Can't believe we got an R... 2017 Shelby GT350R VOODOO Engine Rumble
Thanks for all the vids on the V2, they have helped me a ton. I contacted OBDStar about the first time 600mi reset and they said it doesn't handle that one yet. Did you happen to do the 600mi reset with a dealer?
Did you contact Motomillion to confirm as well? We did go to the dealer for the first oil change reset. I've heard others say they have reset the first one but have no confirmation.
Also were so glad the videos have helped. Have a couple more coming soon.
@@nwtrackaddictsthanks for the suggestion, just submitted the question through their support form.
It's not necessarily different on V2 vs V4. It's rather how it's delivered and set from your dealer. If you understand how an excenter works, then you know that you have 4 positions to adjust the chain. Actually it's only 2, because the other 2 would require a different chain length. The interesting part on that is that you can vary the geometry of your bike with the excenter position. So if it's different between V2 and V4 or not depends on you.
Thanks for the information.
Looks great 👍🏻
Thank you!! Appreciate it.
bike looks amzaing !!
Thank you! Much appreciated!
You did a great job, thanks for the inspiration! I'm going to do the same on my Streetfighter V2.
Thank you, glad it helped.
Thank you, glad it helped.
Will you put on the winglets as well?
Not on the V2. We have the OEM Carbon ones on the V4S Streetfighter.
Do you ever have to add more, or is it pretty much always 3.5 quarts?
Added a tinny bit more. I usually warm it up and let it sit a couple times to make sure the level is good.
Thanks for the reply. Your video helped me finish my first. The foil trick was a game changer. Thanks again!!
@mholme5 right on, glad it helped. Check out the chain adjustment video as well. These chains are hardly ever adjusted right from the dealership.
Will you take it to the dealer to turn off the service light or do you turn it off yourself?
We purchased the Obdstar iscan diagnostic tool which can clear any service lights and set the dates.
I'll be putting together a video on the unit soon.
Is it gonna work for panigale v2 as well? I remember reading somewhere that panigale v2's battery doesn't have enough juice or something like that to power heated grips
Yes, will work with no issues. The bikes are prepped for the oem kit. The install will vary but the instructions cover a whole range of models.
What mirrors are those?
Those are the Rizoma Stealth Mirrors
Great video. I am new to racing my own 21 GT Performance pack car. I full track day at Ridge, Watch your line is like listening to Matt, the Chief instructor.. Great job. I will be there at the end of the month 2 day event. Keep the videos going please. Love that car.
Will they actually protect you in the event of a fall?
Thanks for the question. Yes they will work great at protecting the major components. Engine, frame etc. For increased protection there are stunt cages but we setup the bikes for track riding.
Where are the black radiator side panels from? looks epic, want it on mine!
We wrapped them with 3M flat black wrap.
@@nwtrackaddicts nice - makes the bike look so much better.
Definitely. The side cover wrap and Throttle Spacers are 2 of the cheapest and best mods to do on the Streetfighters.
I'll see if I have any footage of wrapping the sides to make a video.
@@nwtrackaddicts Yeah did the spacers the week after it arrived. Completely changes the bike - definitely the best bang for buck mod!
excellent video i am following it step by step i didnt understand that part at 9:12 if possible can u explain
Thank you, I believe it's referring to once you take the bolts out you will need to put the spacer from the diagram behind that part.
@@nwtrackaddicts got it those bolts are two ways was confusing me hey i finally found a flaw in an otherwise perfect video 😀 a picture of that bolt would have been perfect just kidding i am going to refer to your video on my channel
Glad it was helpful, definitely challenging to get everything documented in the process lol.
Oh.. so you need to visit dealership to activate this function?
Yes, that is correct. They can do it pretty quick.
You can also use JPDiag to activate the heated grips.
I have a 21 Diavel 1260s. And I found someone local in the Ducati club. They had the OBDstar computer. It costs around $340. But it can do basically everything the dealer computer can do. Like program keys too. Anyways. We hooked it up. And went into the proper module and boom. Activate heated grips. Took 10 seconds maybe. A dealer will charge one hour labor minimum to activate it. Unless you have some good relationship with them
@@LOLewie thanks for the heads up. We have a couple in our group that bought them so we just purchased one as well. We will be doing a video on how to setup and use on the bikes. Such a great product that will save countless trips to the dealer.
where did u get the oem service manual??
