite chance. I use 4 sigils to add +ignite chance, smite proc with ignite chance (no Devotion+mana stacking). Singularity because non crit. Smite cast on throwing from 3 idols, I don't need a 4th because smite isn't 95% of my dps it's more like 30%, so I use a Throne of Ambition instead of a 4th idol. I have Javelin specced to cast smite just to add more stacks. Use an unspecced Lunge. (shield throw + smite + sigils + ring of shields + javelin) for more uniques I use (with LPs) bleeding heart, Fiery Dragon Shoes, Calamity, Soulfire, Maehlins Hubris. I put "extra bleed chance if wielding axe" affix, and I use a Dragonbone Axe with ignite+bleed rolls. Also helps to have "firedamage+ignite duration" rolls It's turned out to be very very strong. On LEtools with all tier5 rolls I have like 300% ignite + 300% bleed (which converts to ignite), but that's still missing out on like 500%+ of the ignite chance (so about 1000-1200% ignite in total). Also shield throw hit + lava burst + smite is a layered hits for ignite stacking. Lots of penetration with fire/ignite and like 60% increased duration, about +2000% fire DOT damage There are ways to push the damage a bit harder. Could use a 2hand axe and get like 300-400% more ignite chance, or could use a Flayers Pride which would add 70% bleed(ignite), but don't know that it's worth it not sure if comments can have links
I've really been enjoying listening to your thoughts on Forge Guard, as someone that also decided to tackle the "puzzle" of Forge Guard, hearing your thoughts is really interesting! Thanks for the video.
Sorry, I had Volatile Reversal specced wrong..., you are supposed to pick harbringer of dust which is another multiplier for another big boost. woops. www .lastepochtools. com/planner/B522lEXo Build in description has been updated. And from reading other comments, I swapped to Julra's gloves. And getting flat spell damage perks on weapon is better imo.
I came here to learn more about Forge Guard builds and stayed because of LibreOffice 🐧
For crit build you could also use the axe that has the crit implicit and you can use the node inside sentinel for 30% attack speed with a sword or an axe
I will admit I did skip ahead but major props for the amount of research you put into this! I'm just starting a forge guard because I love the fantasy of it. There is a really strong smite build kicking around that uses shield throw to proc smite if you want to keep pushing corruption. You've saved me an incredible amount of testing time so the least I can do is share the vid, all the best: ua-cam.com/video/xcZ5Fd5Jdis/v-deo.html
I been trying to build something like this, it's diff work in progress, good to see someone else is trying too
Just want to add notes for people who don't wana watch and are looking for some quick facts (I believe the following to be true). 1. Minions do not inherit attributes. -STR or INT or VIT, etc on your helm, or gloves or whatever does nothing for minions. (I mean that he inherits your hat, he doesn't get anything out of it. The minion still Benefits from the STR from the skill scaling baseline). 2. Minions do not double dip on Minion Damage modifiers. -The minion damage over time on my weapon for example - It only applies once. Not once from me, and then once on the minion. The minion does not have minions - > that is how it is viewed. 3. Minions do not inherit 'special' stats. -The execute from last laugh with special text. The taking fire damage when killing an enemy with a fire skill from my helm, etc. Some stuff they do - like 'shocked when hit' from shield for example, or chill. This build in the main video can probably be further optimized and actually be a decent build imo. The stat scaling% that the minion gets - > LP items become extremely strong on them. There is likely a viable version of this for melee attacks also. I wanted to try forge breath for the AOE size. I also wanted to squish in smelters wrath so I could use the skills but it just didn't work out.
Just a mini update - You should get the two spell damage perks on your weapon. It is a huge help. Along with Julra gloves that have cast speed on them if you can. I ended up pushing this build a bit further, but not enough to warrant a video of its own. I went with Vengance for the DR, and healing hands for self-healing to sustain while the minion kills things. I ended up having the problem where my minion was dieng and I had to keep re-summoning him around arena wave 165+. I think Shield throw? or a smite healing hands may have been better than vengance, and go for a full attunement build. I see there is a Forge Guard who has done wave 480+ on the release leaderboards. Also that the Rank 1 spot is someone who went with shield throw manifest armor bleed build. I might try that just to see how much better it might be. I was able to kill T4 Julra with this build but it took some tries / was a pain. Map clearing is pretty nice, you just keep running and the Manifest Armor just aoe 1-2 shots all the mobs. At least in the 260 corruption range. www .lastepochtools. com/planner/oN2ZjPOo Last version / edit of this forge breath build.
Any update to the build?
Dope
doesn't the forgebreath node scale with inteligence which u have none since u went attunement?
Correct, I think to do this build better you should build full STR, and go Cleaver Solution to make all your STR apply to INT. However, the minion doesn't inherit your stats, so 1. I am not sure if my INT would help his forge breath damage. 2. The slots I would want to put INT on, a lot of those would be 'dead stats' for the inheriting. So I could've had an 'increasing' effect of about ~ 40 int, which would be equivalent to adding ~ 160% fire damage. So it would be a bump to forge breath, but an extra 160% on top of the current 900% wouldn't end up being that big of a buff, like a 10% damage boost at most ish? possibly 20%, I am not sure how that 350% scaling applies with my stats (if my int would even effect it, since it is the minion casting it, and the minion itself is scaling off of my damage already?).
Sorry I just double checked, INT only scales forge breath for MANA EFFICIENCY. Very cool, so int would actually not help forge breath damage at all. Even though it has int as a scaling tag. (at least that is my understanding from reading it...)
@@Fireguarding what even becomes more mana efficient, you dont even cast forge breath ur minion does
That’s what the node says, there are definite outliers for skills. So int doesn’t help from what I can tell
If you truly like the execute, I would highly suggest moving 2 points around in Rive to take 1 pt Brutality and 1pt Coup De Grace. It will allow you to execute w/ Leviathan. I'm currently running a very similar build, so I appreciate having something to compare. You're slightly further ahead in your progression as I took a Runemaster to end game first.
Ok so i am testing this too and i have a build that might be able to scale wayyy into corruptions. Its perform VERY well in empowered so far. You can abuse 3 items: - julra obsession gloves give bonkers spell damage. - dragonflame edict with dragonflame nova - explodi forge weapons I am using multi strike with healing hamds and smite for immortality basically. A lot of int, fire damage and minion stuff. Its pretty great and you spam forge strike
I didn't go with Julra (possibly viable as an LP option) because I wanted the cast speed. The cast speed and the minion flipping around when it is surrounded is rough. I am not sure how much the added spell damage would help. Going from 70 -> 70+10 (from the text) + 24 (240% stats inherited) would be going from 70 to 104. Which would be a DPS increase of 48%? So if you can get an LP 2 version, and keep the cast speed and damage % that might actually be really good. I didn't realize flat spell damage would add so much, I would definitely recommend those gloves. I'll edit description. There is also an option to get 'void' added spell damage to chest, but the forge breath is Fire damage, so we would miss out on too much scaling from getting those prefixes I believe.
Can you share your build? I have a friend who is obsessed with making this work and we have been theory crafting for hours lol :d
