50° in a sleeping bag is perfect. 80°...he should have combined an air conditioner, lol. Guessing he could mitigate that by venting/opening windows?
Can anyone help me find furlove tourniquet. His Amazon Link doesn't work nor a goggle search.
Thoroughly enjoyed this - direct and logical.
I have had my Getaway Trailer for almost 5 years. Love it That rhino awning sucks. I have the 23zero and love it
The locals are huge dbags here. Don’t be surprised to find your car/ truck vandalized when you park and hike.
Loll I remember one time my freshman year of college me and a buddy wanted to spend the weekend at Big Sur but we hadn’t done any research except what I roughly checked the maps and saw dirt roads here. I was broke so looking for free campsites decided to take Ferguson nacimiento road around 11pm through a hell of a storm in my 2wd 2000 Kia sportage. Then pulled pitch up the dirt roads and driving on these ridge lines at night really didn’t seem so bad cause I couldn’t even see the drop off. It wasn’t until we went down the face of that cliff that I saw the ocean about 400 feet down in front of me. Tried to turn around in the manzanita and then spent all night gunning it up the hill to get out only to slide back down in the mud. After about half a tank and waiting until things dried up a bit in the morning we made it out by bouncing across the divots to get proper traction. The drive back along the ridge and up those steep cliffs will always stay in my memory.
It is called a jack leg.... it drills holes for support bolts in underground mines
Very well done.. Excellent job! I enjoy your humility, coupled with your expertise, very enjoyable to watch.. and learn........
Dumb question but how heavy do you need to be to use these? I weigh 130 (very short) and have one of these, but have never had to use it. Would I be able to use this thing safely?
This is an excellent video! I know all the steps to camping, but was wondering about some fun things to do while we're there when we aren't cooking or setting up. 3- 14 hour days is a lot of time to fill with a 5 year old but this has been great!
hummus is yummy 😋
Matilde Rapid
🤣😂
Do you think a stock Jeep Renegade (with Toyo all terrain tires) would be a able to handle the roads in the video?
To be honest, with really careful driving, maybe, but I wouldn’t do it alone because I would worry about getting hung up on something and stuck
I was out there back in the late 1980s we went as far as the windcaves. Pretty cool, but man you don't want to break down out there.....no way. And of course when out that way a stop at the Iron Door is a must.
So fun, the wind caves are still there, and so is the iron door!
Thanks I was trying to figure out what to buy
Thank you for sharing I went there like 22 years ago , magical beautiful place to enjoy thanks for your video inspire me to visit again
You found my playground. Been mining out there for 20yr. The old gal Tony at the Tunnel was still alive. Building before the postoffice was a gas station of sort back in the 30s. Lots of activity out there years back. Hand full of claim owners still mine the area. Not much Gold, but fun to camp and get some color. Glad you had fun and nice Jeep !!
Thanks friend! Such a neat place out there…I hadn’t heard about the post office/gas station, good stuff!
Great video Dr B! I’m gonna visit this spot soon as it cools off.
Went 2 months ago sadly all the gates are locked and the trail is not accessible it’s “private property” now. I accidentally got in cuz the gate was left open the. As we were leaving it was closed and got haggled by residents that have property on the road there
The Rangers told me that the roads are closed temporarily due to road damage and will be open sometime in the fall
I am just getting into the california state militia. we are getting into a lot of in field stabilizing medical, i never expect to get close let alone into a fire fight. but in all my years as a truck driver. seeing a number of accidents happen. even a surviver of a very bad head on. ( chp officer could mot believe there was no one dead). other guy was doing 100 mph. i have never run into much need of a med kit, let alone a TQ.. but in my life i have had a couple trips in a ambulance. guess lucky for me when i have been hurt medical is easy to get to. and yes i have many a time out in the back country. far from everything. never to be found if the worst happened.
Hopefully, you carry a tourniquet in the truck and never need to use it!
I have a RWD pathfinder, could i make these trails?
If you are with someone who can pull you out, then you could risk it, but having clearance and four-wheel-drive seems necessary to me, these roads are not maintained and are labeled Jeep trails by the park
@@DocWrangler ty, how long you say these trails are? Miles wise
Doc i came here to the toob to look for just this.. after watching 4 other vids i watched yours.. by far the best and exactly what I was looking for. Thank you sincerely.. I do however wish you had some non am i zon links as i do not patron them after what they did with the whole sum er of most lee peace full stuff. Miss spelled on porpoises to thro off the old al gore rythem and com mints disappearing blues.
Thanks, so happy to be helpful! Bad news is artificial intelligence can read this stuff better than even we can now good luck, figuring away around that one and let me know when you do!
Good information
Thanks friend!
Great video. We used to fish out there in the 80s.
Nice, such a unique area!
What was that dude in the bmw doing there???
They were out there trying to take some instagram pictures or something, I guess they didn’t know it was an off-road trail, lol
I like climbing rocks

