    "But" is intriguing because it implies conflict. The "so" is resolution. Like "I was in my way home but found every route blocked. So my neighbor caught me hopping her fence to get home!" All stories involve conflict and resolution. Describing without conflict is simply relating information, rather than story telling. Source: unemployed literature graduate 😂

    This is so fascinating. I noticed that my feeds been pushing me a lot of lower view-count channels (1.2k is a lot but I noticed some significantly smaller) and I gain so much more from these! With AI and corporations, these feel so much more REAL and I sense theres gonna be an increase in demand since the algorithm is pushing these. Ive wanted to become a content creator for 12 years but only have something worth saying now. I hope you blow up exactly as large as you are comfortable with.

    That's a good internal debate for me. What I'm trying very hard to do is break the pattern and turn my "creations" valuable to others so it also serve as a content/services/products. Sometimes its impossible tho. I feel like once you break through and get a good amount of audience, you can get always with doing more "creations" than content because people already like you not matter what. Doing that way, we accept that our business will take longer to get going but once it does - it explodes.

      Do you think it is more of a harmony then a balance. It is waves of one and then the other sometimes 70/30 sometimes 50/50 sometimes 20/80 the other way...

    • @wards_world
      @wards_world Місяць тому

      hmmm, depends how you define balance, i suppose. i like to think of balance as a moving thing, kind of a harmony in the way you described it. it definitely goes in waves, a fluid movement between content and creation. for me the creation is more fun and exciting, but the content feels more like work. but you kind of need both in order to give the full picture of what you’re making/doing is what i’ve realized

  • @LewisWirth

    I think it’s good actually. With some things dozens of people have had to tell me approximately the same thing for there to finally be a person that advices me to do exactly the same thing but that contrary to everyone before him comes up with original arguments that work with the scruples I had before. I think seeing it as people just wanting someone to listen to them is not optimal. I see it more as looking for someone to give a unique argument. Because most people have mainstream ideas mainstream political views mainstream arguments and mindsets thus you will hear the same arguments over and over again and already have a counter to most. But the moment you get something novel is an opportunity to learn something and I think that that’s essential. It’s clear to me that you’ve taken enough thought in what I told you earlier and it seems like you worked out pretty well how to align what you’re doing with your goals.

  • @LewisWirth
    @LewisWirth 2 місяці тому

    At this point I feel like this uploading a video once a day is kind of becoming bs advice, you’re wasting time on slop ideas and the fact you say that you get “unlimited ideas” from some “Ai” language model that’s likely 98% slop I’ve tried repeatedly to find more interesting ideas with a number of language models and they all give generic meaningless answers stuff that everyone and their grandma already makes. I think you should stop making a video a day and instead should put more time into some more valuable video ideas. This high volume daily videos must have thought you some basic skills but I presume you’ve long flatlined in the obtaining of new skills and I’d advise you instead aim to make something really good and insightful, I’ve come across a hand full of channels that have lots of videos but really no reason or authority on any of these subjects and this just kind of blabber the human equivalent of Ai slop we don’t need more of that. Sorry if I’m coming across a bit blunt but I hope you genuinely got something from that. My goal is making the best videos I can on topics that I’ve been gathering for years that I didn’t see anyone make videos on saving to afford the big trip to do it myself and there’s still a long road to go

    • @wards_world
      @wards_world 2 місяці тому

      Hey Lewis, thanks for stopping by. I think you may have misunderstood the point of this video - it wasn't about AI idea generation (although those prompts listed out on that tweet have helped me out, personally.) This video was meant to motivate beginner creators (like yourself) to keep making things even if you're getting little love on them. Because it's a long, slow game and can be really discouraging when you spend hours on something for it to get minimal views/engagement. I'm sure you've been there yourself. To your point about stopping daily videos, tbh it's something I've talked about in a few videos now, and i agree with you here - if i took more time to make each video, the quality would increase significantly. But my goal of doing this year of daily videos is less about overall channel growth, and more about motivating anyone who watches to show up every day for their own goals in their own lives. That's what this is about. The journey of consistent effort. If I get some growth, sure I'll take it. But showing up every day for a year on thing is something that i think people can get real value out of. A bonus added benefit I didn't know would happen is that daily videos has allowed me iterate extremely quickly on what I want my brand to be about by forcing me to think about it every single day. now let's get to "the human equivalent of Ai slop" - this made me lol. it's my new favorite paradox. and yea, it was a bit blunt. but hey at least it was genuine... i too hope you genuinely got something out of this reply. thanks for taking time out of your day to comment. i don't suspect i will see you back here given you didn't love this video, so i wish you the best in your youtube career 👍

