That's very helpful, thank you.
your explanation on this was clear and simple to follow...thank you!!
Dam really interesting
Sorry for the ignorance; how does the compass instrument know where the wind is coming from?
the compass instrument does not know or show it, wind istruments do
Excellent! Clear and concise using visuals and explanations.❤
Cool. Just to mention. Always measure distance on the sides, latitude scale, and never the bottom or top. (Longitude)
A full upside down video. Your Awesome. NOT NOT NOT !!!!!
Hi hello Great video May I ask I am not getting any wind speeds showing Is this something that needed to turned on On the panel? The pointer is working fine But the the little cups underneath it as not spinning at all Kindest regards
Turn off the chart around so we may see it-thanks
Clear concise Weldone
Good video Thanks 😊
cheers mate so much help, love how you are doing it on the boat aswell
He's plotting 44° 42' .5N not 45°
Great for a real beginner. Explained beautifully. Thank you.
Dumb question: how did you get 56 minutes out of 7/8 of an hour? I get 52.5 minutes. Not sure how you got 56 minutes out of 7/8. Otherwise, great lesson. Thanks!
7 years from 2005 to 2012 and 8 minutes movement per year 7X8=56minutes
Doesn't the vacation oscillate? I am asking is wouldn't the movement be eastward some years and westward in others?
I have that same tri data instrument on my boat, I have just purchased st60 wind instrument and another speed instrument which has a timer on it, which was important to me cause I plan to race the boatm. Do you think I could run a seatalk jumper cable from the existing tri data instrument to my new speed instrument and be able to get the speed reading on both units??? I do not have seatalk hub. Would the existing tri data instrument be smart enough to transmit data???
Great if it wasnt upside down....
Thanks very very good you have one of the best teaching abilities I’ve come across, and a very soothing voice. I would love to see more
Smashing video!! Thanks for sharing!
Great a real clear instruction....Thanks
Very clear and helpful, thank you
Excellent video👍Thanks Dale Asher
Chart should't of been upside down. major downer. redo this video.
That's obviously a training chart you are using, as the coordinates you plotted are right in the middle of the Bay of Biscay in real life.
Thanks very good
Thankyou! Very clear and concise.
Dont get it-- why even bother with the 45 degrees N in the first place? I should just say 42.5 Degrees N from the jump .
Hi, how are you, hope Im picking up on your comment properly with this response? Latitudes and longitudes are expressed and plotted, in degrees, minutes and seconds and I think you may confusing the degrees and minutes from the example given to get 42.5 degrees. The Latitude given was 45º25´.50N so plotting a position at 42º and any number of minutes would put you in the region of 180 NM out of position as each degree of latitude is equal to 60NM. Hope this helps ?
Yes I have the degrees and mins confused - Thank you for deciphering my comment correctly.
@@sixfoursoul2538 you need to zoom in you can not see a thing
WTF - the chart is UPSIDE DOWN !!!!
Enjoyed that thank you.
hi which map are you plotting on, is it the mercator projection map or the gall Peters projection map or another kind of map? hope someone can answer that, thanks
Hey, it's an RYA training chart with mercator projection, hope that helps! Duncan
+Duncan Boycott thanks very much that's great
Duncan Thanks for the videos I am currently doing a RYA navigational coerce And have found your videos very, very helpful Some of your seemingly off the cuff comments’ I have found invaluable’ in getting to understand nautical charts. Not everything can be found in a book Thanks again.
Great instruction, Cheers
Excellent video clear and precise instruction, Cheers