It's the installation manual for the Ducati Heated Grips. There is a barcode on the paperwork with the package that takes you to the online manual. You can then download. You can also find the manual online by doing a search for the part number as well.
Thanks for the explanation and video! What is the paddock stand you have for the back?
That's the pit bull large hub stand. Works on both the V4 and V2 along with all the large hub models. Highly recommend the Pit bull stands. Been using them on the stack for 15 plus years.
@@nwtrackaddicts Thanks! Let's see if I can get my hands on one in Europe.
The measurement is not on the plastic guard but the swing arm itself correct? Seems bang on when against the swing arm.
Correct, it's against the swing arm. If you look under there is an area that does not have the plastic gaurd. I then verify the measurement on the side stand
@@nwtrackaddicts great vid btw. No BS and right into it 🤙
The measurement should be done with the motorcycle on its side stand.
That’s how I do my measurement as well.
didn't mention installing the drain bolt, but the oil stayed in. 14 Nm?
I believe we torqued to 14 Nm but always check again the service manual.
Leaving it to drain over night is a new one lol what do you think is going to happen if a little oil is left. You all don’t listen to this guy, it’s going to take you 3 business days to change an oil.
This was some great driving!
Thank you, very much appreciate the props.
Drain plug link or part number to buy it please thanks
Here is the part. I ordered it from MotoD. It's manufactured by RaceBolt. Racebolt Stainless Race Drilled Magnetic Drain Bolt M14x1.5x12 RB-SSSUMP1412MR
Thanks for this video, what size spanner for V2
Thanks, hopefully the video is helpful. It's the same spanner size is the V4 thankfully. I'm using the CORSE DYNAMICS "NON-SLIP" ECCENTRIC DUCATI CHAIN TOOL: LARGE. Purchased from motowheels.
@@nwtrackaddicts Any idea what size
They just list it as Ducati Large hub, 2006+
Over night without oil equals condensation. Not smart
Appreciate the comment.
Condensation will burn off in a few minutes of run time. Overthinking
What’s the deal with the safety wire? Prevents them coming loose?
That's correct, prevents critical items from coming loose. Not really necessary when riding on the street but we safety wire a good amount of items for track riding.
Did you run the engine, then let it sit before rechecking the oil level or did you check the oil level from cold?
Yes, once oil filled, ran engine till operating temperature was good, (about 15 minutes at 70 degrees ambient temp). Run longer or shorter depending on ambient Temps, typically 15 minutes is sufficient. Then let it sit for an hour to make sure. If additional oil is needed add a small amount then repeat the run/let sit process until at the right level. It's a bit overkill but this ensures the level is good.
Nice work mate! 8 Nm for the oil filter plug isn’t much. On the v2 panigale its’s 13 Nm IIRC
Thank you, appreciate it. Our local dealer spec's 8 nm for the oil filter cover bolts on both the V2 Panigale and Streetfighter.
Yeah it's deff 8nm
Great video! Thank you. Are the bolts that you used to pull off the oil filter cover them M8 - 1.25 X 50mm bolts then? Thanks for verifying.
Thank you, hope it's helpful. Use (2) M8x1.25 2" machine bolts for the V2, (3) bolts on the V4.
50mm or 2" work great, extra length helps with the leverage pulling it off.
How are you resetting the oil service light?
For the service reset I take it to the dealership and pay for the reset.
@@nwtrackaddicts melcodiag is free, and about $25 for a OBD2 dongle and adapter cable. Then you can clear engine codes too (after you fix whatever the code was for). 👍
@a9entjones thank you for the information.
Great video. Thanks. I think overnight is overkill. But I understand. It’s your bike
Definitely overkill but we had the time.
Nice. That's a lot of work but I guess it's worth it.
V2 streetfighter swingarm is 16mm longer than the v2 panigale
Thank you, I was not aware of the difference. I'll check the V4 Streetfighter vs Panigale.