    • @LewisWirth

      @@wards_world hahaha the Dutch are notoriously blunt so I put that disclaimer. I’d say I agree with most of what you said here. I was more talking about the general theme of your channel over the years I’ve become increasingly strong of the opinion that with the Information age in which we live we have an abundance of information such an over abundance that we went from the problem of lack of information to information overload where you’d have to sort trough the slop lies and misconceptions. I watched another video today where the guy tried to explain how to talk to girls in basic terms and the first thing he said is first you basically need to unlearn all the bullshit you’ve been thought by both former mainstream society and the manosphere. His later points could’ve been better but I see this as very true today. Your emphasis on motivating people to be consistent is great in theory but I feel like the daily videos have lost their meaning here. I feel like it’s becoming an excuse to neglect quality and rethinking your thoughts. I’d recommend you to instead make a video about the process of some bigger project showing the days as progress. I used to love the videos of that Scottish guy Tim Boyd or something that would try to learn a skill and recorded how much time it took him. He showed his consistency and the passage of time in a more value dense video. You could even make a video about how you’re planning out making another bigger project video where you take more time to reflect on your words rewrite them and so forth. Anyway it’s nice to see others trying to improve their situation we all need a bit of that certainly with the bad place where our world is today.

      @@wards_world though I might add contrary to that, I may put too much time into some of my projects, part of that is how long I’ve worked up to materializing them and them being much more costly in both time and money

      @@wards_world hey we all have different goals I like what you’re doing and I’ll say I find it motivating but also a lot more genuine then many “gurus” out there. You’re doing good work. And in the end of course this is your decision. Your confidence among some other things show that you’ve given it enough thought. I’m still critical of language models, I always end up being frustrated with it giving generic answers that aren’t helpful to what I’m looking/ asking for.

    I think the challenge is less dramatic and more of a day to day thing. Most creatives I know need to have a day job in addition to selling work from their art practice. In order to make the work in the first place, one has to say no to seemingly more relaxing and fun things like watching netflix, playing videos games, watching sports and my bad habit -watching too much youtube :) Everything outside of your day job time is potential competition for spending time on creative projects. I'm not suggesting that you only do art and the day job, but you should mindfully choose what you spend your "free time" on. I've met a lot of talented people with potential let years slip by without doing much creative work because they kept waiting for more ideal circumstances. That day might never come. You have to show up for the creative work now.

    • @wards_world
      @wards_world Місяць тому

      yea it’s a tough thing to balance. i have a day job myself, i like to think of it as my “scholarship” to pursue creative work. because what you said is true, in theory you want to spend as much time outside of working doing the creative stuff, but you also have to make time to live life, and i think that part can be a slippery slope for sure. something im trying to figure out the right balance of myself tbh. i will say though, the “are you willing to die on the treadmill” mentality keeps me coming back on those days when im tired and feeling low on motivation. thanks for watching and commenting :) and happy creating to you scoodler 🎨

    GJ brother,. I, digging your videos. Id love to do a live stream chat w you as a new channel builder. I ran a channel up during Covid as a daytrader, and have recently started to come back to video creation. I'm doing faceless channels as well as this one, a gaming channel and my original channel. Hit me up, should be fun.

    Great vid Ryan! I like to think of it as the power of showing up. We are all capable of showing up everyday in our own ways, but I don't think many people do. Showing up doesn't require extra skills, talents, knowledge etc. but it's the difference between the athlete who trains everyday and the athlete to takes the day off. It's easy to rise to the occasion in a single moment. It's hard to show up everyday to ensure that moment happens.

    I think you should try to form a story out of every vlog with a beginning, middle, and ending. Even if you have to go on a grocery run or do laundry try to create a plot or include a message around it that you can share during the process. I call it the Casey Neistat formula from his daily vlogging days which is fitting since you’re also in New York 😂. You can even try to plan out what to film each day early in the week based off of what your schedule will be like for each day. Then block out time for filming and editing. For short form content, you can probably film those on a “batch day” and just change your outfit after every few videos you shoot. I’ve seen some creators film 30 days worth of content in one day including a mixture of videos from head talking style to b-roll for montages. Then edit a couple of them every few days. Plus since you’re vlogging everyday, you can also reuse clips from some of your favorite videos to save time. Hopefully these help and congrats on the big move!! You’re going to be able to create so much great content out there! 🌆🥳

    • @wards_world
      @wards_world 2 місяці тому

      yes i agree on the vlogs, they’re both fun and a challenge. building out a little command center full of ideas i can fall back on if needed too. definitely agree on the short form, it’s not my primary focus rn, but i think batch filming/editing these will eventually be the move.
