The Panathenaic Stadium or Panathinaikó Stádio or Kallimarmaro is a multi-purpose stadium in Athens, Greece. One of the main historic attractions of Athens, it is the only stadium in the world built entirely of marble.
A stadium was built on the site of a simple racecourse by the Athenian statesman Lykourgos (Lycurgus) c. 330 BC, primarily for the Panathenaic Games. It was rebuilt in marble by Herodes Atticus, an Athenian Roman senator, by 144 AD and had a capacity of 50,000 seats. After the rise of Christianity in the 4th century it was largely abandoned. The stadium was excavated in 1869 and hosted the Zappas Olympics in 1870 and 1875. After being refurbished, it hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the first modern Olympics in 1896 and was the venue for 4 of the 9 contested sports. It was used for various purposes in the 20th century and was once again used as an Olympic venue in 2004. It is the finishing point for the annual Athens Classic Marathon. It is also the last venue in Greece from where the Olympic flame handover ceremony to the host nation takes place.

Aghia Irini is a double bay located in the west of Paros island in Greece. The whole bay took its name from the church of Aghia Irini (Santa Irene) built on the top of a nearby hill. The southern bay is called Palm Beach. It's a sandy beach with clear waters and interesting seabed, ideal for snorkeling. On the back of the beach there is a tavern and a camping facility.

Aghia Irini is a double bay located in the west of Paros island in Greece. The whole bay took its name from the church of Aghia Irini (Santa Irene) built on the top of a nearby hill. The northern bay is called Livadaki and it has a nice wind protected sandy beach. On the right of the beach there is the beautiful small church of Aghios Georgios (St. George).

This is a very well preserved windmill. It's located in Parikia (the main town of Paros island). In the back of the windmill, is the city-hall of Paros island. A few meters away from the windmill, you will find the beautiful church of Aghia Anna. Also, it's a nice spot to watch the wonderful sunset of Paros island.

Delfini is a small but nice beach, quite close to Parikia, the main town of Paros island. It's especially nice when moderate winds are blowing in the area. There is also an interesting restaurant at the back of the beach. By the way, Delfini means Dolphin in Greek.

it truly sucks being broke I have always been in aww of partheon and the great pyramids the coliseum in Rome I always dreamed of going to these places I studied and now im 42 slowly but surely losing more and more vision every year and wish I could hit the lottery or something to take my family to see these marvals mankind built !!
