I'm part of a lineage tradition of shamanic healers. Recently, a Huichol prayer bowl made it's way into my possession through a very unlikely series of events, and I felt that it chose me. I have been looking into Huichol culture and traditions because I felt such a connection with the prayer bowl... From my perspective, the Huichol culture possesses everything I feel is missing from 21st century American culture. It's such a toxic wasteland here, and as an artist myself, it's a wretched environment to practice something that affirms our humanity the way art does, in just about every way. Not a day goes by when I don't keenly feel a bitter longing for what's missing, and discovering the Huichol people, such an endlessly rich and refined culture, a culture with a deeply ingrained shamanic healing tradition... I'm absolutely over the moon.

I knew Susana when her baby girl was still in diapers, and I have never forgotten her kindness and guidance for me. Huichols have much to offer humanity, how to live, but first it takes the cleansing of our own hearts, before we can get a fair and forgiving perspective. It is a common theme in human history that some take advantage of others, but we must gauge that as it crosses our own lives. I am half Mayan and half New Mexican...very little white blood I knew her and she was/is good God Bless

It's good when people help others as these english women, but I don't like when foregins go there to take advantage of our art and after ( when they know how they work), they sell our art paying them a shit.