25nm is the torque specs
Right on. Thank you.
@@nwtrackaddictshi, there has been a service bulletin lowering the torque to 20Nm on the v4 I think. I don’t think that is the case for the v2s
@aas061 thanks for the heads up. Much appreciated!
Love this bike!!!!
It's a phenomenal track and street bike. Always ready to go no matter what's asked of it.
Where did you buy the adjustment tool for the v2 streetfighter? Is it 58mm or 61mm?
Sorry for the delay, we just got back from Moab. Here is the tool I use. CORSE DYNAMICS "Non-Slip" Eccentric Ducati Chain Tool: Large (SH-1098SW - TOOLS-3.1)
This is awesome 👏
Thank you, hope it was helpful.
I've had r&g sliders on every bike I've owned but this install is very complex, the hardest I've ever seen...! Props to you guys for the vid, but it's made me think twice...😮
@jaymarshall116 I agree, we have them on the V4, BMW and Honda as well and this is by far the most complex installation I've come across. Take it step by step and take a break once you get frustrated and it goes smoothly. Let me know if you have any questions.
@nwtrackaddicts3874 well I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and do it because otherwise I'll end up worrying about it and there's no quicker way to drop a bike than that... I pick mine up in 3 weeks time, I'm so excited, such an awesome looking bike. Have you done anything about the hot seat, noticed the warmth on the test ride but I don't know if its just something you get used to or buy the heatshield kit. The only other thing I'd do is get the throttle spacers, they seem to be worth it. What mods have you done and what would like to do next...?
@jaymarshall116 I'd definitely recommend adding them. We've done the following to prepare for the track day season. Front axle sliders, bar ends, frame sliders, engine cover/sliders, front and side tank pads, windscreen, caliper spacers to remove reflector, nrc tail eliminator, ducati solo tail, removal of passenger pegs. Also basic suspension setup. Your going to love the bike!!
Do you know the torque spec
I was not able to locate a spec in the V2 so I used the V4 spec which is 20 Newton meters. This is my choice so I recommend everyone do there own research.
This is great thanks for the video! How is that Rosso 4 vs the rosso corsa 2?
Glad the video was useful. The Corsa 2 have been great so far between the street and track. 8 track days at 20-40 minutes per session and they have provided good grip. I probably have 4 more track days before the rear sides are past the wear bars. The center still has 80 percent left. The Rosso 4 seams to have decent grip, not as much as the corsa 2 but definitely a good mix between the street and track. Feedback from both have been very good and would recommend either one depending on what type of riding. Once they wear down on the both bikes I'll probably put sp's on both for the extra grip.
That is beautiful! Sounds awesome
Thank you.
Awesome!! I’m all over the place! Haha That was one of the best track days last year!!!
We had such a blast that day with everyone!!
I bought the staggered set my my R model. The issue is lug nuts, you almost need two lengths, long for front, shorter for the back. What did you use? I bought ZL1 addons titanium lugs, they work well, but disappear on the front, stick out on the back, and just look odd in my opinion. Thanks.
Hi Dan, I had the same issue with our car. I ended up selling the project 6 R wheels due to the minimal clearance they have around the calipers. Very easy to scratch both the calipers and the insides of the wheels with debris getting caught. I purchased a set of signature track series wheels that way less than 2 lb heavier than the carbon wheels. I went with 19 x 11 same offset all the way around and run spacers up front. 305 RE71R's. That allows me to rotate all four for better wear. I also purchased titanium lug nuts from them that fit well. I also changed the rear to ARP longer studs for increased strength. Glad to help if you have any questions.

I’ve seen other R’s that don’t have the studs sticking out. How did they do it. I actually ordered them for my Gt350R.
With the OEM carbon wheels the studs will not stick out due to the thickness of the front wheel hubs. Most aftermarket wheels will not have the same front thickness in which the studs will stick out. I have sold these Project 6GR wheels that are in the video and run fully forged Signiture wheels with titanium lug nuts. I have also changed out the rear studs to longer ARP studs.