Amazing video. Homie with the buz kill tho "Yup! that looks the same!"
😂🤣😂
Try to imagine what it was like being the first one to drive to this place back in 1979? I was driving a ford courier 2 wheel drive. No trail at all and that area near the edge was all grass and the Manzanita trees destroyed my paint job but I didn’t care. It was a miracle we made it out of there at all. I had that place to myself for about ten years. At some point the Forrest service brought a dozer up there to put a road in for people to be able to easily drive to this place. They even added some camp spots. I hope to get back up there one last time before I’m not able to drive any more. Thank you making this video so I can tell my family and friends this is the place I have been talking about all these years. Also , others need to see how you guys drove in and out of there without spinning your wheels, much appreciated to see that. Thank again
Thanks friend, such a nice post, would love to get up there with you. Truly a gem on our coast!
Nice footage
Thanks friend!!
I thought it was it when i got on that small road and we were high (edit I was in a ford f250 super duty lifted ) was the truck meant for it ?
no idea, but glad you got out there!
What road did you guys take?? spot looks awesome!
Unfortunately, this road is no longer passable due to mudslides, but it was a good one!
Wowww
awesome out there!
Yep, jeeps can indeed be scary little creatures.
Some days! 🤣😂
What’s that road called on minute 2:21
I think that’s “Old City Road” 👍🏼👍🏼
@@DocWrangler thanks
Have you heard about FR19 Fora Grup turkish tourniquet?
No, I’ll have to look into it!
Be careful and be safe. Many mysteries in the USA.
Many more to be explored!
@DocWrangler Seriously. Up to you. I respect you.
Wow 😍😍👏🏼
👍🏼👍🏼 thanks friend!
Awesome video! What containers are those on the roof and tire rack?
Those are “Husky” containers. I picked up at Home Depot, a lot of people use them because they stack well and don’t take up a lot of room. 👍🏼👍🏼
@DocWrangler I thought they was. Do you have them fastened down or just strap them down?
Great video Doc! That dog was born to be in water for sure. Looks like a great time and a beautiful spot. Been decades since I have been on the Colorado River. Need to get back someday! 🙌
Thanks friend, let me know when and I’ll be there!
Join us on our latest adventure to the Colorado River and learn a out the lakes that developed along the US-Mexico border when the river was dammed up in the 30’s!
I just stumbled across your chanel! Amazing content and views. What kind of headlights are those?
Thanks man! They are amazon specials…I looked to see if I could find them, and I can’t, but I’m sure they’re out there!

This is really uplifting footage🙏💧🌱 And the true meaning of getting grounded. Kicking off the shoes & feeling the connection with the earth's magnetic field.
@@ralsharp6013 💯 love getting these guys “grounded”! 👍🏼👍🏼
Kids built a small dam in creek in my area. Storms came and water was devirted and took out two hundred homes. Have fun guys...lol
🤣😂🤣
Smart so nice to see you teaching your son.

Or you move right to left repeatedly and slowly press the gas the reason I know is cause I work at a sand mining plant 😂
Good to know!
😊p
Too much air in the tires I can see from here.
Some days that is the case
That water helps alot to.
🤔
@DocWrangler wet beach sand is hard and compact, get a bucket and pour water in from on the tires and presto. People raised around the ocean do this all the time.
