Same Peters | The Future of Rugby and Player Safety
"We should go back to a much longer mandatory stand-down for concussion, recognise the risks and ensure enough people are educated around it that we reduce the risk of somebody dying on the pitch...I genuinely believe that the resistance to this conversation is diminishing and will continue to diminish although it's absolutely still there." Sam Peters

Sam Peters | Rugby Player Safety at School Level
15 годин тому
"The conversation in educational establishments is much more advanced than it is at the professional level because schools don't have a choice when it comes to protecting and looking after their people, that is absolutely what they're there for. In the world of professional sport there's almost a sense that they're outside the law in terms of employee rights." Sam Peters Listen to the full podc...

"Now we're seeing things like brain scans being offered to professional players, much more openness. There's definitely a discussion about whether those brain scans are the right types of brain scans but the conversations are happening about long term risks which were just flatly denied for a long time." Sam Peters | Concussion, Bloodgate and the Role of Medical Staff
Переглядів 1816 годин тому
"I was fascinated with the idea of cheating and how people were prepared to sacrifice their morals to win at all costs...the Bloodgate case was absolutely a defining moment for me in me thinking this could happen. Could doctors make poor decisions through lack of education or knowledge but commit acts that were absolutely going against their oath to do no harm?" Sam Peters Listen to the full po...

Sam Peters | Reducing Concussion Risk in Sport

"The RFU's own datain England has recently shown that still, injuries in training, concussions in training are absolutely through the roof. I cannot understand how slow rugby union has been to pick up on this fact that they're still damaging their players during the week." Evgeny Shadchnev | From Founder CEO to Leadership Coach

"What inspired me to train as a coach was my own experience of working with Founder coaches, I worked with 5 CEO coaches over the years and the first one, his name is Jerry Colonna, he had an incredible impact on me...it was a turning point in myself as a leader and as a person." Evgeny Shadchnev | What Should a Founder CEO Do After Stepping Down?
Переглядів 1021 день тому
"My advice is stop, slow down, rest, recover and instead of jumping into the most obvious next step, talk to plenty of people, doing plenty of things who were Founder CEOs once in the past and then make a choice about what you want to do next." "7 is a good number to aim for, definitely not 15 or 20, you can't have 20 direct reports and have any kind of meaningful connection with each of them. At the same time if there are only 2 people reporting into the CEO it's also a very unusual structure because it means that each of them is running a huge chunk of the organisation." "The problem here is not just the personal well being of the CEO suffers. Unlike many other jobs, how the leader feels about what they're doing has a great amount of influence on the rest of the business and on their effectiveness. To put it simply, I don't think anyone can have a happy team with an unhappy leader." Evgeny Shadchnev Listen to the full podcast here: steeringpoint.ie/podcast/evge...

Guy Kawasaki - Making the Right Decision Vs Making the Decision Right
I completely disagree with the brain not being able to multitask. The brain chunks information in order to perform more complex tasks. Take driving a car. There are several things to do at once initially making it seems impossible. The brain assimilates them one by one and chunks them into one task e.g. driving. Exactly the same with learning music etc. Parts are permanently etched into the subconscious allowing one whole smooth execution.
