Been here 2-3 times , We are going here today again as my daughter has just gone to Chester university, and is staying in the student accommodation opposite. We are going to try the food, been in there a couple of times for a pint and last month when we dropped her off and then visited and it seemed good. It’s really nice on the canal there, and if you are a student it’s a short walk on the road or on the canal back to the student digs from campus. (5-10 mins)

I was with wayne when he slipped ill never forget that night i also remember me stubzy and lee paul get to wayne at the bottom not good all 3 of us went to get help and call emergency services from the travellers rest pub we didnt go back to the hill we went Wayne's house to see if nicola waynes sister was ok and comfort her but the police wouldn't let us in then upon leaving there we seen gayle and steve getting out of a taxi by beechwood centre lee paul just said there's been an accident it's wayne and the pair of them run in the direction of their house such a sad night that will live with me the rest of my life such an amazing lad we had some good times such a laugh till we meet again all my love PADDY (john paul Matthews) xxx

Used to be all beautiful golden dunes down there, until they began messing with the sand retaining 'defences' and started to install sea front roads. Talking up to around WW2 era sortve time. Who remembers the active pier, then the Golden Goose?
