Had to load up some bales with the 706 gas and haul them about 30 miles with the old 7.3IDI with factory turbo. I ended up hauling 30 bales total. I went over the scale at the elevator on the last load just to see what the gross combined weight was(which was 27,500)

    I'm rebuilding two of these where the bottom jamb/gland nut came off inside the cylinder. If the right torque is used in reassembly will that prevent that in the future or can I use some blue loc-tite? Also do you know if theres anywhere that sells just that gland nut? My threads are F-ed

    How did you know it was the head gasket and not a leaking jug? I have a DT 466 that got antifreeze in the oil and I haven’t opened it up yet so I would have better idea what I am up against before I start tearing it down 😀🇨🇦

      all of the engines in the same series as the d282 have dry sleeves, so there aren't any jugs to leak.

    • @tysprojects2571
      @tysprojects2571 3 роки тому

      I would think so. You might be able to hook a pressure gauge to a little pipe plug and check the hydraulic pressure for your PTO clutch. If might be a hydraulic flow issue, or it could be the PTO clutch is out.

      @@tysprojects2571 funny story I've been working on this pto what feels like forever I purchased the clutches and was gonna do it myself about a month ago once I got the pto off I could tell it was definitely not the clutches that caused the problem it got hot for some reason or a another so I took it to the local deal and paid for all the seals o rings Teflon seals the whole works to be done because I just felt more comfortable having them do it because I don't have a truly clean shop to work in myself so I got it back and have the pressure gage I got it reinstalled but I currently have the block screwed all the way in fluid warm and can only seem to get a max of 140 psi and according to the mechanic I should be between 180 and 200 on my 706 so I'm currently baffled I also did a full hydrant fluid change when I did this as well over filled about 3 gallons to make sure everything was lubed I did try my theory just now and it wouldn't come out the top so idk back to the drawing board. Sorry this was a lengthy reply

  • @jimnaden5594

    @Ty's Projects the cup at the bottom of the spring is upside down. What that effects is the startup pressure that should be 40-45 psi with the lever raised to the first sign of resistance. Full apply pressure should be 235 psi with the engine at the PTO RPM setting. That pressure should not drop off more than 40 psi from operating speed to idle. I would recommend turning that cup over. Also, it is possible to just remove the nut from the top and drop the spool out the bottom. That leaves the spring, cup and shims trapped in place.
