vintage knits | all things frog: vintage knitting and crochet | attempting a mystery pattern 🐸
Переглядів 2,3 тис.21 день тому
In the second instalment of my Vintage Knits (& Crochet) series I've decided to do a two parter. And they have a special theme: frog! I've always loved frogs, with this love stemming from taking home tadpoles in year 4 at school, and watching them grow into tiny frogs which we released in my yard. Now as an adult, I'm showing my deep appreciation for our amphibious friends by making cute (and s...

This was a busy-fun weekend! Sunday was spent holding a stall at a farmers market, as part of a special craft and artisan market day. This market was surrounded by rolling green hills, filled with happy market folk and the weather was bliss! I had such a lovely time there and was thoroughly content. The next day I travelled into town to explore some op shops, collecting supplies for upcoming pr...

vintage knits | attempting the '3 hour knit sweater' | 1930s | knitting challenge
Переглядів 23 тис.2 місяці тому
Welcome to my new mini series: Vintage Knits! I'll be trying out vintage patterns, with the end goal of filling my wardrobe with decades of different styles. Today we're working on this mysterious/gimmicky '3 hour sweater'. Can I complete a knitted top in three hours? Possibly. Will the actual knit time be revealed in the video? Almost definitely. This pattern was a fun find on thevintagepatter...

