THE PHOTO LAB MOVIE
At last, a copy of The Photo Lab Movie has been found and digitized! A 16mm black and white film produced by San Diego Union-Tribune Photographers Jerry Windle and John Price in the early 1970's it is full of inside jokes and really bad visual puns. It was mostly filmed at the original downtown 919 Second Ave, location of the two papers shortly before the move to Mission Valley. Here is the raw material that perhaps we can get some narration for or subtitles added to in the future. Thanks to Tony Doubek for coming up with the VHS tape that is the last known copy of the works.
Faces I recognize: Charlie Sick, Dan Tichonchuk, Roger Wrenn, Joe Holly, Barry Fitzsimmons, Jerry Rife, John Godwin, Phil McMahan, John Godwin, Larry Armstrong, Tony Doubek, John Price, Robin Maydeck (?), Thane McIntosh, Bob Ivins, Tim Wilson?, Rick McCarthy, Dennis Huls, Bob Redding and General Krulak. I don't recognize one of the two women portrayed.
Far from Hi-Definition, it's beauty is in the fact that it even exists.
