Glad the hiatus is over .. love this movie not seen it in ages .. might introduce the kids to it. On the punk debate ... for me it's an attitude - it's about liking what you like regardless of anything or anyone else. It's about calling out bullshit and not putting up with it regardless of if it is at home, at work or out in society, not letting anyone tell you what you should be or should do. It has never been about the music or the clothes you wear - do you. Looking forward to the see what Chris makes of the Abyss. Josh , anyone mentioned you look a bit like Robert Eggers?

I didn´t watch any analysis of videodrome talking about ideology, which I think is at the core of the film. Videodrome was created by Brian Oblivium, a television prophet, intending to make videodrome audience hallucinate tv programs as reality (visions) and ultimately developing a new organ/tumor into their brain. Barry Convex, on the other hand, wants to use Videodrome politically to scrap videodrome's degenerate audience, he brainwashes Max debilitated mind into killing his partners and then to kill Bianca Oblivium, but she manages to reprogram Max into killing Convex and at last making Max kills himself in the promise he will be reborn in a new flesh. Curiously Bianca Oblivium continues her father's mission in a church building which functions like a doss-house where destitutes receive not food or beds but television sets to watch. The film is clearly about the war of competing institutions fighting for dominance of people's minds.

Fantastic review. This film for me was an instant favourite of mine that I rewatched several times within a year after my first viewing. I wanted to show it to all my friends and family and share the beautiful fantastical world that PTA creates in this film.

Hardware is awesome, makes for a great double feature with 1994's Death Machine with Brad Dourif. And yeah, i think 2000AD sued and won. The exact story was in an issue from 10 years earlier.

I couldn't find anywhere to watch this but I vaguely remember it from back when it was released think it gave me 2000AD ABC Warrior vibes .. needs a Rob Zombie remake. Been looking to check out Lost Highway for a while now, got an excuse to get it done.

Mimic was pretty good haven't seen in in years though ... Hardware I think I've seen but gonna have to try and find it. I think I know why Clay struggles with Miike movies - its cause he's watching them on 1.5x speed.

Anyone ever get around to watching 'Joe' with Pete Boyle? I watched that cause of the Tarantino book. Crazy movie... and the ending delivers from what I remember. I think I watched it on Tubi but I don't know if it's still there.

Ive had The Warriors on my watchlist for a while now. Funny thing is, I just watched The Driver, and was wondering if I should start a dive into Walter Hill's filmography, so perhaps ill watch The Warriors soon.

I just re-watched True Detective season 1 and finished my first watch of season 3 this week ... First season is a classic Third was good really well acted and was cool to see Stephen Dorff but the ending while a good idea left me really disappointed especially after all the references to season 1. Did you like American Sniper? Dennis Hopper, Brendan Gleeson and Tim Roth for character actors.

I might check this one out one day. I used to be really into Scrubs back in the day. Something wild definitely looks interesting... I'll try and remember to add it to the watchlist. Josh you should definitely watch Sound Of Freedom. People are saying its "political" or a "Christian movie"... It isn't that at all. It's just an incredible true story. Just because Jim Caviezel leans on the right, and believes in Jesus, doesn't mean the movie does . Plus most celebrities anyways are left-wingers, and no one cares about that. So definitely check it out if you get a chance!
