The purpose of this LIFE project is to provide a discussion space for people to share and learn about experiences of managing the presence of large carnivores. This includes various approaches across Europe, and aims to highlight the associated social, economic and ecological challenges. Topics include monitoring, conflict mitigation, damage prevention, security concerns, long-term effects on agriculture and hunting, management practices, as well as assisted economic opportunities.

WWF Insider: Bären in Deutschland und Europa - Chancen & Herausforderungen
Zu Gast sind Wildbiologe Felix Knauer, der schon mit Bären im Trentino (Italien) gearbeitet hat, unsere WWF-Bärenexpertin Sybille Klenzendorf, sowie unser Wildtierexperte für Deutschland Moritz Klose.
Aktuell macht ein tragischer Fall aus Italien, genauer im Trentino, Schlagzeilen, denn dort wurde ein Jogger von einem Bären getötet. Wie es zu diesem Vorfall kommen konnte und was der Vorfall für mögliche Bären in Deutschland bedeutet , wollen wir diskutieren.
Denn auch in Deutschland gibt es immer mal wieder Sichtungsmeldungen von Bären: Erst letzte Woche wurde ein Bär im Landkreis Rosenheim gesichtet, der drei Schafe gerissen hat.
Unsere Expert:innen stellen sich der Frage, ob Bären, trotz möglicher Herausforderungen, in Deutschland eine Zukunft haben und teilen ihre Erfahrungen und ihr Wissen aufgrund ihrer langjährigen Arbeit mit den Tieren.