Oh my! I spotted a Dutchie sweater, hehe. I love the frog projects, thanks for sharing!
It’s so pretty!!!❤
😂 Sorry to laugh but your dangerous winter weather looks like a normal day of a British summer, but your warmer😂 crazy world. I feel your pain and also the customers that missed out on your gorgeous makes. Was it your home made dyes that you stamped the chooks on socks..... Great idea. Love your vids, well chill me out, even when your stressing out to get things done. When is your next market? ✌️❤
Oh trust me, we got the winds later in the day, and it would have been a very challenging market! Chasing my stock flying away would have made for a terrible Sunday 😂😂 Next market will be in August and is thankfully indoors. Thank you so much for watching 💛💛
Ахаааа😂 так смеюсь. Английское лето - это страшное явление
Your videos always brighten my day! Love seeing your work and sorry to hear about the weather and market - have a good rest now ☂️🌈
Thank you so much! Hoping the next market is a lot calmer 💛
I really love your video filming style and vibes.
That's so nice to hear! Thank you 💛
Maaate my husband and I were planning to move to TAS at the end of the year until some other circumstances came up. Your videos absolutely fuel my desire to move down 😍
It's a pretty beaut place, especially in winter. Hope you make it down here! Thanks for watching 💛
I love that you use a typewriter for your cards! I'm sorry the market was cancelled, on the bright side that gives you time to work on more projects ☺️
It honestly makes creating all my cards/packaging so much more enjoyable! I love the thunk of the keys. Thank you for watching 💛
Hi, I adore this little top, where can I find the pattern? You did an amazing job.
Thank you so much! There's a link in the description 💛
New here... such nice discovery! thanks for your inspiring video!
Thanks for watching! 💛
He looks stupid. I love him.
😂😂😂
Oh my gosh! I NEED to make that frog rug! 😍
It's such a fun and easy make! I making another one for our bedroom 💛 thanks for watching!
Disgusting! 🤢🤮
that looks like crap
Обожаю смотреть обзоры таких магазинов! Спасибо! Какая теплая у вас зима
Thank you! It's mild. We get a bit of snow in some areas. It's the windchill that can be brutal! Thanks for watching 💛
That 't IJ sweater is a long way from home!! Can confirm that their craft beers are excellent. Perhaps the froggy hat could do with moving the eyes down lower and wider set to make it look more cute and less creepy? Since perhaps your head is not at child height and when you look down his eyes just...appear... (I do love it though, creepy and all)
I sampled them back in 2018! Not a bad drop at all 🍻 I've added a little mouth to the frog beanie. I think it 5 10% less creepy 😂 thanks for watching!
Absolutely LOVEEEE all of the frojects 😍 happy I found your page! This video was fantastic and you made so many cool things 😱❤️
Thank you so much!! I've got more frogjects coming up 💛
What a fun bunch of froggy projects !!! The rug is my favorite and I might have to make it !
It's so cute, I feel bad standing on the froggy face 😅 thanks for watching 💛
Secret frogject...
😂 my secret prog frojects 🐸
they're all sooo cute, but i will say i have a soft spot for Freddy! i might try and knit one for myself too 🐸 exited for part2!
Please do! I've found some great patterns for Part 2. Thank you for watching 💛
I flippin’ LOVE 🧡🧡🧡 that hat! Everything came out so fun but that hat wins all ties 😁
It's pretty dang cute!! Thank you for watching 💛
I like your vibe🤝
💛💛
Super fun makes!!! My favourite is the rug ❤
Thank you! I think it might be mine too 💛
Oooh, I have one of those!!!
I have a few of these and so does one of my grans xxx
I love that you're collecting them 💛 do you use them often? I'm very much thinking of going back for them!
We had the teapot and butter dish when we were growing up. UK 1980s
Adorable
Oh these are WONDERFULL! I adore the color pallet you chose for the hat. (Also that coriander for the road bit at the beginning made me physically recoil... I could NEVER😂)
Thank you so much! Haha coriander can be very divisive, I love it 💛
That reminds me of the 80s when I was young ☺️
I love your vintage knits episodes. And I love being in your 70's vintage vibe world, being a child of the 70's myself. Did you make your wine colored cardigan or was that a vintage find? I love the shape of it. If you didn't make it would you consider replicating it or designing a pattern?
Ah thank you so much! I have plenty more planned! The Cardigan is one of my treasures, Tasmanian made and a bargain at the op shop. I could definitely find a similar pattern for it, I'll keep you posted 💛
I made my son a similar style hat years ago, except his was a turtle! 🐢 The hat itself was the shell and I made the head and legs 3D and stuffed and stitched them on, along with a teeny tail! He loved it and wore it for several years. The kids in his class all loved it, too!
Oh, my point was that the hat is my fave of the 3 makes today! I do love frogs.
I love this! I hope the adults at my work love it too 😂 thank you so much for watching 💛
I love yarn too!! The jumper you are knitting for yourself looks gorgeous!
Canr wait to finish it, then start on another hundred projects! Thank you for watching 💛
Where is the comment that explains how to do it
There's a video coming out soon! Stay tuned 💛
Just let you in on a little thing Those teapots are part of a larger collection which when put together there's I think 10 of them they make a little English Cottage town
Oh no, now I need to collect them all 😅
I love you but your set is sooo distracting
Haha it's always slightly disorganised, hard to keep it clean 😅 thank you for watching 💛
Why do you call it an "op shop" and not just a thrift store?
That's what we call it here in aus 💛
I scored a huge bag of brown and beige chunky weight handspun at an Op Shop in Devonport last week. Within two days I knit most of it up into a vest.
What a find!! That's amazing 💛
@silkandsticks yeah, I'm a Spinner so I know how much work goes into it
Love the books. I love looking at the kids books for the artwork...some of the illustrations are amazing. I use them as well for mixed media journaling.
And well done with the wool!! I've never found any decent yarn on my opshop visits, I do seem to collect knitting needles though!
The books were such a good find! I'm thinking of framing some of the illustrations, hard to pick which ones.
Wool can be very hit or miss, this is the first time in a long time I've found so much. Thank you for watching 💛
my dad worked for IBM and brought me home one of their typewriters it was RED he also brought me about 5 or 6 of the type font balls hours of fun for a 9 year old in 1971 i like yours 🤪
Those frames are Devine!! Some pressed flowers is what I would put in them I think.
OOo good idea! 💛
What a very pretty sweater. I would like to make one myself now.
Hi new sub here😊 Those frames remind me of the old siloette pictures black on white side profile heads, maybe Victorian era!
Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking too! Such an interesting frame. Thanks for watching 💛
Very nice to look at. I like to see something of your homeland☺️
We're very lucky to live in this beautiful place. Thanks for watching!
Are you at Marion Bay SA?
Tasmania 💛
Oh wow it is super cute on you! I’m not brave enough to try reading a vintage pattern though..🙈 Well done!
I promise you it's not too tricky, just the sizing can be an issue 😅 thanks for watching 💛
This looks really awesome :) But your videos are so short! Any chance of a longer video showing the whole process so I could do something similar myself?
Hi! That's something I'll definitely keep in mind, especially going into winter. Thanks for the idea 💛
Hi, these look great. Would love to see a video with more in depth about the process you used for the botanical printing.
Thank you for watching! This was part of a workshop my friend held, but I'll keep it in mind for a future video 💛
Does your movie make you sad?
😅 it was making me scared/disgusted!
Are you knitting with Luxury or Classic BWM? Luxury is in my naughty cornwr for pilling too much.
I've got Caramel and Chilli in classic and the browns are in luxury. That's a shame they've been pilling! Classic has always been a trusty yarn, so I'll see how I go with Luxury. Thank you for the heads up! 💛
@@silkandsticks I haven't used classic yet but I'm willing to give it a go! I'm also an Aussie and I almost entirely knit vintage knitwear (and I have a knitting podcast too btw) and my Aussie vintage knitting buddies all use classic instead of luxury. I will need to give the classic a go soon for sure.
