In this video, I introduce and describe my new (and free!) textbook: How2statsbook (online). The free version of the textbook is a series of downloadable PDF chapters with many embedded links to videos to help understand the content of the chapters. V5.18 - Spearman Correlation Confidence Intervals SPSS
Переглядів 4,5 тис.5 років тому
From Chapter 5 of my free textbook: www.how2statsbook.com In this video, I demonstrate how to calculate confidence intervals for Spearman correlations. I do this through a syntax file I created that uses information from Bonett and Wright (2000). You can download the syntax file here: tinyurl.com/y4e7dtvn Bonett, D. G., & Wright, T. A. (2000). Sample size requirements for estimating Pearson, Ke...

Thanks
Thank you very much for the demo. Could you please tell us how would we interpret a factor score of lets say -1.27432 (Gsm for the 2nd case in your demo) of a person? What would we mean by the factor score for an individual?
How to calculate one way anova if under heads subheads made calculation of head including subheads for anova test
If you could show us a bit of an example, it would be much nicer rather than explaining the idea of the formulas.
Thank you sir
I cannot run the program, i keep getting an error message saying: >Error # 1. Command name: =SOBEL >The first word in the line is not recognized as an SPSS Statistics command. >Execution of this command stops.
I can catch this model easily because your presentation is smart to understand
Thank you very much Mr. Gignac for your detailed explanations. At the end of the video, you are referring to recommendations you made in the case the assumption of multi-samples sphericity is violated AND the sample sizes are unequal. Can you please confirm you were referring to this particular video : "V9.8 - 2x2 Factorial ANOVA - Dealing with Unequal Variance and Sample Sizes"? Yours sincerely.
Your videos have helped me over the past 5 years in my program, thank you for making them! I am now trying to complete a linear ridge regression in SPSS and see that there are NO videos on how to do this. Pleasseeee make one!
this is really simple and clear thank you!
OH MY!!!! You have truly helped me out! Thanks!
rally helpful, Thanks a lot
Thank you so much 😭
Hi, thank you for all the videos! Your channel and book have greatly helped my PhD journey. quick question: could you have gotten the same simple effects comparisons from SPSS if you had just selected the main effects under 'EM Means' to also output? Thanks!
Could not find the syntax file.
sir, how you made equal group
Hey how to edit the syntax if my idv is a categorical variable with three levels ( and not a dichotomous with two levels)
hello, is it meaningful to compare two different direction correlations in this way?
Thank you! Straightforward and concise explanation :)
how can i get LSD value from SPSS, plz
But what can be done when the data is normally distributed?
Before changing the size and the format ! Explain if we need to draw the scree plot what information I need ? I have an exam question which asking me to draw a scree plot by hand which numbers should I choose ? I have 9 variables and the output I have is standard deviation proportion of variance and cumulative proportion ? No one explain in details that why most people hate statistics because before using these programs we have to know how to do this by hand and understand it !!! Statistic not for me
Awesome
Glad to see you're back to work on your text and videos. I thought you might have given up on continuing. Have appreciated your helpful guidance for many years.
great video. What happens if my spotlight analysis does not support my prediction or ANOVA results
Very good explanation
Is negative factor scores ok?
What does interaction of variables mean?
hi, thank you for the video. It was very informative. I have a question though: how should I plot the predicted probabilities if my independent variable is binary?
Where is the video of Nominal categorical covariates
Thanks alot, you are very good.
Hello. Thanks for the explanation. My question is what to do when the sum of squares and the degree of freedom in one of the three two-way interactions and the three-way interaction equal zero. Thank you!
thanks you
Hello! Based on the result, in what score range can we say that someone had a perception of high self-efficacy and low self-efficacy.
Thank you so much, it was helpful to use my question!
great!!!
thank you for the video! would it be statistically correct to run t-tests based on a priori hypotheses after conducting these follow up anovas? or would these 2x2 anovas essentially serve as a replacement for such t-tests?
How do you change the default number of decimal places in output, so that you don't need to go into every cell of every table to read your tables?
Thanks bro, it was exactly what I need it.
Hello, Can I please get the reference for this study? I didn't find it in Chapter 6 as well.
Can bootstrapping be used to control for a covariate - say gender of participants (which is very unbalanced 94 f and 62 m)? Or what else can be done to control for gender in a paired samples t test? Thank you.
somebody know how to get a r square value that is bootstrapped or accurate if the data is not normally distributed?
Hi dr. Todd!! First, I’m a big fan of you. So, i Would like to have the referency about it, because I loved this method.
hi, can you show how to increase decimal place in the syntax?
I've got my results of CI95_r_lb and CI95_r_ub to be nominal data, not scale data. Why could that happen? How could I get scale data for CI95_r_lb and CI95_r_ub?
What if you are trying to square a value in SPSS Syntax?
I finally found a useful explanation of statistics and its application!!! thank you!!!
Great video. How many items did you have on each of your measures? What do I do if my X variable has 5 items and the M has 10? Thanks in advance.
what if i have 3 extremes?
Hello sir, one quick question, how can i use these means in MANCOVA?
