Doctor who scarf crochet tutorial - tassels
In this video I show you how to do the tassels when crocheting the famous Doctor Who scarf.
Hope it is useful for you!
This video is just to see the tassels, I have written a pdf document with all the instructions on how to crochet this scarf, it is downloadable for free on my account ravelry:
www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/doctor-who-scarf-3
Finding knitting instructions is easy, in the pdf document I explained how to translate them into crochet and more ;)
Previous video is about colour change, go check it out!

I'm very thankful that you put a pattern on Ravelry. I'm not going to follow it per se, but it has been very helpful to figure out type of stitch and stitch counts. I really wasn't sure what to do about those. Thanks for turning it into a crochet pattern! And it's always nice to have a video of colour changes because I'm hopeless at them. We'll see how it goes.
I'm so happy that it's useful! let me know how it goes😊
Update: Nowhere near finished, but I've done four colour changes so far and I find it very easy now. And it looks very good. Took a few times watching the video, but once I understood, it was really easy. It's honestly a great tutorial for beginners, even if you're not doing the scarf.
Thank you so much! I'm so happy it helped you! It's really easy indeed once you get it 😄🥰
Can you cut off the other color then?
sure! when you're done using it you can cut it off
This worked out great! Thanks so much, also on behalf of my husband 😅
thank you both! ❤️
Thanks!
I made a skinny crocheted Season 12 scarf (started at a GenCon craft workshop), but like how you appear to have worked out crochet conversions for the full-width, full-length Season 12 scarf. Good to see that you found close-enough colors all from a single yarn company's range, too. I've been using Knit Picks Brava to crochet a baby-blanket version of the Doctor Who scarf, and the only color I'm not entirely happy with is the gold. (The Caution colorway in the Brava solids is too bright for a proper gold; there's a better gold in Knit Picks Brava Tweed, but that wasn't available until at least a year after I started the baby blanket.)
I was lucky with the colours, I wanted them to be the most similar, but I think mine is an obsession 😂 A brighter gold isn't much of a deal, anyway I have the information about the yarn I used in the PDF file you can download for free in my Ravelry shop, the link is in the description 😄
Thank you for this videos!!
Is that an extended single crochet? Never thought that would work changing colours! That looks great by the way
Sure, that's the name! 😜 the only difference is the start of the next round I think...
Thank you! I'm trying to make this scarf for my boyfriend and I've never changed colours before.
it's not difficult, but maybe you might want to make some tries before starting the scarf 😊
