Chilli is just a bit scared. My first dachshund, Gunther, cried for the entire 2 hour ride home, he was 8 weeks and a few days. But, once Gunther realized, I was 'safe' he did the do-nut thing, and was fast a sleep on my chest, and then I feel asleep as well. The next morning Gunther was all tail wags and nose licking. Gunther and I shared life for almost 19 years. He was a great Dachshund.

I have a Dachshund mix and she is the absolute best friend I've ever had. I Love your puppy he is so cute.

Chilli is adorable but I think he's not a mini. I think he's probably a "tweenie"... between a mini and a standard dachsie. He is so precious and sweet!

Dachshunds do require gentle handling with their backs. I would be scared to have a puppy near small children but these seem to be very well behaved. Live the mottled look.
