Very cool video. I went to Faro in June 2022. I loved it! I wanted to go somewhere different from where I live and more relaxing. Faro was perfect for this. I also practiced my Portuguese. The neighbourhood I lived in only spoke Portuguese haha. Next time if you go, you can try visiting Lagos. Another city in the Algarve area which contracts Faro (it's quite a lively atmosphere lol).

Does the app work with rfid cards?
Hello, iPhones can only read NFC which is a subset of RFID. So in general it can read RFID but not all standards.

iPhones cant read the Wifi credentials from an NFC tag, even the latest ones likes of iPhone 14. Bummer.
Yes unfortunately iPhones only read message types like https without an app. A Wi-Fi and a vCard for example always need an app. On Android these work without an app as well. I’d recommend going for a Wi-Fi QR code because these can be read by iOS and Android with the on board camera app.

Yes correct, the workaround for this is to create an online version. You can find more info about that in the app when creating a business card.

For anyone wondering, connecting to Wifi using NFC will not work on iPhones without the app installed. More recent Android phones will be able to utilise this. IOS does not have an option to read Wifi data through its native NFC scanner, so you will have to either connect manually, or use a QR code for wifi on iPhones, which does work. Until Apple releases an update to include processing Wifi data using NFC, this is the best we can do. Do not harass this poor developer. He has no control over it.

Hi! You can write and read NFC tags using the app without paying a cent. There are premium features you can subscribe to, but all the basic functionality is totally free.

they are the same, it is name more just for form factor (like card, square, sticker, tag)

iOS opens Apple Pay when it sees an active NFC field. Normal NFC tags don't have an active field. An active field is generated by door access systems or payment terminals and there is nothing you can do to prevent that.
@@NFC_cool Thanks for a response! So I have an item that opens with an NFC card (I have both the terminal and the card). If I try to read the terminal - I get Apple Pay to open, so it doesn’t work. If I use the card, your app doesn’t detect it, but, however, iPhone does see the card if I use it as a trigger to create a shortcut. Is there a way I can use my phone with the app to duplicate the card I have?
@@TheBatracho No sorry, card emulation is not supported by iOS. Apple gives the Shortcuts app more rights than for developers and it uses just the identifier of your card to trigger actions. Thank you for this comprehensive and direct video! Facing issue with NFC tag capacity, it says tag capacity too small (127 limit compared to 500 required). Any suggestions?
You could either make the vCard smaller or buy bigger NFC tags. 127 bytes is not sufficient for a proper business card in my opinion. You can find the links to get some in the app.

No, iOS can not. Android can though. On iOS you can use the QR code. The camera app recognizes them.

Unfortunately not, but you can put a link to NFC for iPhone in the AppStore together with your business card and then the other person can quickly download the app. An alternative is to use a QR code as a widget. The iOS camera can scan all of those QR data types and offers an action for the data.
