I'm all for nature and stuff, but I've seen how copious elephant poo and pee is, and I wouldn't want to be in the water if they decided to relieve themselves.
But yet you probably swim with kids in a pool!😊
@robertwehmeyer9684 nope, don't swim. But if I were to do so, a pool is chlorinated and can be treated with urine detection dye. An elephant's poo volume is 20 liters, and its urine volume is 10 liters each time it relieves itself. That's 130 times the amount that a fully adult human gets rid of in a whole day. An elephant can't communicate that it has diarrhea or a UTI. It just lets it all go wherever it is, adding another element of yuck to an already wide open yuckfest. When being playful, human children don't snort fecal infested water up their noses and squirt it all over people. Yours is the epitome of an apples to oranges comparison.

This industry is so weird. Go bath the elephants in a dirty river? Still exploiting the elephants, but by letting tourists pay to give them baths whilst probably getting themselves a parasite from the water. Anyone know if they chain the elephants up after the show? All the elephants I saw in Thailand were penned and chained so they couldn't break the fence and run off.

These elephants are tortured and live chained to poles when not with tourists! Do you really think this animal wants to bath with humans! These elephants are chained to concrete poles and forced to breed with bulls … then the babies are CRUSHED into compliance! Look up and watch the tortured elephant babies!!!

We already spent much of the day feeding them and playing with them. The baby was playing with us earlier. There was no forcing the elephants to pick us up or anything and no riding was allowed. Each elephant had their own caregiver so if they wanted to walk away they could and their caregiver would go with them.
